you don't necessarily have to root your phone before using the GLO subscription.

you won't be able to upgrade from kitkat to lollipop without going through the process of using sp flashtool

The issue is getting a fast and affordable original usb cable
The one I saw at SLOT costs almost 2k (good enough to get a new charger) and that's the only one they have, I've never tried using that kind of usb cable so I don't have the assurance that it's going to be a fast usb cable unlike others that I've tried

you might have removed your phone from your laptop without ejecting it. try connecting your phone to another computer and see if problem persists

it's either your phone has not been rooted or the root checker app wasn't granted super user access

I never upgraded to that, although I downloaded the update, was on 0823, when I could not live with the flaws, I flashed back KitKat and now am happy I did, at least until the official 5.1 is released.

I am back people, that lollipop battery no stable, back to 4.4, maybe till dey drop the official update

what version did you upgrade to? I'm on the 0910 version, and the battery is manageable, though it's not as good at it was on KK

this update can only come up on tecno phones that came with Android 5.0 pre-installed on them. you can't get updates to lollipop if you're on kitkat

its simple.. Use SP Flash tools.. extract the ROM, click on scatter-loader from the flash tools, and point it to the folder you extracted to select the scatterfile.txt.
at this point, turn your phone completely off and disconnect from the PC. Select firmware upgrade and click download. Now plug in your phone to the USB, the process should start, dont interrupt until its done. Finis

or if you have stock recovery, copy the zip file to your SD card, boot into recovery, select update zip from SD, let it run and reboot when its done.

thanks bro. which version did you update your phone to? I've seen much complaints about the updates, like battery draining faster, poor sounds and camera quality, etc. you don't have any of these bugs on your phone right now?
