Good evening house, Pls I ve an issue bothering on renewal of b1/b2 visa. My family did a renewal in 2016 which will expire in Feb 2018. Unfortunately, my 2 kids and hubby have not travel with d visa and will definately not be chanced to use it till it expires. I was the only one that used the visa ds yr on my from giving birth in Canada. We now want to renew it as soon as it expires in Feb but my hubby is sceptical that we might be denied due to the fact that he and the kids wasted the previous one without using it. He also heard from a source that the US consulate has started reducing visa issuance unlike how it was few mnths ago. My hubby was with me to Canada but didn't go to d US... We really need to know if we stand a good chance of not being denied. |

Thanks so much for ur prompt response... I actually missed my first appointment with Dr Ayodele cos I didnt take the full cash with me on dt day. I tot the cash will be paid on delivery date. He has fixed another one for nxt wk but am thinking its too far off. I will look out for other gyneas in dt building as u said. Thank you again JESUnifemi4eva: Hi Teefinix,
I didn't give birth via CS. I used Dr. Kayode Ayodele, his office is just beside Brampton Civic Hospital, there are lots of gynaes in this office complex - I won't post his phone number but you can check him at 2250 Bovaird Drive East Brampton.
Dr. Ayodele doesn't have such great reviews online but I think it's because he is pretty straight-forward and doesn't talk so much....but he is quite knowledgeable.
There was a really nice gynae that attended to me when Dr. Ayodele was on vacation, unfortunately I can't remember his name but he is in the same building as Dr. Ayodele
I don't have access to the mail I used to open the Nairaland account.
Relax....you will get a good deal. |

Good afternoon sis... Pls ao were u able to book ur cs in 2 days....am presently in Brampton and haven't been able to get an appointment with any gynea. The docs that were even displayed here for brampton are claiming not to accept cash patients.... Kindly assist with ur doc contact Thank you. JESUnifemi4eva: Hi EmaShah2017.
I wish you a safe delivery.
Whilst using the 4-in-1 option....remember that you are a temporary resident and your child is not entitled to privileges such as child care benefits; thus pick just the birth registration and leave other options for later when the child is ready to live in Canada.
Make sure you pay for both long and short certificate.
Also make sure you tick Doctor as the presiding birth attendant; I clicked on 'other' and it gave me a lot of stress.
Best of luck and GOD's favour in the delivery room. |

@ Virt. Ok.....so if I go there physically, am sure to get appointment? I have been able to get his address. Virt: hi Teefinix,
Sorry I did not go through a family doctor, but you can use any walk in Clinic, there are loads of them in Brampton and they will refer you to the Dr. of your choice. There is even one in the same premises where Dr. Abou Seido's office is, just near the Brampton Civic Hospital.
Its quite surprising because they not ask me to go through any family Dr. but that shouldn't be a problem. Check Dr Abou's address online, I am not with one of their appointment cards at the moment to confirm the address to you. |

Yea sis.... I later changed my mind to coming to Brampton...my friend husb actually has a house there rather than where she stays in BC.....and I was made to realise that i will get things done Faster and cheaper in Brampton. Poe was a seemless process....no funny question asked except ao many days I want to use. No agric....nothing asked abt my bump. Although my bump is not usually big...so maybe the guy didn't noticed and my husb also was with me...we both answering questions...focus was not only on me. I wish u a safe trip and smooth entry as well. urblackpearl: Hello Sis @teefinix3. Thank God for journey mercies. Hope your POE experience was not stressful. Didnt you go to BC again? |

@ ooresky.... Thanks a lot. I just read it that one can get a rush service for within 5-10 days....I think am willing to try cos I don't know anyone in other provinces....though am not sure if this rush service....but I read it on BC vital statistics portal. I will be travelling in 35 weeks and my host insist I get there b4 looking for a doc....I don't know ao easy that will be.....and I really don't know to go abt shopping for doc from here.... Pls is there a way to go abt contacting a dov from here...if possible..especially since am opting for selective CS... |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Teefinix3: 11:52pm On May 31, 2017 |
@ ooresky... Thanks for d info...I ve browse thru and discovered BC doesn't issue birth cert without birth reg which on its own takes an avg of 4 wks like u said. But pls did u actually experience this?...if ds is really true...am already considering going to Brampton as we ve testimonies of mums getting birth cert in 1 wk in Brampton. I really need to be sure of this info from a life scenario. Thank u & God bless....waiting for ur response... ooresky: Hello Everyone, For those planning to give birth in BC you have to take into consideration the fact that it's one of the most expensive provinces especially if you don't have real family/friends. Birth certificates take an average of 4weeks to be delivered. Baby's SIN also takes about 5weeks . One word of advice, do your own research /prepare well before going to BC as there are other provinces that you may get better deals than BC. |

Thank u Virt....really appreciate it... Virt: Hi,
I went with the following lab tests
List of lab tests 1) Strep B 2) Blood sugar test – I did OGTT instead of fasting blood sugar because I usually have big babies 3) Hepatitis B 4) HIV 5) Blood work (Genotype, blood group, count etc) 6) ultrasound results 7) Glucose test.
Yes, 2 weeks is enough to process baby's papers, but plan for longer, cos it may not always be the case. I got my baby's birth certificates one week after application, Passport in 3 days (because I had a flight ticket showing that I was traveling in 3 days as at the date of passport application), got the emergency travel certificate in 2 days ( its usually within 5 days, but because my travel date was close he expedited action, but he did not like such close call though).
When you get the birth certificate, you can process the passport and ETC simultaneously, however birth certificate comes first b4 any other paper work. You will need a notarized letter from the father of the baby to the Nigerian High commission in Ottawa if the father is not physically present in Canada (Pls check website for things to submit for ETC). As I said in the earlier post, the father if not present in Canada will go to Canadian High commission in Lagos or Abuja to sign sth which will be faxed to Canada passport office, b4 the baby's passport is processed. So these are the kind of things that may delay the process, especially if the father does not live in Lagos or Abuja, he or she will have to travel there.
Regards, |

Hi boluwagin. Congrats on ur safe delivery. I was able to get in touch via mail to Dr stimage office and her prices were quoted. But the lady didn't include the hospital bills and told me to get in touch with the hospital myself. Please how were u able to get in touch via mail to Baylor white Scott. I will be needing the Hosp correspondence at the POE. I ve sent a request to PM you. Thanks boluwagin: So just as I promised to share my total bill and experience for my first Missionary Journey:
Hospital Bill - 3k for noncomplicated vaginal delivery (it has to be paid before discharge from the hospital to qualify for the discount package)
Dr fee - 1k for vaginal delivery (payment is due at initial doctors appointment)
Lab test - 158
Ultra scan - 120
Paediatrician - 300
Well Child Check - 95 (this was done at JPS hospital fort Worth)
LO birth cert. - 23 each (collected two copies)
American Passport - 165 (I got it by mail exactly 13days after applying)
I got my zero balance from the hospital by mail 3 weeks after discharge. I left US with LO on the 30th of March, got to Qatar and was hoping to get a transit visa to qualify for an hotel in Doha but sadly our Visa wasn't granted by the immigration, we had to stay at the airport for a 12hrs layover. Thank God it's finally over for now, I will hang my coat and hibernate till further notice. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences, bills and answered both my public and direct questions, God bless you all especially @chloe7 @temmyo ...@dyout Congratulations and thank you so so much for the assistance with LO letter of Consent and it was nice to meet your Madam a fellow Nairalander in diaspora. Peace! |

Good evening sis and congrats on ur safe delivery. I am a July mom and ve been trying Dr stimage office line for over a month..keep getting a msg that the office is closed even when I called at their biz hrs. The line 972-492-7606 is what is displaced on her online profile. I tried calling now @ 1.30pm Texas time and still got the same msg. Pls is there any other line one can reach her office on..... I will really appreciate ur help. Thanks. tolopez: In the spirit of giving back, would like to share my POE experience. First and foremost, I would like to thank the house for all the valuable information I found on this forum. I left Lagos on the 27th of March with Emirates at 33 weeks 6 days and arrived on the 29th. I had my fitness to fly and my signed MEDIF form dated 24th March which I had sent to the medalos email address someone provided on this forum on the same 24th preceding my trip. Check in went smoothly, the only thing I submitted was the fitness to fly, the MEDIF form was not collected. I wasn't disturbed about being above 32 weeks, though I had also called the airline earlier to confirm that I could fly. I was in Dubai for 24 hours and rested well, I wasn't asked for fitness to fly before boarding the flight to Dallas, though on the plane, an air hostess asked to see it after i requested to be allowed to have the whole row to myself since the flight was not full. on arrival in Dallas, used the self-check Kiosk, took a photograph and carried my printed receipt and passport to the CBP officer after collection of all my luggage. The self-check kiosk almost messed me up as it refused to read my passport and visapage...but thankfully an officer helped me because it already sent me to an exception line. The CBP officer didn't ask me any question at all. Just collected my passport, the receipt and the immigration landing card where i had already declared that i had food, he stamped me in for 6 months, then asked what food i had, i said some egusi, dried fish and a few other things, so he sent me to Agric for luggage check. That was all......no questions on purpose of visit, or how much i had, or anything at all....not even are you pregnant despite my big belle. All my documents remained in my hand luggage. i was really happy. Agric was also a breeze....nothing was seized, infact the officer there declared me his fav passenger for the day after i rechristened him Ademola since he was trying so hard to speak some Yoruba. lolll
Now i have arrived and have rested a bit...i need to get the hospital ball rolling...@MiddyO and @Boluwagin...... i need your assistance...please PM me. i intend to use Baylor, Scott and White Carrolton. I have already gotten in touch with Dr Stimage's office and i am waiting to see if she can fit me in for an appointment, but please i need contact of the Paediatrician and anesthesia services you used or are using as well as the hospital fees and breakdown on any additional blood work and sonogram you may have done and the connect for it so i can have a total picture of the expected expenditure. would appreciate a quick response. Thank you |
