PhonesRe: Setting The Facts Right : Tecno Camon C8 Vs Iphone 6 Camera Test by TechsNG(op): 7:05pm On Apr 01, 2016
Acidosis:
There are 3 sides to all issues.

We've seen Camon C8, we have seen IPhone 6, but where are the REAL images?

It's hard to tell the best, as we do not know the true representation of the images here.

E.g. Tecno gave us a very bright and whitish gravel. IPhone 6 gave us a warm image, so what's the real state of the gravel? We don't know smiley

From my own Observation, IPhone 6 gave a true picture of things. Just compare the image of that young man and lady, and see how Tecno inverted the images falsely.

Tecno shows you held the phone with your left hand

Iphone 6 shows you held the phone with your right hand

grin
look at the positions of that gated building at the background grin

Which of these hands did you use OP?
See the bracelet on your hand on both views grin

Tecno won't kill person! chai! See factory error grin grin grin
I actually used my right hand in holding the phone.

Tecno mobile went as far as comparing the Tecno Camon C8 camera with the iPhone 6 camera. Even till date, the brand is still comparing both phone's camera. While most people saw the comparison as absurd, it still worked for the brand.

Yesterday, I decided to set the facts right by comparing both the front and back camera of the Camon C8 with iPhone 6 front and back camera.

I took random pictures using both the Camon C8 and the iPhone 6 and I tried as much as I could to give same exact shots. I am not a professional photographer in anyway. So please, make do with the little I could do. Perhaps, at the end of this post, you'd be able to determine which phone's camera actually does better.

Tecno Camon C8 vs iPhone 6 Camera Tests

So, let the contest begin!

@TechsNG,

After reading your impressive article or Tips on the above Topic. I have decided to streamline my options to Tecno cammon C8 and a Samsung product (unknown yet).

But will still need you to recommend me one. Between the Tecno cammon C8 and a Samsung product (unknown yet) interms of Performance, Durability, Camera features, Strong battery capacity and Accessories availability in the Nigeria market for repairs should incase.

Lastly, I learnt for one to use an Andriod phone, one must be familiar with the pros & cons and fully ready to save up for it,when it comes to its charges. So I would love you to provide answers to the questions below....

1. Which network is ideal for browsing on the Andriod phones and how fast is it?

Suitable network depends on geographical location. I mean, while MTN may be good in a particular location, it may be terrible in Another. However, if you are looking at Data plans, glo bis rocks. Some MTN users are using tricks. Airtel's got some really cool plans and etisalat?? Well, you can get 1GB for N1000.

2. How can one curb megabytes wastage?

Well, apps running in the background coupled with synchronizing services are what consumes data when you think you ain't using them. If you can limit this, you can limit data usage.

3. Can you pls drop your email address or phone contact so I can reach you for more talks.

You can reach TechsNG via techsngblog[at]gmail[dot]com

Looking forward to your reply pretty soon.

Thanks

The last time i checked, the price of the tecno camon c8 is between 35k to 38k while that of the note 2 had gone up to about 40k.

Most of all, go on youtube and check out how to identify "clones" of a phone.....I'v handled a samsung s5 clone bought for just 20k...it can do almost everything the original s5 can do. But the sell out was that the resolution is dull, missing features, different layout and other inconspicuous things that are hard to identify with the Untrained eye. Even you OP can fall for a cloned phone. Boiz are getting more dubious by the day, so you too should get smarter!!! Always Google out difference between the original and clone of your desired phone.
Many people own clones but think they are original fones.
I've been down that road before and am not sure it can happen again. You may wanna read this: http://www.techsng.com/2014/10/samsung-galaxy-s4-china-clone-version.html

Pls TechsNG... Wich do u think makes more sense in terms of performance(battery,RAM, multitasking etc) btw Techno Camon C8 and Infinix Note 2(Infinix Big 6)huh

Thanks!
I have used both phones and based on my honest opinion, the Infinix Note 2 is better. The only issue i have with the device is the size (6.0inch). The Camon C8 has a better design as well but in terms of performance, the note 2 rocks better.

Ops thanks for this . . .Am confuse on the type of phone to buy. Please can u recommend me to any good product with good battery, good camera pixel and at least 2gig Ram size with an amount ranging btw 25-30 naira
Considering the current exchange rate in Nigeria, i am not so sure of your price range as per the specs you stated. However, based on phones i have used so far, the infinix zero 2 does well in regards camera pixels, 2gb ram, sold for an amount that is affordable (as at the last time i checked). The only turn off with the device is the battery.

If you've got a better budget, there are lots of varieties. You could opt in for the well known brands. HTC, Samsung, LG has got devices with 2GB RAM, good camera pixels and good battery. You just have to make a list of phones that fit into your budget first.

The mobile market is big. I mean, very big. Month in, month out, we constantly hear reports of newly released phones, soon to be released phones and hopefully to be released phones.

In as much as there are lots of phones in the market, you sure wouldn’t want to make a mistake of buying a phone you will later end up wishing you never did. If you’ve heard that experience, am sure you wouldn’t want to have it again.

I mean, we sure cannot point out numbers of people who have rushed to buying a smartphone only for them to start laying complains. Complains that makes you wonder if they knew what they were buying before they bought it.

Due to this issues and in other to reduce the occurrence of this complains (of course we can’t stop it), we have decided to talk extensively on 5 things you should do before buying your next smartphones.

1. Make A List : A popular saying has it that variety is the spice of life. So also, economics has proven that human wants are unlimited. Due to the fact that there are numerous phones in the market, it is always nice to make a list of phones you’d rather choose from. See it as having a plan A, Plan B, Plan C etc.

Depending on what you actually look for in a smartphone, you can base your list on that. It could be design, camera, performance. There are lots of phones these days that can fit in perfectly with those attributes. Hence, trust me, making a list is important.

Come to think of it, how many times have you gone to shop for a phone hoping to buy a particular one only for you to return home with another? Ehn ehn! So you see.

2. Set A Price Range: I remember those days when sophisticated phones and computers weren’t so common. We’d usually go to the cafe whenever we have anything to do with the internet. I remember usually going to the cafe with the mindset of not buying more than one hour browsing time and when I am done, I’d realize I’ve bought a total of 3 hours browsing time. Have you actually had a similar experience?

Same spirit can work with smartphones. You can budget buying a smartphone for around N30,000 and just because you want with extra cash, you could probably end up buying a smartphone with N40,000.

In other to avoid this, it’s really important that you set a price range and stick to the price range when making a list of phones to choose from as stated in point one. Thanks to online retail stores, you can get an idea as to how much a particular phone cost which should further aid you with setting a price range.

3. Read Reviews: One thing I’ve come to realize during my course of research is that most people don’t read online reviews of a smartphone before choosing to buy. They tend to go with word of mouth and funny enough, some of these people advising customers to buy a particular phone, haven’t actually used the phone. They probably must have seen the phone and maybe because of the design, you advise people around them to go get it.

Thanks to OEMs releasing phones lately with stylish designs. I mean, it’s very catchy. Our ladies love them but my dear, design and specs are two different things. A phone could look very stylish, elegant, kin-kin, you name it. But performance could be below average. *In Chris Brown’s Voice* You don’t wanna go there.

Please, save yourself from stories that touch and take some time in reading online reviews of your list of phones before making a choice or making choices. I understand there are lots of biased reviews online but then, there are still some unbiased reviews. Try to read from different sources before making a final decision.

4. Take A Proper Look At The Specs : This kinda relates to what we talked about reading reviews. Just see this as a continuation from point 3 lol.

Now, you would agree with me that 80% of our ladies do not know what specs of a phone means. Most of the time, what they care about is the design of the phone as well as the CAMERA. As a matter of fact, Camera is the koko.

I wouldn’t want to point out any name or model of a phone but there is a current trending phone with a beautiful design and really nice camera. But, performance (in my opinion) doesn’t meet up. During the course of multitasking within a short pace of time, I noticed much lagging.

Our ladies while on their phone, do quite a number of multitasking. Facebook, Twitter (maybe), BBM, WhatsApp, Gallery and of course, not forgetting candy crush (their best game I guess). Most 1GB RAM phone these days, will at some point, lag when you are continuously multitasking. You will at some point, get tired of a phone when it begins to lag. In other to avoid that experience too often, please look properly at the specs of the phone which includes processor, RAM size, camera and others before making a list of phones to choose from.

5. Don’t Go Shopping Alone : Now, this is also important. Especially if you don’t have vast knowledge on the subject matter.

I recently shared a story of a man who went to the market to purchase an iPhone only to return home and find a cloned Nokia phone with antenna. You wouldn’t want to have such experience would you? So please, try to always go with someone who’s got vast knowledge on phones whenever you are going to shop for a smartphone.

So, there you have it. Very lengthy right? Yeah I know. Don’t mind me but then, I am quite sure the points stated above will really come in handy and leave you smiling for a very time after purchasing your next smartphone.

PhonesRe: Infinix Hot 2 Likely To Recieve Marshmallow 6.0 Update By January by TechsNG: 12:48am On Dec 20, 2015
iGotTech:
For some couple of weeks now, we have constantly been fed with news relating to the latest android operating system which is the 6.0 marshmallow. Infinix in a leak press release we sorta shared yesterday, said the infinix hot 2 x510 phone will be getting the marshmallow upgrade before the end of January.

An excerpt from the press release reads thus:

Software speaking, HOT 2 is coming with the latest operating system in the market, Android Lollipop 5.1. As technology is moving fast, Infinix is following. The smartphone also manages your power and data usage. The device will receive an automatic and free update of Android Marshmallow 6.0 before the end of January 2016

While it’s not totally impossible for an android One phone in Africa to get the new marshmallow upgrade so soon owing to the fact that some android one phones in Bangladash and India has been reported to have received the new 6.0 marshmallow upgrade via OTA, you may want to take this news with a pinch of salt.

The reason for this is because although infinix promised some phones will be getting the android 5.1 lollipop in August, public betas were released sometime in July and beta updates in August with final versions for some specified models released in September.

Since the infinix hot 2 is an android one smartphone and Google promised 2 years of free upgrade on the device, update should be rolled out via Over The Air (OTA) and not having to flash like in the case android 5.1 lollipop on other few infinix devices.

PhonesSee How Facebook Wants To Help You Forget Your Ex by TechsNG(op): 3:37pm On Nov 21, 2015
Most people tend to update their Facebook relationship status when they are in a relationship and when they are no longer in a relationship. If you just broke up with whoever you were dating and the person seem to be on your fb friends list, Facebook wants to help you forget your ex much easily.

https://www.techsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/facebook-ex.jpg

Having to block your ex on Facebook may seem rather childish of you and in other to save yourself from been tagged as ‘Childish’, the new privacy settings introduced by Facebook can actually help you in ‘almost’ blocking your ex on the social network without he/she knowing.

The new privacy tool will be displayed when a user changes his/her relationship status to ‘Single’. The tool will allow users to see less of their former partner’s content and activity on Facebook without actually unfriending or blocking them.

https://www.techsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/facebook-ex-2.jpg

Not only that, the tool will also block the ex’s name from appearing when composing new messages or tagging friends in photos. Asides those, users can also block ex from seeing photos, videos or status updates that you update after utilizing the privacy tool. See it as having your life more private without your ex having to know about how you are doing without having to block them.

According to Facebook:

This work is part of our ongoing effort to develop resources for people who may be going through difficult moments in their lives. We hope these tools will help people end relationships on Facebook with greater ease, comfort and sense of control.

Of course, the new privacy tool is optional and can be accessed in the help center anytime. The new feature is currently only available to mobile phone users in the US and will likely be extended to other regions after changes are made based on people’s feedback.
