anyways, permit me to point out d fact about the above quoted statement. 'required to scale through' they say not all who scored 50%, the statement can not b interpreted as 'all who achieve 50% scale through'.
50% is required to scale through does not mean all who has it MUST scale through especially when new development comes up like in dis case.

Yes it may affect others but I say its ur fault. I actually went thru all first 4 list released, ckecking that of my state even tho I applied for Aero FS which happened to come last, I subsequently followed every other lists as been realised more so that we keep updating ourselves on dis nairaland with links, u have no excuse, accept responsibility for wat happened to u. it shows level of seriousness of candidates, we need this job more than ourselves tho. Let's keep hoping for d best!

Rashygenius na u suppose calm down! Security Officers and Fire Superintendents must undergo training exercises. Do you think people will be given uniform and be asked to just go and start screening passengers luggages? Or are u expecting fire officers to just go fight fire without proper training?
Successful people will be camped and trained for a period of time.

I hope u can as well read what u are writing. With passion, I hate people who simply talk for d sake of talking, Haba! how can you talk anyhow like this? so u think u can just b assigned a duty without training right? where do they do that? I pray u make it, depending on post, none will be less than 21days, few people still get eliminated @ dis stage, after which u can now have appointment letter indicating ur posting.
however, note that until one received confirmation letter, u still will continue to justify why u mustn't b sent packing, meaning elimination continues until confirmation. this is according to national standard.
so don't make it look as if we should go & sleep, don't just think its like 'eating banana'. u have to brace up, bro!

If you got a text and didn't get an email and your name isn't on the shortlist,, you are still eligible for the PFT. Report to any of the four centres closest to you.

am afraid u may b misleading them! cos they will check list that's with them for accreditation and I don't knw how its gonna b there.

pls house, Lagos center has this issue of not inviting Bsc & HND for AFS, ASS, SC &co, are they doing this in d other centers? or is it only lagos? tell me wats happening @ your center

Bro... I didn't do anything extraordinary. Although I must confess, in all the activity we did, I did mine to the best of my abilities. But before the physical test (which I presume almost everyone passed), there were a couple of tests like; blood pressure (bp), this I think would go a long way to determine who gets called up. The higher it is, the less chances onw has. Then there is height. But then again, some people who were called up were not even up to the required height for guys (1.70). Then there is weight. Plus a doctor's report, which marks the end of the medical aspect of the test.

Sincerely, I can't really pinpoint a factor that I would say they used in choosing. There were taller people who were not called up. There were more qualified people who were not called up. There were fitter people who were not called up. So, one can't tell.

Just do your best and be hopeful in God. Last last na god dey do every.

In lag, the people who couldn't provide ND for Security and Assistant Fire positions were not interviewed. Imagine scaling through every other processes, then getting to the final thing, they deny you. Meanwhile, they were not informed of that from the outset. Guy, wetin go be, go be. Na God sure pass joor.

you definitely filled Lagos as your state of origin may b as a mistake though. however u need not worry, get there first! u can only claim& belong to state whose certificate of origin u are carrying.

I disagrre with all those that say FAAN is not transparent because they weren't shortlisted. They used a quoter system like every FG recruitment process and there are educationally less- developed states. So one could score 85 and if many pple in ur state score 90 and above and they need 11 from ur state, u might not make d cut and some other person who scored 60 from another state makes the list. That's how it works.
I scored 72 and made the AFO list. Pple dt scored higher didnt make it cos the performance in their state was higher, and pple scored less and made it from other states too.
As for the fitness test you'l jug a 2.5km distance, do sit ups and then press ups. Learn the situps without anybody holdin ur legs.
Your height would be measured too.
As for the doctors report, go into any Government hospital and c a doctor, it won't take u up to 30mins and u have his signature and stamp .
FAAN know their msg might have come in late so even if u are 5hours late, u'll be let in but try and be early.
I know no body at faan and d process has been fairly transparent.
So don't discourage ur self with the ogathetop syndrom.
Pple get these jobs without knowin no body upstairs and we could too. Good lucks to all of u .

Some states were not represented on the list at all, while some had just one candidate. Some others like Ekiti and Edo for PDMO had more than 7 candidates each. I think Ekiti even had 11 candidates. What could be a logical explanation for such a conundrum?

I think rashygenius has a point, I think they are doing wat I will call 'spread out'. It is possible some states might not have a single candidate scoring above 60% whereas another state might have 20 scoring even more than 70%. so in suchcases d best thing for merit's sake will be to overlook one state so as to take as many as merited in other states.
let's not 4get they have laid down rules &have repeatedly said it will be strictly on MERIT. Let's trust them as some of us here have confirmed their impartiality as I personally don't bliv we can deceive ourselves here in that wise.
