DanHaske: Some things we need to consider, someone works with MTN and is based in Gombe, his pay check gets prepared in Lagos and he is payed from there. Which state does his taxes get remitted to? Lagos. Most bank staff are outsourced and almost all outsource companies are based in Lagos. Who do they remit the income tax of their company to? That is a false statement. PAYE is remitted by the employer to their place of residence or principal place of residence if the determination of their place of residence is not easy. And MTN is not stupid, they know the address of their staff and they know where to remit for their employees. If not, each state will bombard them with letters demanding bogus tax. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Have You Ever Asked God, "Why Is My Own Case Different?" by tejpot(m): 9:09am On Nov 07, 2021 |
jesusjnr2020: I don't know about you, but I've had been through many situations that had made me ask God why my case is different, and why He treats me differently from others. The things He would allow others get away with as if it's no big deal, in my own case it would become a big deal, as He wouldn't spare me, but ensure that i fully paid and am punished for it.
But when It comes to the benefits or gifts, and rewarding me for what I do or get right, it turns to the exact opposite. God becomes as sparing as possible, that even those He treats with a soft hand and not a hard one like myself, have been often observed to yet get benefits and rewards from God much quickly and easily that It is with me.
I even observed some difference with how God dealt with me from some of the men that walked with Him in the Bible, that I would a times use them as example to illustrate this in my prayer to Him. For instance, I would speak about Moses, and tell to deal with me as He did with Moses, but He'd tell me that I'm not Moses. When I say Abraham, he'd say the same thing. Even the apostles who I happen to be in the same era of the Kingdom of God with, it would still be the same response.
It was something that really confused me, as I just couldn't understand why, but I as kept pondering on this things on a certain day, I suddenly found myself walking in the middle of a big congregation. People were sat to the left and right of me, but on the stage which was in front of me, I saw a throne, the throne was so gigantic, heavenly and glorious.
It appeared everlasting as it covered the whole stage, from top to bottom and from right to left, the people who sat there seemed like dust ants before the throne. It was a really glorious sight, and there seemed to be a sort of cloudy mist that hovered around the throne, which made it difficult for me to clearly see Who was seated on the throne, but I think i could see part of the legs of the Person, around the knee part that folded on the seat, which was clothed in a white robe.
Meanwhile, as i was walking down the isle, being ushered by angels, I suppose, to where I would be seated, we came to the second row, and my head turned to the left, and i set my eyes on one of the apostles, the one who many Christians view as the greatest of them all, seated there. I don't know exactly why that had to catch my eye and why i was made to see that, but I have a feeling it was deliberate.
I think while i was still looking in his direction, i went past that row as I was being ushered to the front row. And as I had taken a left turn, I suppose, to where I would be seated, that was when I realized that it was a dream or trance, as I came back to myself. It was really brief though, but it seemed to bear much significance.
So it appeared that was God's response to my question, as to, why my case was different and why He was treating me differently from others. It was because He was preparing me for the front row.
I can remember the place where it was said that the mum of 2 of the disciples of Jesus, had come to Him and asked Him to grant them that they sat at His left and right when He comes in His kingdom, but Jesus said that they didn't know what they asked for, because there was a very high price to pay, to be granted that request. Moreover, that it wasn't His to give, "but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father." Matthew 20:23
Therefore it's not up to men to determine where any man sits in the kingdom of God, but up to God and God alone, and He's the One that's preparing me to be seated in the front row in His Kingdom, which comes with a very high price. That's the reason He's treating me differently from other men and why my case is different.
The irony of this is that what God is doing is actually an answer to my prayers, because I am the one that keeps asking Him to take me through whatever I needed to go through to becomes everything and nothing short of what He desires for me to be. I asked Him not to spare me just as He did for His Son, Jesus, because I know it wasn't easy for Him but He did what He had to do for the good of His Son, so thay He should do likewise for me.
But when He begins to answer my prayers, I would start crying, lol, like "why Lord?" That's why I ask Him for the grace to be able to go through what I needed to go through to become all He deserved for me to be for His Own glory, because I know that at the end of it all, I would be grateful to Him, because I would be able to see the distinctive results of why He treated me differently and that it was for my own.

So i applied for my passport and my daughter's using two different agents at Ikoyi. We captured on the same day, but my passport was ready within 7weeks of capture while her own was not ready even five weeks after. The status was on AA for over 8weeks. The agent I used for her was a pure scam, she made no move whatsoever for my daughter's passport to be ready. She kept saying, its only people that paid extra that get their own. I became a frequent visitor in Ikoyi office. I visited the Servicom unit for the umpteenth time. They keep tossing me around. ......Her NIN might not have dropped.... Contact your agent.......Go to the PCO's office......yen yen yen. At the PCO'S office they will tell you go back to SERVICOM. So I went there today as early as 7:25am inspired by corleone427, It was same old story. While it was raining, I carried my baby inside the rain and approached the PCO, the comptroller and their entourage on their way to conduct an on-the-spot check in preparation for a visit by the minister of interior today. He collected the slip and my daughter's passport was ready within 3 hours, what I waited for 3 months to be ready. I only waited extra hours for it to be released and activated.
A man in that PCO'S office ensured the process was smooth but rejected my token of appreciation.
I rest my case.... |

MaryBenn: Please o. It's 7 weeks now after capturing in Ikoyi. They said my passport is showing AA- affix approved meaning it's in production but when it'll be ready is what they don't know. Someone even asked me to pay 10K as they're neglecting those who don't pay and producing only those that have paid. I'm tired of this country. Biko what do I do? DIY or agent? |
Travel › Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by tejpot(m): 1:57pm On Aug 19, 2021 |
Let me enlighten us about the little I know about Ikoyi. There are 3 classes of people processing their passports in Ikoyi.
1. DIY 2. Using an agent 3. Using a greedy agent
If you are doing DIY, you are in the same class as number 3. The greedy agents will help you sort your files, do the registration for you on their portals and get you a capture date. After capturing, the agent either hands over your file to you or takes it and not follow up with their colleagues. They drop the file with the general DIY applicants. The standard way for your agent to follow up is to tip the people in charge of production. Then this proceeds on a first come first serve basis. If not, the file will remain in production room until mandate is given for clearing backlog again. And except the file has problem, it will eventually be attended to, but only God knows when. But once your file is in production room, it is almost impossible to retrieve for fast tracking again. According to information received from servicom, there is backlog in passport offices generally, with Ikoyi alone having 10k files outstanding. All the passport offices have now been given booklets and mandated to clear all backlogs in 2 weeks. They are currently working 24hrs round the clock to meet this target.
I hope this is helpful. |

aribisala0: What has synonyms got to do with names??
The Bible was not written in English
Delilah is an Anglicized form
"Delilah" the character in the Bible WAS NOT HEBREW she was a "Philistine"> We know that the Hebrews and Philistines were neighbours and they could communicate. The Hebrew language was always under pressure from its neighbours and became extinct gradually Jesus did not speak Hebrew. He spoke Aramaic. So we know that many Semites share a lot of manes in common but may have pronounced them differently e.g Yousef, Moshe, Abraham , Sulayman etc The point of interest here is not anglicised names. The name Delilah has a Hebrew origin even though she is a Philistine. And there are equally a number of foreigners with Hebrew names too. It is also not clear if their was a language attributable to Philistia. |

Kobojunkie: Mistake? The thesaurus clearly tells you that the word "Delicate" and "feeble" are synonyms, and you are still yapping on about what again?
Please go waste someone else's time with this ridiculousness ojare! Let me quickly add that that a word is synonymous with another word does not mean the same as that word. Not all synonymous word can replace their counterparts in a sentence. In different contexts synonymous words mean different things. In my high school English tests and exams, the instruction about synonyms for sentences is usually **Replace with a word that means the same thing (synonym) and can replace the word in the sentence** This is different from **replace with the synonym** Although your claim that Delilah can mean delicate might be correct but might be wrong to say it means same as feeble. The best meaning of Delilah I got is from Hebrew origin. From an obscure Hebrew word often said to mean "delightful, seductive".....Wikitionary |

The article is defective and inconclusive. Any data generated by the figures utilized in this report cannot produce a good judgement of things. Lagos generated over 600bn IGR in previous fiscal year, and the debt profile is over 800bn. Add 600bn to 117bn federal allocation, that's 717bn revenue for Lagos. If this is corrected for, Lagos has a revenue debt ratio of 25.3 percent |

Incognito403: He really needs to resign.
Looking at the comments above, it's obvious that 90% of NLers don't read articles, they only read the title and comment crap.
The man resigned because of his foul speech not because of the power failure. He's human and it's absolutely normal to err. But when you err you should have good words to apologize and calm the people. But, no, he went vulgar like MNK and Donald Trump. That's why he resigned.
Even Nigerian politicians don't utter this kind of thrash at their followers. The person who tried something similar to that ended up losing his gubernatorial and senatorial elections.
Little wonder journalists deliberately choose sensational but misleading headlines then hide the fact deep in the article. They know 90% of people won't read beyond the title and first paragraph.
Yet, it's this 90% that will be commenting and forming expertise on NL and Twitter. That statistics was understated. 98.9% don't read articles before commenting crap. |
