Good morning all,@ Teddyblaze please can u help me with info as regards Iqas. I registered with Iqas on the 1st of Oct. And requested for transcript on the 4th of October. The transcript (LLB)was delivered on the 15th of oct. 2019 but till now I've not seen any update on my portal. On my portal it's still showing 1st of october. I'm worried. Plz help

Hi,
IQAS requires u to have lots of patience. When I did mine it took about 3months from when my transcript was delivered before they acknowledged receipt of same. The while process took 5months from when my transcript arrived at their office as per my courier tracking.
I don't know what D average timelines are at d moment but I implore u to have patience.

Few points about my application

POF
100percent gift deed from my father
Attached the notorised gift deed, bank reference letter (not in CIC format), statement of account for the day the gift sum was transferred to me and highlighted same and also added the transfer teller

Work reference
For the two jobs I have done which I used to claim 3years work experience I was paid in cash for both. So I just got the reference letter in CIC form and indicated I was paid in cash beside the salary.

IELTS
I can't overemphasize the essence of practice. Wrote it once and the scores are as seen above.

All other processes were seamless and uneventful apart from ECA where I had to wait on IQAS for 5months before my evaluation was completed. Was worth it in the end because my LLB was given a professional degree equivalence.

Now my watch has ended. TIME TO DISVIRGIN MY PASSPORT.

So Nigerians would no longer send passports to Accra for stamping again.
Effective 4th of November passports will no longer be going to Accra and would be processed and stamped in Nigeria. This would lead to a favourable turn around time.

Guys pls does CIC accept scanned reference letters in black and white. That’s what they gave me oo.. They’ve kuku photocopied a lot of letter head in black and white so that’s what they use.

I guess this shouldn't be a problem. Is the signature with a blue ink?

Yesterday I got a Notification Mail saying that my Application has been updated and I should log in to check Status and Message. I have not seen any change in my Status or message since then. Please, what could that mean?

Seems like Ottawa VO is not the place to be right now. I was somewhat heartbroken when I found out my application is domiciled there but we keep trusting God for speedy processing

By public commute, take a keke from obalende going to Eko hotel roundabout. Get down at d last stop and either take a drop to Qlife. Alternatively, from Eko hotel roundabout u can input Qlife on Google Maps and it will give u directions on foot, it's about a 15min walk. Good exercise if u have time on ur side

Although I wrote in Nigeria and passed once (had 8 in writing), I cannot but admit that I think there's something untoward about how Nigerians are graded. My friend, whom I know as an outstanding writer and a fellow lawyer just got 6.5 in writing, which is very surprising. I know this dude well and he reported that the Writing went very well for him. Meanwhile he wrote 2 years ago with minimal preparation and had 7.5 in writing. As a lawyer, working in an A List lawfirm, writing is an essential part of his daily routine, so getting 6.5 is surprising.

While I understand ur perspective perfectly, working in a big law firm is not a precursor to passing IELTS. What I advice people especially lawyers taking d test is, unlearn your legal drafting and writing skills before stepping into d hall.
I have a friend who for task 1 was asked to write a letter to his neighbor, requesting him to address d issue of overgrown branches. As soon as he told me that I knew there would be a problem for a lawyer who hasn't unlearnt the lawyer writing method. True to my thinking he started talking alot about abatement of nuisance. Goes without saying the result the turn out well.

What are u driving at exactly. Lots of people have written the test in Nigeria and passed at one sitting. We really should stop seeing the exam as a demon that should be defeated in order to go into the exam hall with a clear mindset

hi guys, does anyone know how i can send my passport in for stamping? i got my ppr on monday and its been a headache trying to send it to accra without a prepaid envelop within the package as DHL doesnt do prepaid packs. i have less than 11 days now.

U have to wait for between 90-100days before receiving any acknowledgement per the current trends. Patience is a virtue

My IQAS PEEPS For those that are currently in fluctuations, PM me to get a way to download your assessed ECA.

A good indian friend (yeah Amma not gonna take credit for it ,it was courtesy my friend) but I can help have just downloaded one for spouse and it works!! I respect Indians and their IT skills.
