The man has travelled all over the world and at no time has he ever been seen with a guard, that the state govt decided to station armed guards during his visit to the state does not mean he requested for it in the 1st place.

the bottom line is in a country like nigeria, the teacher is just as indisciplined as the pupil, a state where people are power crazy; give a copper a gun and he would kill you over N5. So most teachers see the cain as a tool of terrorism instead of one for correcting wayward children. Like I said, there are other ways of punishing a child without inflicting injuries on him/her. I can count the number of times my father flogges me on one hand, yet I have total respect for the man, just goes to show that you cannot get people to respect you by flogging

[/quote]I totally disagree with you, some of the so called corporal punishment is nothing but child abuse. A pupil comes late to school, the teacher applies 12 strokes of the cane, how is that humane? I went to school where teachers victimised pupils for anything from not bribing them or the in the case of the female ones for refusing to sleep with them. Teacher beating a pupil over 24 strokes for asking another pupil to return his eraser during an exam. How can that be sane? There are other ways of disciplining errant pupils, and may i add that the teachers i actually respect are the ones that hardly flogged yet they have the respect of the students. Discipline is not all about flogging till there are lacerations all over your body.

I'm in support of this; that said it does not mean schools cannot punish students just that they are no longer allowed to "flog" them.

Concerning this thread, I have a question even.
Why do people continually ask how much is paid as salary in various companies? Someone even posted a thread the other day asking how much WAEC pays as salary.
Do you even have a choice of employment in Nigeria? People haven't even gotten past general aptitude tests, and they're busy trying to spend money they haven't even earned. Excuse my French, but I think such people are the reason why Nigeria isn't productive. These jobs aren't lottery tickets, they're jobs. Focus on getting in and building your career, and bother less about what the company pays as wages.

agree with you sir, people need to realise that companies will always pay top dollar for people who can add value/make telling contribution to the "bottom line". Entry-level staff who are still learning the ropes are hardly going to be in a position to offer much in the short-term hence the need to focus more on acquiring experience

And whay was she not asked to leave the exam hall? If this was anyone other than a "star" it would have been a carryover
