He is trying so hard to create the Dasuki gate missing 2 billion dollars. Anyway, I still believe this man is working for PBAT. You don't have to believe me.
I like the idea of the response just to balance things out from perspectives, but the spirit of the response is rather harsh and too defensive. One would expect the response to cite examples of how other foods from the north fill the gaps of the other foods not so much liked. Or
Discountsempai: It had nothing to do with Onan spilling his seed, and the verse in question had nothing to do with masturbation (and no, I am not excusing masturbation...especially as I have never engaged in it, because quite frankly it does not make sense).
Onan was supposed to marry his late brother's wife, and under the customs of that time, the first child he had with his wife would be counted as his brother's child (strange to us, but in a society with high child mortality, and a concern over keeping lineages alive...).
Onan refused to do that because (as the verses imply)...he hated his brother Er. So, out of bitterness, he denied Er THE RIGHT TO KEEP his lineage alive.
Essentially, what Onan also was doing was
1. Denying Tamar the right to have a child...in a society where barreness was a BIG STIGMA. (See how Jacob, Onan's grandpa, wife Rachel felt about having no kids...and later on Hannah. And even Sarah, Onan's great-great grandmother).
2. Essentially telling his father that he wanted both his and Er's inheritance...ie greed. If he had done what he was supposed to do, then when Judah died, his (Onan's) firstborn son would have gotten Er's portion of the inheritance. By having no kids, he gets a dobule portion.
3. Essentially commiting an injustice to his late brother and dishonoring his memory.
Thus..as the bible put it in Genesis 38 vs 8-10
8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also
So, nothing to do with seed or with masturbation as the OP thinks it does.
At its base it is a story about how harmful greed and resentment can be. And how wickedness also can provoke resentment (Er is described as a wicked man, so it is obvious that he was wicked to his two younger brothers, breeding anger and resentment).
MODIFIED
Still on point 2...I also suspect that Onan's actions implied that he was waiting for his father to die, so that he could then inherit Er's inheritance and his, and then marry anyone he wanted. Again, self centeredness.
Also, I have seen some grumbles about Judah suffering no consequences for eventually sleeping with Tamar (yes, he was decieved into it, but if he had no roving eyes, .). I don't think the bible approves of the man's actions...it just shows that if Er had not been wicked, or Onan had put aside bitterness and done his duty, Judah sleeping with Tamar would have never arisen.
Anatolia: As long as you are profiting from a clueless government, you are happy. Your happiness is only temporary. It’s is a shame that you are gloating over politicians who lack integrity. For you anything goes as far as you win. No moral compass.
Seems like you are temporarily sad. And temporary sadness with uncertain future is even 'sadder'. Wishing you luck in getting out of this vicious bubble.
I believe the so called supporters of HellPee are just delusional to believe they can build a theoretical structure from anger combined with ignorance. Now the pseudo structure is collapsing in there own very eyes.
A Nigerian, Babajide Oluwaseyi, recently distinguished herself and her country at the University of Birmingham's graduation ceremony, emerging as the top student in her class.
As a Master's degree graduate, she stands among her peers as a beacon of excellence and resilience.
In her inspiring graduation speech, she detailed the unique challenges she faced due to a visual degenerative condition, which necessitated dedicating double the usual time to her studies and assignments.
Her difficulty in reading notices and signs further compounded these challenges. Despite these hurdles, her journey exemplifies unwavering perseverance and tenacity.
Concluding her address, she encouraged her fellow graduates to become agents of positive change in the world and urged them to transcend any limitations they may encounter. Commenting on her speech the school Chancellor commended her inspiring speech and referred the graduates to imbibe all points raised in Oluwaseyi's speech.
I understand so many people want to advise Lagos state on practically everything. I will advise they start small. When they have achieved relevance and impact they can then scale up to a place like Lagos.
SharingIsLife: If you are good and fair offline, you can never need to seek relationships online no matter how ugly, poor, or deformed you are. I stand to be corrected if you think I'm wrong on this.
I have a contrary opinion. I think every community should be sane enough to welcome people, irrespective of there look, whether online or offline. A part of the man might be disabled but the mental state of a non- welcoming community is even more disabled.
I support this totally. The world is focusing too much on productivity to justify remuneration at the expense of work-life balance which is the essence of existence. Even nature itself is an evidence of balance, no season lasts forever.
