emofine:I think you need to understand the context in which he made the statement; he was saying that these artiste are great for TV and the thing that makes them stand out is their image/display, something you won't notice on radio. He's definitely not saying they are boring, afterall he has always had beyonce on the x-factor and has gone on record to say praise lady gaga several times. |
^^^^hey my one and only, where hast thou been ![]() |
Nice thread, my dad still gives me cash/gifts sometimes he does it in a way I find it hard to refuse, maybe because we are close. I dont rely on him in any way financially but everytime we meet up or he is in town he sort of finds a way to drop something even though he knows I don't need it. Personally, this is a cultural thing, people in the western world more or less cut the strings once the child finishes secondary school, for uni the child would have to get a loan and pay his/her way through. For naija, up to MSc levels at least most parents see it as their responsibility |
lagerwhenindoubt:I don't know where you derive your facts from, to allude that the congregation are "ragged to the point of atrocious poverty" due to tithing is nothing but tosh! How many congregation members have you sampled out especially those who claim to pay their tithes and still live in poverty? What of the countless tithers who have personal testimonies of the benefit of tithing? Should they not be part of the debate? |
I think it is wholly irresponsible for a grown up woman to lack basic culinary skills; I mean when we strip away all the razmatazz of life there are basic skills that both genders need to possess. Men ought to be handy with basic domestic tasks and every woman should know how to prepare basic meals. I am hardly surprised at the assertion that some/most naija girls cannot cook, they just seem to have their priority wrong all in the name of women liberation, |
george31:really? What's her full name? |
Poster has money to buy flight ticket, money for shopping yet he dey look for cheapo hotels or "looted" friends & relatives in London to house him ![]() |
I dislike double standard to the core and you are only getting emotional because the church was mentioned.I'm talking from a political and moral aspect not a religion win or lose one.Just one question for you. Is stolen money justified to pay tithe either in mosque or church ? What moral values do religion bodies hold when it comes to corruption ? should they support or oppose it ? Gain from the proceeds or turn it down ? !
of course it is not! But the pastor is not supposed to investigate every parishioners paycheck to determine who is thieving or not. I agree that if for some reasons the church suspects the donation is from the proceeds of a crime then they are at liberty to decline it; the same goes for the trader at Alaba market who swindles his clients or the NNPC secretary who forges her timesheet, |
You don't do it for me anymore, |
george31:Courtesy of Lightroom & Adobe CS5 plug-ins When you see her in real life I bet you'll find a few pimples and kraw kraw |
The pulling power of the $/£ is strong, |
ok so how is a public servant who steals public funds then pays 10% of it as tithe to a church any different from the office worker who adds extra hours to his timesheet? Tithing is a personal affair between God and the individual, the pastor has no right poking his nose into how much the individual earns or whether he/she is paying the right amount. If EFCC suspects anyone of fraudulent practices surely all they need so is inform the church and ask for their cooperation is any investigation; coming out this way shows just how inept this person is |
sley4life:You dey look for wahala oooooooooo ![]() @op I luv maths, but like has been said its all about getting pupils to develop confidence, maths is not like any other subject hence should be taught only by specialists. Most of the teachers just frustrate the life out of the students |
kunlaxo:LOL, @post, I'll keep this statement by GN and see if she still holds this view in 10 years time. The honest truth is she knows no sane naija man would marry her without some sort of compromise regarding her career. |
INK it is this sweet |
weekend |
sober |
how much ![]() |
paris10:Ok let me ask you this questions; 1) Why does she want to get married in RCCG? 2) Why is she offended that the pastors she has seen so far are not welcoming her with open arms? She does not attend the church, has no affiliation with whatsoever yet she expects them to fall head over heels because she wants to get married No well run church will just marry any jack/jill that walks off the street without finding out certain details about them. A couple i know very well went to naija to get married, this couple are committed RCCG members but the girl's father pastors another denomination. The church they were to get married in insisted that as a rule couples need to attend counselling sessions with them for at least 1 year. |
Dyt:No be only think about u sef, a lot more happens in my head ![]() |
Dyt:ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww |
debosky:I have a lot of time for Desaily but i think he is talking poo-poo here; so just because chelsea are looking to sign a spurs player means they are on the same level? Did united not sign a number of players from spurs? I dont even buy this lightweight trash either, the guy has played in the EPL for what 3 seasons now he must have found a way to make his "lightness" work to his advantage or else nobody would be looking at him. Besides How does signing sneijder(a good but in my opinion overrated player) take them to the level of barca. Someone tell this "charlie" to stay off the kenke |
