I ask if you are pregnant because, from my perspective I think you overreacted. In my culture, that is not negotiated, especially if you are married. So, i expect you to understand such.

The issue of negotiation should not arise, for crying out loud his father being esan automatically gives the baby an esan first name and surname. You would agree this two are the most important names, so what is so bad in his mum wanting him to have a yoruba name? She and her parents mit even be the only ones that would actually be calling him by that name. The fact that she is demanding this does not mean she in anyway showing she is the man of the house.
Haba Men sha. I which the table could be turned round and let men go thru pregnancy and labor you wld realise that this small demands by mothers is not too much to indulge them with.

All you need to do is to get an agreement drawn up and executed by both of you clearly stating all the terms both of you agreed upon. No stone should be left unturned with respect to the terms you agreed upon because an agreement would be read literally and nothing not explicitly stated would be read into it.
With this written agreement you would be able to enforce all the terms stated in case things go wrong. Get your lawyer to do this because only an agreement executed by a lawyer would be valid. Make sure the agreement is executed even bfor you release your funds but if you have alredy released your funds get it done as soon as possible because if anything goes wrong no court would entertain you if their is no written agreement because this would actually be your only evidence to the terms you both agreed upon.

netsurf: seems you are the 'only' reasonable person around...that mistake is common around here...just accept it and learn...no one is an island of knowledge... besides, it's not meant to degrade you in any way.

again, that should be 'that it is a mere typographical error'....you ought to have added an 'it' before 'is' to make it something a 'reasonable person' could understand.

OGA TSAAAAAA!!! I am highly disappointed.... Even a kindergateen child should be very familliar with the following illustrations:
THAT IS a house
THAT IS oga tshaaaaaaaaaaa
Now oga tshaaa, what is so difficult to comprehend in 'THAT IS a mere typographical error'?
Sir!!! Emphasizes is laid on 'THAT IS'.
Is there no difference between
it is quite glaring to every reasonable person THAT IS oga tsaaaaaa's house .
AND
it is quite glaring to every reasonable person that it is oga tsaaaaa's house.
The sense i employed 'THAT IS' in my sentence should be easily comprehendable with the above illustration.
Oga tsaaaa! I would have loved to seek the leave of the court before correcting my nairaland tsaaaaa but time would not permit me. So in this vein, with all due respect let me quickly draw your attention to this:
if i have to incorporate 'it' as you suggested into my sentence then the sentence should be .............. that 'IT WAS A MERE TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR' and not 'IT IS.............' as suggested by you.
Sir!!! The latter would not suffice for past tense and am sure you would agree with me that IT IS A MERE TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR would not suffice for a past post of mine.
Moreso, my tshaaaaa! The same appplies to a whole OGA TSAAAAAA'S post ......... It is not meant to degrade you........
SIR!!! You were referring to past tense ( a post priorly posted) , dont you think it would have been more appropriate to incorporate' IT WAS' not meant to degrade.......
Anyway as you rightly said, ........no one is an island of knowledge.........
but it is quiet funny that such gross errors should be coming from an oga tshaaaaaa that can spare so much time in
fishing out minor mistakes in peoples posts,taking out time to highlight those errors and even insisting further that it is not a mistake but a common......
Such a tshaaa that voluntarily decided to take up this role is supposed to know better than..........

The important thing is the percentage you have paid to the probate. Anybody , be it close friends or relative can stand in as your surety. The whole purport of an agreement is to ensure strict compliance with its terms and a legal action can be instituted where there is a breach of any of its terms. Then the terms of an agreement would also be read literally. Thus, what is not categorically stated as part of the terms can not be assumed simply because a similar provision made further provisions. Thus, in this vein if the agreement didnt state three months salary can be given in lieu of three months notice then this would nt suffice. Hope have been able to shed light on this for you.
