dustmalik: Those speed based plans by MTN are not unlimited. The 40k plan has an FUP (Fair Usage Policy) of 400GB, while the 65k plan has an FUP of 800GB. Once you have reached the FUP, the speed is reduced to, I think, 5Mbps or something. But it's fair |

NSEstudent: Airtel's is better. MTN capped theirs at 150GB and a paltry 2GB per day after that. Still 30k.
Airtel is 20mbs and unstated 1TB cap, after which speed reduces for some people (because some also say they use up to 4TB per month) 400gb and 800gb actually, not 150gb |

I recently had the pleasure of working with @AutoConsult for the inspection of a new car I was considering purchasing. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
He is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. He approached the inspection with a calm demeanor, which immediately put me at ease. His expertise was evident as he meticulously examined every aspect of the vehicle, from the engine to the interior features.
What impressed me the most was his honesty. After the inspection, he provided a detailed report, highlighting both the strengths and any potential issues of the car. His transparency and willingness to answer all my questions gave me confidence in making an informed decision.
If you need a reliable and honest car inspection, I highly recommend him. His professionalism and integrity are truly commendable. Thank you, @AutoConsult, for your outstanding service and God bless you! |

Workch: dude, I know c#, if I sit down with c++ in a month, I go know am to a professional level.
And I mean it. Professional level means that I can build anything with it. Although experience will still count with regards to those who have been using it for a while but nothing will be a mystery to me in C++.
The way I attack leaning knew tech technology is violent and I'm not joking. I will be on it day and night for 1 month.
In programming, you don't have to know eveything. You only need to understanding of programming, that's enough to be a professional programmer in any language because it's almost the same problem solving approach. How would you be able to manage that with your job anyway. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Learning How To Code Is Still Very Lucrative. by teewhydope(m): 11:46pm On May 26, 2024 |
Maj196: I don't even think there's anything as a professional level, in as much as you can build something reasonable with the language you're good, there's too much to learn. Thought process and quality of code distinguish a beginner from a professional. Not saying what the op is saying isn't possible but it'll give a lot of people false sense of reality about programming. I can easily grasp the basics of most PL in my domain in less than a week using tutorialspoint, and maybe additional 2 weeks to fully understand it using YT videos, but the main challenge is when you start to dive deeper into the framework. Every framework is different from each other and to be confident/get used to a new framework takes time and practise. You can build something, but nothing meaningful in your first month. But where i'll agree with the OP is, understanding basics, principles, and best pratices of your main language will make it easy to transition to another. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Learning How To Code Is Still Very Lucrative. by teewhydope(m): 10:27pm On May 26, 2024 |
Maj196: I think the OP mean is to understand the basics of programming not just learning programming languages. When you understand the basics and concepts of programming you would be able to learn any language and framework. However, the time to master each language varies due to several factors like time devotion and language complexity. Yes, the basis will help to get you started, but the OP saying a programmer will understand a new PL to a professional level after a month is far-fetched. |

Workch: The issue we have now is that many people want to learn how to code instead of learning how to program.
Companies are looking for programmers and not coders, and you may be wondering that what's the difference...
Programming a skill that involving using programming principles and critical thinking to solve real world problems while coding involves actually writing the codes. No one ever survives a a coder in the industry.
As ab experienced programmer, I have tried training people on how to program but a lot of them are just to hasty to be writing codes and eventually they get frustrated then end up dumping tech or running away to UI/UX.
The beauty of programming is that, if you master the skill, you can easily grasp any programming language because the idea is the same in almost every programming language but the syntaxes are different.
Programming is hard, is a way of thinking and is a skill you need to learn. The moment you get it, you will become a problem solver that is valuable to many companies. Someone that is already good in programming using python will understand, to a professional level C#, C++ or any other language in less than 1 month of studying.
These are the guys companies are looking for and not people who just want to code. Forget about the actual codes and learn the concept of programming, the sky will be your limit because these syntaxes will come to you naturally as you see them often. What do you mean by "to a professional level", you better stop deceiving people and yourself, i learnt kotlin in just a month but not to a professional level, i'm still learning till today, and the learning will never stop unless you want to be average, so stop capping. Assuming you mentioned dart or kotlin or even swift, it'd have made sense because they share similar syntax, but no way you'll learn and understand c++ or any other LLL in a month after starting with JS which is not even similar. And stop making emphasis on oop , there's more to programming than oop and basis, you didn't even mention clean architecture or data structure & algorithm, that's why we have half baked codes all over the place. |
