OUKITEL U18 was launched back in February is the first iPhone X clone from a reliable brand. According to figures released Thursday by market researcher Strategy Analytics iPhone X top the list of world best selling smartphones. iPhone X was the best-selling smartphone in the world during the first quarter of 2018 with Apple shipping 16 million units during the first three months of the year. This is closely followed by another Apple smartphone the iPhone 8 which sold 12.5 million units.

Apple also claimed the third and fourth spot with the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 which sold 8.3 million units and 5.6 million units respectively. The fifth spot is a shocker to many the Xiaomi Redmi 5A record the sales of 5.4 million units in Q1 2018. The figure makes it the fifth best selling smartphone in the world.

After weeks of backlash due to the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook vowed to improve the platform services. Just today, the company announced that it has removed 1.9 million terrorism content from its platform. The figure reflect just the first quarter of 2018 which is almost twice the figure of 2017.


The social media giant gave a clean definition of what it termed and understood by terrorism. It defined terrorism as any non-governmental organization that engages in premeditated acts of violence, government, or international organization in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. This also includes religious extremists, violent separatists to white supremacists and militant environmental groups.

Facebook noted that the company’s policy prohibits terrorists from using Facebook and its services. It also revealed that its new detection technology focuses more on ISIS, al-Qaeda, and their affiliates. The company says it has taken down 1.9 million pieces of ISIS and al-Qaeda content from its platform.

These take down were possible due to its counterterrorism team which currently has over 200 members. Its internal reviewers were able to detect 99% of the case with little help from reported cases.

Although not directed against any government, Facebook will take not any post that violate its policies. The social media giant promises to work harder in identify and remove content related to terrorism as soon they were posted.

A proxy statement filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday, has revealed that it costed Facebook co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg about $9 million per year to maintain his security detail and flights on private jets. Just last year, the company a total of $8.9 million for the facebook boss's security and travel expenses.

A broke down of the figure shows the company sending $1.5 million in private aircraft rental expenses and $7.3 million committed to the entrepreneur’s security detail in 2017 only. Other executive which enjoys this benefits includes, the Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg incurred $2.7 million in expenses. Ms. Sandberg held over $242 million worth of Facebook stock.

Huawei Technologies says it plans to sell over 20 million units of its P20 series this year. The company also revealed that it is way ahead of the competition in China and its Research & Development team gets ten times more than other Chinese OEMs to develop innovative features. The Chief Executive Officer Huawei, Mr. Yu Chengdong, revealed that the move is for the company to compete with heavyweights like Apple and Samsung.

How the company aims to achieve this 20 million units maker is still unknown but the P20 series smartphones comprises of the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite.

A new report from Uganda says the Government of the country will start taxing its citizens for using social medias. Speaking in an interview with Reuters, the country's finance minister Matia Kasaija, said the tax will see every mobile phone subscriber buying about USh200 which is around $0.027 per day for using social media. According to him, platforms that will be affected include, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook Skype, and Viber.

The government in the 2016 general election, blocked access to Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. The country is among the Eastern Africa country imposing laws to regulate internet usage. Just last month, other Eastern Africa country, Tanzania introduced an annual licence fee of TSh1 million about $440 for any citizen operating a blog or website in the country. The first real Image of Xiaomi’s first gaming phone the BlackShark has been leaked online. This is coming days after Black Shark’s CEO, Wu Shimin, via Weibo revealed that the first image of the smartphone leaked online was fake.

Jam City, a Los Angeles based mobile games studio, in partnership with Warner Bros is terming up to introduce a game version of the popular Harry Potter franchise. Known as Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, a free-to-play RPG game (with in-app purchases) for Android and iOS devices will be resealed on April 25th. The story line of the game shows life at the popular wizarding world before Harry Potter received his Hogwarts letter.

Owners of the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and the Galaxy S6 Active, will not be getting the latest Android Oreo as the company has decided to end Android support for the devices. All the device will be ending their lives running Android 7.0 Nougat with the February 5, 2018 Android Security Patch on board.

This is according to the list revealed on Samsung’s Android Security Upgrades page which shows the Galaxy S6 family missing.
