Many people are unemployed due to the mass layoff and restructuring that happened last year, so unless you have many years of experience, based abroad, or too good, then the chances of securing a foreign gig is tiny but not impossible

Do you think hiring companies give out code challenges to every candidate who applied for a position? Hundreds or thousands of candidates will apply and then they choose a few number to progress to the next round. From the things you said I should be the one telling you you ain't in tech and not aware of how things work. Please it's absolutely wrong for you to say their is space for every software engineer on Earth. Many software engineers are still unemployed. Just correct yourself.

The space i mean is for anyone to learn, i didn't say getting a job is guaranteed and i understand the market is saturated. some 4 years ago, I proceed straight to the interview stage whenever i apply for a Flutter dev role, but right now, you'd see 200 applications in just 1hr and the salary has also dropped, so i switched to native mobile development. Doesn't mean i don't get any Flutter job offers again, but 95% of them are through referrals. Though you're right that Job is now hard to secure unlike before, but everything will be back to normal by next year. I've also had my own share of all these but that doesn't mean i should prevent others from learning it...it's a free world, the country is hard enough already.

If you know your onions, i see no reason why you should be scared. Tech companies knows how to weedout incompetent programmers using coding challenge, so you should rather focus on that. And if you feel the pressure is too high, learn solidity, golang, rust... you won't have a lot of competition unlike php, js, and mobile development

Stop advertising it. If more people enter programming and saturate it the competition will become stiffer and they might even dislodge you and you eventually become jobless.

You're either dumb or not into tech. Why would an experienced programmer care about newbies, the tech space is enough to accommodate everyone.

Yes, mine is 5g enabled but no 5G network yet. you'll need to wait till MTN sort it out with samsung. shouldn't take too long tho

I haven't confirmed that info but it'll be somewhat of a disappointment if true. I currently do 600 - 700GB monthly in my household. With a little more devices and individuals, we can easily pass 1TB and I would think Unlimited should mean Unlimited at least with a company like Starlink.

Only the speed will be reduced a little, doesn't mean internet will stop. Moreso your usage between 11 pm and 7 am will not count towards the data limit.

That doesn't sound nice.

Haba 1TB is enough imo. And if your location is not congested your speeds won’t change. They would only change if other users with higher priority use up all capacity leaving less for you.

next time, you don't buy that variety of beans. reminds me of a time back in '02 when my dad brought home a weird variety of beans. he had warned that it will take time to cook and we should at any point in time use the gas cooker, we should use electricity instead. i never expected we will take the whole day cooking darn beans!!! the whole thing took about 8 hours , we kept adding water, adding water, adding water. the thing no gree soft . we had to change pots twice along the line cos it got burnt. by the time it was cooked, we were so disgusted by it, it was only my dad that ate it. years later we realised that it was a tactic he used for us to stay indoors cos he was not used to leaving us alone for so long

What you need to do is register in a gym near you. From your post, I believe you're in Nigeria. If so I'd advise you get a home gym instead. Start by buying a set of barbell weights as gym membership might be on the high side for you. The last time I shopped at the mall I got them for N25k, should be higher now. Also get a set of dumbbell curl. If you can afford a bench pressing chair, good, else get a locally made one. My first bench was made by my furniture man.

Train 30-45mins three times a week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Here's my current routine; it's beginner friendly too. I got them from a strenght training website. Google GOMAD.

Monday: Squat, Bench-Press, Barbell-Rows
Wednesday: Squat, Overhead-Press, Dead-Lift, Pull-ups
Friday: Squat, Bench-Press, Barbell-Rows

Those will give you what you're looking for. Go on Youtube and watch how to do each of the exercises properly. Don't forget to Google GOMAD too.

I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables - make banana your best friend. I also take a multivitamin. If you're not looking to spend much, buy Omega H3 and supradin. Also consider supplementing your diet, I'll post the ones I use and recommend later on.

I've also learnt it's good to break down your meals to 5-6 parts a day, meaning; eat 6 times everyday. Not just anyhow Nigerian meal. Eat beans, start taking oat meal in the morning instead of eba, make chicken & turkey your all time buddies. Beef too is very good. Try googling "proteinous meals", and see if you can get/afford some of them in Nigeria.

Ok guys, I solved an hackerrank question today using nested loops, would have loved to optimize the run time a bit but no time. Sometimes I wonder if all solutions can be improved from say from O(n^2) to maybe O(logn/n) using recursion?

Well I think some problems can't really be optimized, there is a particular one I read in grokking algorithm, can't remember properly about distance; maybe shortest distance to deliver goods to an end point where we have to check every available routes; can't remember... would have loved to re-check but no time.

My question is how one can identify such problems so we don't spend unnecessary time thinking of how to optimizing codes....anyways am not sure of what am saying sef.

DSA is hard, that's why you something like algoexpert or an advance course from udemy to understand how to approach each problems. coding sites like hackerranks/leetcodes don't really help much for a beginners since you'll only just dive into problem solving

Yes for a clean build, but 15-20 seconds gain is not something you can live with. I use a 32gb ram mac so i hardly have to worry about compilation time except for very large projects which takes close to 10mins

If I were you, I would go for java first then kotlin second.

Lol stop trolling, except for companies that doesn't want to migrate their legacy codes to kotlin yet (mostly sdks), you have no reason developing new android apps with java. There's more to learn with kotlin... jetpack compose, kotlin multiplatform mobile etc.

I sha proceeded with the assessment, which was the first stage.

It was a 1hr+ test on hackerrank. The test was to complete an album store that would return the list of users and music. Omo.

Me wey no get rigorous experience, I sha attempt am. Na only onclick event I managed to write.

I gave up on the test. I never Sabi reach that level naa.
Now I can't try again until 3 months time. Mtcheew. Who cares. I move on jare.

I would advise you not to move on yet unless you want to be stuck with NG jobs which will only pay you peanuts, you have to keep challenging yourself with DSA and trust me, every foreign jobs requires it. i moved from junior to mid-level dev within six months and now i only consider full remote or contract NG jobs.

this is the first house the agent took me too when i was hunting sometimes ago, i hated it instantly and warned the agent not to try that rubbish with me again. I can't rent that lodge even if I'm out of options
