Yes. You have to fill a new DS-160.

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 10:25am On May 22, 2023
You have to be fast about it and save every page before clicking next. There is no remedy to it.

Winas2:
Good morning. Please somebody help me. I have been trying to fill my ds160. Is not going through. Always log me out. Who has experience this and what did you do. Pls help a brother.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE:
If your Brother has ever filled your name in any form before while he was moving to the USA, it's in your best interest to go and fill a new DS-160 and include his name in your DS-160. The VOs have these information at their fingertips and if they ask you about it (do you have a family member in the US?) during your interview, they are trying to see if you will lie about it and if you do, that alone is grounds for visa denial.

Talk to your Brother.
- Has he ever filled your name on any form ?
- Has he previously overstayed a visa prior to getting citizenship ?
- Does he have a clean record in the US ?
- Has he filed for you before?

Answering the above questions will guide you as to how to prepare to the eventuality of being asked about your family members in the US.

0izuchukwu:
Please I need your help.
I have a brother is a US Citizen. while completing my DS 160 I did not include his name. What do I do. How do I answer questions relating to siblings during my interview.

While it’s okay to have a connecting flight to your final destination through another city, don’t go and tell CBP official at the POE that you are going to see a friend first oo

.
FloroFlores:
And while we’re at it, how safe do y’all think it is to be admitted to a university in Michigan, but to land in Texas to visit a friend for a week before school (so he can help me setup my phone and bank account). Is it grounds to be denied entry at the port of entryhuh

I need people’s experiences

Lmaoo. Where do you people hear things like this ?

If you like, depart for Yankee from your village, e no concern anybody.

FloroFlores:
So if I complete my interview and get my visa in Lagos, can I book my international flight and takeoff from Abuja??

Heard it somewhere, sometime ago that it cannot happen.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 7:31pm On May 19, 2023
1. It's normal. Keep looking. Closer dates will appear. Join dates search whatsapp groups.

2. 60 days from the earliest admission date.

AZzoe:
Hello guys...
Thank you fir this forum.

Please I have two concerns and will appreciate your input.

1. After you scheduled for a f1 visa date and was giving a farther date, when you want to reschedule, has it happened that the date shown was closer? Or kept going farther

2. When are you supposed to book for EA visa? 60days within "Earliest admission date" or "start of class date"?

Thank you so much
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 10:48am On May 19, 2023
Yes. You can.

All you need to pay for your visa fee is your name and passport number.

Teddiement:
Hello. Pls is it possible to pay visa fee before obtaining form I-20?
Though I'm still awaiting the issuance of my form I-20, but I want to pay the visa fee before it's increase to $180 by May 30th.
Thanks.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 3:53pm On May 18, 2023
Yes, if you use locally based travel agencies (E.g Travelbeta, wakanow etc)

Rayhanna:
Hi guys, please is there a way to pay for flight to US wiwith the use of naira card?
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 4:01pm On May 17, 2023
It's not an oversight.

That is the SEVIS name of the course your friend is going to study. It's not an issue at all. Every course in any University in the US is attached to a course code/name in the SEVIS system.

Check page 16 of this document for more clarity https://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/batch_api_6.55_10162020_appf.pdf

punchyy:
@ everyone, my friend applied for Master's in Computer information systems, but when issued her 120 the major written was Computer information systems security/auditing/ Information assurance. Is this an oversight from the school ?any explanation for this.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 12:16pm On May 17, 2023
He needs to come out of that room and share his transript with you so you can share here (fi he plans to apply again). That's the only way anyone can be of help.

The letter is a generic document they give everyone they deny. It doesn't give details.

Share his transcript and people here can help point out inconsistencies and what can be improved upon.

Focus99:
My cousin was refused student visa yesterday. I have attached the refusal letter below.

What can he put together before reapplying for the visa and how soon can he reapply? Kindly see the letter and give me replies.

He his broken and has refused coming out from his room since yesterday.

I will be reading all reply. Thank you guys
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 10:41am On May 17, 2023
The VO will only check the details of your bank account if they ask for your bank statement and it is retained after your interview has ended. And in this case, you will be placed on "administrative processing" (not a denial/approval until they confirm a few details about you)

Clems81:
Good morning, pls I want to confirm if the VO check the balance on your account during the interview (that's after you gotten your I-20 form from your school).
Please I need an urgent reply, thanks.

It depends on the school you are applying. Every school has its own particular funding procedure. Check the websites of the schools.

Bigolly:
Please when do you apply for funding for masters admission in US, is it after you have been given admission?
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 11:50am On May 16, 2023
Use Pay4me App.

verminnel:

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 9:56am On May 14, 2023
Of course, they give Visas to loan-financed students (check previous threads about F1 visa on here) but be ready to explain how you plan to pay back to the VO. You did not state your COA. If the loan amount is on the high side, chances of getting that Visa is reduced.

Your Sevis fee is valid for one year from the date of payment.

Best of luck!

Oabayomi24:
Hello everyone,

Please I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with this question:
My F1 visa got rejected last year December, so now I got an admission to a different school, and a loan too.
So I would like to know if they give visa to students who want to finance their education with loans, and what is the best plan I can use to convince the VO that I have to pay back the loan.
And also can I still use my last SEVIE receipt for my new VISA interview appointment?
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your contributions.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 9:48am On May 14, 2023
This year's fall ? That's almost impossible if you haven't applied already. Spring 2024 is a better shot but you should still hurry it up still. Every school has deadline for admissions (and funding application too).

Your eligibility for funding has no generic answer. Depends on the school (some give funding alongside admission, some ask you to apply seperately, some will request for essay, some GRE, some will invite you for an interview after giving you admission and applying for funding, some will combine some of the earlier mentioned), your own application (Degree transcript, professional work history, and how early you apply).

If Spring 2024 is your target, then you should already have target schools in mind and done some research on their admission and funding requirements (and deadlines).

Good morning guys. Thanks for this platform.

I am a 2.2 graduate of International studies and diplomacy. I have over 5 years banking experience and recently, over a year's supply chain experience. I've found supply chain to be quite fascinating and will like to proceed to the US for a masters program in supply chain.

Can I still meet up with this year's fall or next spring's intake?

Please do I stand any chance of getting funding?

I'll be glad to receive recommendations of schools I can apply to also.

Please help a brother 🙏🏾

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 7:45am On May 13, 2023
You need to have paid your Sevis fee before booking EA because you have to include your Sevis ID in the EA request form.

Keyin:
Including Emergency appointment? I mean can one who has not paid for sevis fee book EA?
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 10:55pm On May 12, 2023
It's not cast in stone. You can pay whenever you want. Just make sure you pay not later than 3 days before your interview.

ajayiolatunb:
Hello House,

Please I need your answer or opnion on this question.

'When is the appropriate time to pay for the Sevis Fee? it is while filling the D-160 or when one have confirmed date for the visa interview'.

Thanks.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 9:48pm On May 10, 2023
No, you are not.

Your program start date is 14th August. "Earliest admission date" means the date you are allowed to enter into the US. The 60 days rule is counted from your "program start date" and in your case, this will be 14th of June.

If you apply for emergency now, your request is going to be rejected and you will not be allowed to apply for another emergency appointment with the same Visa fee payment.

Keyin:
Good day. Please from my i-20 the earliest admission date is 15th of July and Program start date is 14th of August. Am i qualify to book for EA considering the 60 days clause for student to book for EA?

You will wait for a mail from CGI asking you to go on the portal to schedule your interview.

Nothing concerns the VO with any info you didn't put in your DS-160.

Maybe people dae ignore you because the question funny. No vex.

GirlyLois:
Please someone should answer me, everyone is just ignoring all my questions, I'm pleading.
House, I need your advice, my sponsors passport has expired but I need to know if he can still make use of it as I process my student visa or if he needs to renew it?
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 7:30am On May 08, 2023
It's not true that it has been expanded. It's still 60 days according to the emergency request page.
It's best you hold on till you are within that timeframe.

GFavor:
Hello House. Please I have a question, is it true US has expanded the ER to 90 days to Resumption. If my Earliest Resumption is 8th August, can I use my ER now.

I have used up my MRV and not able to Reshedule but I still have Emergency Request Option. This is my last Lifeline don't want to be refused the ER. Please house advise appropriately.

Not a problem at all. Just take both statements. I am not sure about "name" of sponsor appearing on i-20 though. Your mum's deficit cover should be under "family support" and in which case, your husband is also family. So mentioning both as sponsors is not an issue.

punchyy:
Go with both statements. Better to have both statements and not need it than the VO request for it and you don't have it. There is no red flag Your husband covering a part of your tuition/living expenses is even a more compeling story than a sponsor i want to assume is not in your nuclear family.

The first sponsor is my mum her name is already on the 120 and her bank statement covers the amount the school gave, can I just mention that is my mum and husband sponsoring me? Even when my husband's name is not on the 120, but also present his statement.

@ everyone, pls must the amount stated on the 120 by the school be the exact amount your sponsor is giving? Can sponsors amount be more? The amount my current sponsor is providing covers the stated amount by the school, I want to add another sponsor who is my husband. Will this impact negatively. Or I should just go also with hubby's bank statement , since he was not mentioned on the 120 as a sponsor. Pls I need urgent advice. N/B I don't have personal funds.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TEMIT0PE: 7:19am On May 03, 2023
Yes, except you have full funding that covers your tuition and living expenses

Please does every school request for proof of funds before issuing I 20?

Stay on the page.

Choose any date you see there, then apply for emergency appointment when you are within 60 days of your program start date (as stated on your i-20)

You don't need to join any group.

When your are within 60 days of your program start date, apply for an emergency appointment and you will be asked to reschedule. Closer dates will show up.

Nothing about this is cast in stone.
The deficit on your Form i-20 is the determining Factor.
