Enter Obalende Bus at Yaba. Stop at last bus stop. Then ask where you can enter Bonny Camp/Ozumba. Once the bus takes off, just tell the Driver you are going to Walter Carrington or US Embassy.

Not a problem at all.
You can state in your Ds-160 you want to interview in Abuja and then change to interview in Lagos while scheduling appointment.
You can schedule anywhere. Pick whatever date you see there, and when your program start date is within 60 days, request for an expedited appointment and it will be granted.

Please I need your opinion, I started my application stating I would be having the visa interview in Abuja but for days I've been unable to schedule an appointment, I've been unable to get a near date. Can I try scheduling in Lagos? will it in any way affect my application? I'm yet to schedule any dates since I've not found a near date.

At the end of the day, you will still need to book an emergency once your state date is within 60 days.
The emergency requesting works smoothly. Once you request, it will be granted in less than 12 hours and you will be presented with dates closer than the regular booking. I am certain of what i am saying because i requested emergency and will be interviewing this month (Summer 2021)

Based on what I have heard about unavailability of date in Lagos consular office, Would you advise me to schedule a date at lagos and reschedule within 60days to start of program or directly apply to Abuja office and hope you get a date around May/June.

How well does the emergency rescheduling works..

Why not just book whatever date you see and then request for Emergency appoointment when your program start date is close (within 60 days)?

Where did you get this from ? This is simply no true.
The only grounds on which your emergency requested can be rejected (As an F1 Visa seeking student) is if it comes outside of the 60 days prior to resumption window (or your original scheduled date is more than 30 days before your program starts). And even in that case, you can re-request an emergency if your first one is denied.

They don't give your "emergency dates". When your emergency request is granted, you would still be the one to select the interview date you want. Only that the dates will now be very closer than your initial booking.

Focus your energy on chasing your school to send your transcript. You could also mention the school and someone here might have scaled through this challenge you have.
As for the interview dates, why would you say you don't want amergency ? To book an emergency appointment, you first need to book the earliest date available (January 2022 or July 2021 in your case here). Then when your program start date is within 60 days, you can request for an emergency appointment and it will be granted in less than 12 hours.

Got Fall admission and graduate assistantship, with a full tuition waiver, living expenses, housing and flight.
My school seems to be delaying the sending of my transcript to the US, and of course without it, they will not release the I-20. My school intends to email the I-20 so I'm sure to get it with 48 hours of transcript getting there. I need that I-20 like yesterday...
I can already see interview dates in Lagos showing January 2022 (too late), and Abuja showing July, still too late. I don't want emergency.

This is simple. Book that January you are seeing like that. When you program start date is within 60 days, you can request for an emergency appointment (there is a tab to request in your portal). The emergency request will be granted in less than 12 hours and you will be provided with dates very close to the date you requested your emergency.

I am for Summer 2021 (program start date of May 26th). I initially got interview date of May 4th, but i requested for emergency this past Monday and got a new date of April 6th.
