Balde has the pace and potential to adapt, but his decision-making in the final third is still very poor. For the second leg, I don’t really think we need all the attacking overlaps; what we need is defensive stability because I’m sure Newcastle will want to press us again. I believe Cancelo is a much better fit for this specific game than Balde. Let’s see what the coach will do on that day.

I’m still holding out some hope because we’re benching Araujo and Ferran. While Araujo has his strengths, his track record in Europe isn't exactly inspiring confidence right now. Hopefully, our defenders are ready for whatever Newcastle throws at them.

If Dejong is a great player then players like Rakitic, Thiago, Carrick, Van Bommel, Fernandinho, Fabinho, Edmilson etc are Aliens.

Overall, he's a good player though but very average as a defensive midfielder. A certified defensive liability. Great player keh lol.

You can't blame Casado too much. His problem is a combination of psychological and skill issues. I've explained that Dejong is the better player overall but as a DM, he beats Dejong. Ability wise, for Casado, no matter his performance, a single mistake or slight deep in form, and he'll find himself behind better players in Pedri, Dejong, Bernal, Garcia and even Olmo for the CM/DM position.

Last season when Casado was doing fine, immediately Dejong was fit, he was dropped to the bench. This happened after Barca lost to Leganes or Sociaeda last season. Dejong can drop stinker after stinker and will still start next game. Casado does not have that kind of luxury. No matter what he does, he'll never be first choice CM/DM at Barca. He knows this too deep down. He's like Sergi Roberto.

Verdict: He needs to leave!

The only player I pity in the Barca Midfield for now is Pablo Gavi.. that is outside Casado.

Xavi used him well enough but don't know what flick is doing with him.

We ain't even considering him as a Midfield option.

If we don't reach Semi-final, it is going to be a failure for us. We can't get a better opportunity to go deep in the tournament.
