Luxury watch makers Hublot is introducing its first Wear OS smartwatch. The 13.9mm thick smartwatch known as the Big Bang Referee is limited edition and Kevlar and titanium body designed. The Swiss luxury watchmaker is the official timekeeper of the 2018 World Cup and the device is capable of alert wearers 15 minutes before every game, as well as send notifications on yellow and red cards, player changes, and of course goals.

The watch which will be connected to goal-line technology is 50 meter water resistance with GPS cost €4,200 about $5,200 which is about N1.9 million. The Big Bang Referee is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom Z34XX processor running at 1.6Ghz with 512MB of RAM. It’s 400 x 400 AMOLED display has a 35.4 mm diameter for 287 PPI. It comes with a diameter of 49 mm and is 13.9 mm thick, powered by 410 mAh battery.

After been criticized for helping to circular fake new on social media and the internet in recent time, search engines giant Google is pledging a massive $300 million to help fight fake news. The funding is to help promote quality journalism and fight the world of fake news with misinformation on the internet.

According to its Chief Business Officer, Philipp Schindler, the initiative will help elevate and strengthen quality journalism; evolve business models to drive sustainable growth; and empower news organizations through technological innovation. He said;
We invested a lot time and energy in these collaborations. But the hard truth is all of this might not be enough.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish what’s true (and not true) online. Business models for journalism continue to change drastically. The rapid evolution of technology is challenging all institutions, including the news industry — to keep pace.

The is partnering with others on the initiative which also include improving the subscription for news by using users Google account to provide a secure and safer means of payment as well as making it easy for you to manage your subscriptions all in one place.

Qualcomm has officially released the name of smartphone that support its new Quick Charge 4.0 feature. According to the list released on its official website, only the the Razer Phone made the list.

The Quick Charge 4.0 feature make it possible for smartphones can reach up to 50% of battery charge in just 15 minutes. Facebook has introduced video calling features to its Messenger Lite version. The new update allows users to chat face to face as it done on the Core Messenger version. The new feature is coming after the company reportedly made a total of 17 billion video chats in Messenger alone back in 2017. According to Facebook, the figure was twice the amount reported back in 2016 the previous year.

The new update is now rolling out to Lite users, it should be available to everyone in the coming days. it should be noted that Facebook Messenger Lite only weighs 10MB in size. Whats your view on this?

Last year November 2017, WhatsApp introduced a new features that allowed users to delete a sent message within seven minutes after it has being sent. While the feature was a welcome development, many complete that the time duration was too short.

In response to this, the new WhatsApp beta version 2.18.69 is extending the time duration from 7 minutes which is 420 seconds to 4096 seconds which is about 68 minutes and 16 seconds or better put, 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds.

According to report, the WhatsApp beta version 2.18.69 update came with the ability for users to forward stickers to other chats in the 2.18.67 beta. The 2.18.69 beta update reportedly also came with a bug which causes the app to crash when the user tries to send GIFs

While we await to see the launch and features the new Android P (Android 9) has to offer, It has been revealed Android P will preventing malicious background apps from accessing your camera and recordings via microphone. This according to Google is to help prevent the increasing number of malicious malware apps and trojans in taking control of your smartphone when the screen is turned off.

Before now, Android hasn’t done much to prevent this, and developers have found ways to covertly record video or take pictures without the user knowing at all. This new rule-set keeps an eye on the UID of applications blocking them from accessing your camera in even when the UID is idle.

After lot of photographers and publishers complained about who Google image search allowed people to steal their pictures and work, the search engine giants today made few changes to its image search. removing the ‘view image’ button from search results that appear when you click on a picture and also the “search by image” button that appeared when you open up a photo. Although the changes are small but has a huge impact on users experience.

Before the change, you search for images in Google, you have the option to save the image you are viewing for later use. Announcing this, Google said; Today we're launching some changes on Google Images to help connect users and useful websites. This will include removing the View Image button. The Visit button remains, so users can see images in the context of the webpages they're on.
