US Secret. Service says a letter addressed to President Obama containing a suspicious substance has been intercepted at a Postal Screening centre in Maryland.

A letter is intercepted at a remote facility a day after another letter sent to a US senator is confirmed to contain ricin.
A letter with a "suspicious substance" has been sent to President Barack Obama, says the US Secret Service.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan says the letter was intercepted at a facility away from the White House. He says the letter was received Tuesday.

The development comes a day after lawmakers said a separate letter was mailed to a US senator that tested positive for poisonous ricin. Another senator said police have a suspect in mind.

Tensions have been high in Washington and across the US since the deadly bombings on Monday at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured more than 170.

BOSTON—Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.

Competitors and race organizers were crying as they fled the chaos. Bloody spectators were being carried to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners.

"There are a lot of people down," said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg. A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

About three hours after the winners crossed the line, there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Another thunderous explosion could be heard a few seconds later.

Runner Laura McLean of Toronto said she heard two explosions outside the medical tent.

"There are people who are really, really bloody," Ms. McLean said. "They were pulling them into the medical tent."

Cherie Falgoust was waiting for her husband, who was running the race.

"I was expecting my husband any minute," she said. "I don't know what this building is ... it just blew. Just a big bomb, a loud boom, and then glass everywhere. Something hit my head. I don't know what it was. I just ducked."

Two explosions has just been recorded in Boston marathon near the finish line. Several injuries have been reported. The news is rolling in more. Just saw this on BBC and Aljazeera.

Hoodlums popularly known as Area Boys yesterday destroyed properties and also injured many people in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos.

The hoodlums were said to have invaded four streets in Akoka and Pedro area destroying about a hundred vehicles, according to reports.

Trouble started when the men poured into the streets ostensibly to hold a candle-light procession for a man simply identified as Old school. The man was said to have been stabbed by some youth during a rally organised by the Local Government Chairman, Gbolahan Bago-Stowe, to mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Solanke Street.

Old school later died on Easter Sunday.

Street urchins in the area, apparently on a reprisal attack, stormed the area late last Sunday and the early hours of Monday leaving in their wake a tale of woes ad destruction.

Ernest Molokwu, a commercial bus driver who, lives in the area said his bus was vandalised and he was beaten mercilessly by the hoodlums.

“I was at the balcony of my house when I saw the hoodlums. Knowing what they can do, I tried to drive my bus away from my street, but they caught up with me and beat me up. They also broke the windscreen of my bus. As it is now, I cannot work today(Monday).”

While narrating the incident, another resident of the area, Adekunle Ogunkoya said, “On March 29, 2013, the Chairman of Somolu LG, Mr Bago-Stowe, along with some members of his cabinet, held a rally to mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

“The rally was also a part of an annual carnival known as Humani Street Day Carnival. This attracted many youths who marched through the streets.

“Some of the youths, Rasaki Oseni (aka Elewure); Kunle Eyin Bouncing and Olumide Ogbor, who are members of a gang known as EFCC boys in company with their members from Somolu, marched down to Akoka which is the stronghold of another cult known as Alora boys.

“At Akoka, the EFCC boys taunted the Alora boys. On getting to Solanke Street, the hoodlums clashed and Old Skool, who is a member of the EFCC boys, was stabbed. He was rushed to a hospital where he died two days after.”

Ogunkoya said after the incident, some of the hoodlums were arrested but were later released.

He said, “At about 10pm on Sunday, some friends of Old Skool held a candlelight procession in his honour. But it was a decoy because after sometime, they dropped their candles and started vandalising the vehicles parked on the streets. They also beat up some of us.”

The LGA Chairman later visited the affected areas on Monday assuring the residents that the perpetrators will be brought to book. He appealed to the residents to co-operate with law enforcements agents to ensure that this is achieved.

He said, “The residents are not helping at all. They know these hoodlums and where they live. If these hoodlums are arrested, I promise to make sure that they are prosecuted. I will hold a meeting with OP-MESA, the police and the Community Development Association to make sure that we put an end to this problem.

“As regards the community centre, I don’t believe it is a criminals’ hideout. There are many of such in various parts of the state. Ours was built for recreational purposes.”

As for me this man called Gbolahan Bago-Stowe is a waster of resources.

When next I am coming to this universe, I prefer another galaxy. I am tired of this projected timing of events in this old-school universe. 2045 is past tense in other galaxies and here we are promising a breakdown termed breakthrough. In fact by my telepathic enquiry, I already foresaw a failure in d project.
