PoliticsRe: Whatever Happened To The Big Fat Lie That Osun Is The Richest State In Nigeria? by temitopeadeyemo: 1:33pm On Jan 04, 2018
A lot of people have problem with comprehension. No report has said Osun is the richest state in the country. One report measured human capital development, the other measured the poverty rate. What distinguishes Osun from the rest is not the number of rich people in the state but the number of poor people. Wealth is more evenly distributed in Osun more than any other state. If the total wealth of Osun, let's say is 10 million and this wealth is owned by 95 percent of the people, You will have an more wealthy population than another state where the wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few people.

I agree with the reports. All the capital projects embarked on by the state means more work for the people whether direct or indirect. The state may have borrowed money to do them but atleast we are seeing the result.

PoliticsKelechi Mbamnozie's Submission On Nnamdi Kanu by temitopeadeyemo(op): 12:25pm On Sep 19, 2017
Dear Nairalanders,

I read the below post on facebook and I thought to share. Please read with an open mind. We all lost an opportunity in Kanu to reshape this country. People like Nnamdi come once in a lifetime. The struggle was right, the strategy was wrong. Please enjoy

Kelechi Mbamnozie is an Igbo who works with the UN. Read his submission on Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu, the acclaimed leader of IPOB was not supposed to be in any hiding, never. The fact that he is not operating openly now tells you all something, he is on the wrong side of this agitation again. The struggle for self-determination even if possible, transcends beyond an individual. Kanu was advised to rally around the traditional and political leaders of the South. As an Igbo man, I was thought honor, respect, love, self-giving, and honesty by my parents and the community where I grew up. You cannot bring a fight inside the house, if you do, such a person is considered a fool. When Kanu was released, he enjoyed the encomiums of the majority of Nigerians who saw the Federal Governments lawless detention as evil and unconstitutional because he never committed any crime to be locked up for 2 yrs. He was hosted by Senators and Governors, his father's house became a Mecca of sought, he enjoyed the people's patronage. Not until the butterfly started thinking himself a bird, the self-aggrandizement overwhelmed him so much that he declared: "there would not be any election in Anambra" and his reasons? Because Kanu said so. He brought the battle into his home. He started receiving Genuflection as a tiny god he approved himself of, and even Senator Abaribe who was among the people that signed his bail surety couldn't speak reason into his skull, he spoke to him, Eastern Governors and some traditional rulers spoke to him, he was too pompous to apply wisdom, humility, and honor, but he wants others to accord him the same. Now, all those people who would have stood behind him are doubtful of his intentions, so they stayed clear of him. Now, that they have started chasing him, where will he run into? "Lack of wisdom"
Now, this is his SIN. The moment he commissioned the local army on record, posted it out on social media and spoke openly at a rally about the need to have the Biafra Secret Force, he failed from grace, he not only entered into the nest orchestrated by the Nigeria State, he ignited the article in the Constitution of Nigeria that prohibits anyone from organizing an army against the sovereignty, whether you like it or not, Nigeria is a sovereignty, Biafra is not and was never so it is not even a conquered territory. We reached out to Kanu, advised him to be cautious and apply wisdom, he never listened, he cursed everyone who disagreed with him, we are all "Efulefu". he cut off his communication channel with those who would have helped.
Instead of calling for the boycott of Anambra Election, even when you are not from Anambra, you could have channeled that energy to become a political force in the East, compel your followers to come out in masse and vote in the election and ensure that they elect a credible non-corrupt Governor and House Assemblies knowing that every power and politics is local, you would have scored a gigantic political WIN right there and the Federal Government will start taking you seriously. You ensure that the same thing in Anambra is replicated it in all the South Eastern and the South Southern States, unseat all these criminal Senators, House members, Governors and let us have our own devoted people represent us for once, NO, Nnamdi was so arrogant that he forgot his culture. Anambra of all places, the home of Azikiwe, where we have the timbers and calibers of the East, they saw his afront as an insult, just there alone, Kanu diminished his patronage among Eastern Elders who would have been his backbone. (Elders stays at watch as they send the young to battle)
In the course of my career, I have seen deaths, people who died in the face of war and the earth refused to bury them, their carcas decaying that even vultures were so full that they could not feed anymore. I have seen men, real men, rebels in the face of war, their skulls shattered, their bones and legs ripped off, some bled to their death, but among all, there is nothing like the sight of an amputated spirit, hahahahaaaa, there is no prosthetic for that.
Every single information coming out of his house was fake news propaganda, that the UN did this or that was all LIE. We are here at the UN Headquarters and never a time has any issue about Biafra brought to bear in any open sessions, General Assembly, Security Council Consultations, never. But our gullible hardworking brothers whom he met at home never wanted to listen, they believed his lies. The agitation must be seen as non-violent as possible. The flagrant disregard of any advice was appalling. In the scheme of things, you need strategists, advisers, foreign policy analysts, intel ops and lots of professionals to sit down and drive a master plan, Kanu assumed all these responsibilities and was very bad at them. So far, you can see that he is not a strategist, knows very little about building coalitions within and outside Nigeria, I mean coalitions of friendly countries who can reason with the cause, on many occasions, he switched off his phone because he is a stubborn overlord, look at the carnage he has caused and where is he now? in hiding. There wouldn't have been any need to hide. He should have been entering the Villa and House of Assembly, lobbying and strategizing, that's how wise men WIN. Remember, "She stopped to Conquer"
The facebook warriors who are good at calling people names on facebook and cannot have dialogue and reason together, over to you, let your name calling continue, how many people are dead now because of Kanus irresponsible stubbornness? And among all those deaths, none of his family members are involved, now the government of Nigeria has categorized IPOB as a terrorist organization, that's what you get when you start to organize an army, its going to be tougher for Easterners who are travelers. My advice, if you wish to travel outside Nigeria, clean up your social media platforms, you could be turned back at any point of entry because of what the Federal Govt just did.
Final words, all of you that are noise makers on social media, have you ever thought of something very covertly possible? That Nnamdi Kanu may have been paid off to quash the Biafra struggle once and for all? That all these charades were staged? hahahahahaaa, Why did he object against any good advice to go about this struggle perfectly and legitimately? He came back from the UK, was arrested by the Nigerian government that is more or like subservient to the British Lords, Ndi Igbo, wake up before the water reaches your necks.
If we fail to apply wisdom in settling our impasse, we will all perish as fools. I am not going to perish because I see things differently. I don't wish anyone death, can we now wear our thinking cap?? Now?? I mean Now?

People thinks Buhari is winning corruption but that's a fat lie. True, bad politicians looted money during GEJ tenure but why didn't we experience such hardships? Simply because they spend their loots and there was money in circulation.

Buhari didn't stop looting, there's still looting now. He only succeeded in blocking ways through which the looters will spend their cash and that's causing shortage in circulation of money that's why things are hard
So the looting should continue so that money can be in circulation?

True talk bro. Devaulation only pays an export based economy. Imagine those importers crying 'mogbe' are exporters. Will they complain? Bunch of jokers. Importers do not create any value, they are desperate opportunists. If they are truly good business men and women, by now, they would have started looking for things to export to take advantage of this dollar situation.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Takes Over Central Bank Naira Management - Bloomberg. by temitopeadeyemo: 1:52pm On Jan 30, 2016
I fully support Buhari on this. The foreign investors that will not come are the portfolio investors. They do not add any value to the real economy. They do not create jobs, build infrastructure, etc. Real investors will come, because they know they will get huge returns for their investments. By refusing to devalue the naira, those who have legitimate needs for FX will get it at a cheaper rate from CBN. If you want to import champagne, christian louboutin, etc you can go a source for your FX from wherever. Nigerians needs to start looking inwards. Buy locally made goods. People complaining about this policy are doing so for selfish reasons. Who cares if a 'charge and bail' investor cannot get FX to outflow his money? I beg make dem go sidon.

The FG has not flouted any court orders. The extent of atrocities committed by these people is such that the government can hold them permanently. If the court grants them bail on one charge, the government will file another. EFCC, DSS, the police and other government agencies that can prosecute will keep tossing these criminals among themselves. So if EFCC files a charge today and the court grants bail, DSS will pick them up for another charges. It is no longer business as usual, if you can look for loopholes in our judicial set up, the government can also find loopholes to keep you indefinitely. And I fully support this. If anybody is not satisfied, well they should do what the have been doing before- GO TO COURT.

PoliticsThis Biafra Is For Igbos Who See Themselves As Victims- Godwin Amadi by temitopeadeyemo(op): 9:08am On Jul 25, 2015
I saw this post on facebook written by a man I have high regard for and I thought I should share it.

Before you read further, please read this (dis)claimer: I am from Aboh-Mbaise in Imo State. Therefore, I cannot be more Igbo than I already am. I write as one whose umbilical cord is still buried in my father’s backyard.
One way to fail in life (or in anything for that matter) is to assume with relish the position of a victim. A dictionary defines victim as “an aggrieved or disadvantaged party.” The dictionary on my phone puts it this way: “an unfortunate person who suffers from adverse circumstances.” Show me a man who believes another man is his problem, and I will show you an eternal mediocre. Likewise, show me a region that blames its political and economic misery on other regions, and I will show a region that will produce a president only by luck. Unfortunately, the last goodluck was misused by a man who added, of all names, “Azikiwe” to his name.
It is atypical of a proper Igbo man (in this piece, words relating to one gender shall include the other gender) to feel sorry for himself. A real Igbo man likes profuse apologies while he takes territories, but he does not like being an object of the word “sorry” when it is said in reference to his pain and suffering. An Igbo man would rather die than to cry in public – we sniff back tears and confront what confronts us. The famed Okonkwo in Things Fall Apart is the quintessential Igbo man. God bless Chinua Achebe!
This craze for this brand of Biafra is a clear sign that our Igbo values have been diluted to the shame of some. Odimegwu Ojukwu will be cringing in his grave because his Biafra has been scoffed at by idiots and bastards – those who do not know how to use and ride on another’s pride and honour. How dare you desecrate what Biafra stands for! How dare you make a joke of a people’s resolve to survive against great odds! How dare you dance on the graves of millions – the least of whom your best can never equal! You are a charlatan and only misfits subscribe to your ideals.
Who are you in Igbo land? Who is your father? What are your antecedents? What are you fighting for? Who is fighting by your side? You think Igbos are maginalised and victimised? By whom? By an Hausa man or a Yoruba man or an Ijaw man or a white man? If you so think, then, your Igboness is in serious doubt. If you think anyone is standing in the way of Igbos in this country, then your brain is lighter than your skin. Worse still, those who follow you are as untaught and demented as Shakarau.
Using your ubiquitous radio station, you preach hate and fear among your own people – while you live abroad. I will never support your divisive agenda. I am a victor and you cannot, by your show of shame, ascribe to me a victim mindset. In your contrived happiest moments, may the realization that the likes of me are not with you bring your ecstasy to an abrupt end. You will go down as a man whose only legacy is to establish a radio station listened to by only those who are angry with themselves and the world around them.
You may have a million lightheaded and perplexed supporters, but when the chips are down, you will be standing alone. Only that you would have succeeded in defiling the Biafra that gave pride and honour to Ndi Igbo.
Get a life while you still can!

You claim that sharing a history of slavery with the jewish people make you same with them. May I remind you that many west african tribes experienced slavery, does that make them Jewish? Genocide did not happen to the jews and igbos only, the armenians, the tutsis, etc too experienced it, I guess that makes the jewish too.

Self Deception is perhaps the greatest undoing of anybody. I can give you a hundred reasons why you are nowhere close to being jewish. The jews are monotheists- meaning they serve one God, you people have several gods and that does not sound jewish to me. Your language belongs to the congo language family, the jewish belongs to the afro-asiatic. Israelis were chased out of their country by the romans, Your people willingly leave their land to look for greener pastures. The jews are not even christians, yet you are. I can go on and on. Be proud of your blackness. Be proud of your heritage.
PoliticsRe: I Want To Know If One Dollar Is 196 Or 233 Naira by temitopeadeyemo: 2:52am On Jul 11, 2015
There are three rates you should be aware of: CBN rate, interbank rate and black market rate (also known as parallel market)
CBN rate is the lowest- which is usually made available through an auction system. Access to CBN rate is usually restricted to certain imports, remittances, etc as given by the Apex Bank.
Interbank rate, as the name suggest is the rate at which banks buy and sell from one another. Usually, your naira mastercard transactions, western union, etc use this rate.
Black market rate is what you get from your mallam.

My advice is that you open a domiciliary account and let whoever send directly to your bank account, not through western union. You can get dollars and then sell to mallam.

One of the most beautiful concept in this life is choice. I have the choice to determine how I live my life as long as it does not harm my neighbours. And one of the ugliest nature of humankind is hate. Hate under any disguise can destroy what took thousands of years to build. I am a christian and I do know that homosexuality is a sin, but so is stealing, fornication, adultery, etc. In our thinking, they may not be the same but before God sin is sin, punishable with the same measure. So according to my bible, all sinners- gays, thieves, adulterers, etc will go to hell. My take on this issue of homosexuality is that let God be the judge of all. When we begin to judge them and allow hate to rule, we begin to destroy ourselves. We are all humans before we are white, black, gay, straight, Yoruba, Ibo. If America chooses today to allow them to get married, that is their business and it does not in anyway affect the pump price of petrol.

I do not support homosexuality but I support their right to life, freedom of association, etc.

There is no part of this country that is a pest. The Northerners, especially feed us in this country. Most of our staple come from there except for a few things down southwest. The southeasterners are highly productive too in trading. All of these add up to form a great and formidable country. What we need is the right leadership who can harness these resources for the prosperity of all. Nigeria is a great country but can be greater if we all come together and work towards a society where equity and justice reign.
PoliticsRe: Richest Nigerian States Ranked By GDP by temitopeadeyemo: 7:19am On Jun 28, 2015
Many nairalanders do not know what GDP means. It is Gross Domestic Product. It is the monetary value of all finished products and services produced within, in this reference, a state's borders within a specified period. What this means is that you aggregate individuals/institutions contribution to production of goods and services and employment plays a big role in this calculation. If your state has high level of unemployment, then you will have quite large number of your people who are not productive and cannot add to the GDP of the state. I am not an economist so I'd like economist in the house to shed more light on this subject matter.

the problem with a black man is so immerse , deep and convoluted.

Name one black country in this world that is living well; none; then there is something wrong. People think they can wake up to come to nl and talk rubbish; u must be insane. Nnamdi is a true commander of Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB across the world and he is not alone. He is whiter than white and whiter than snow.

We are fearless before our enemies mind u. NNamdi and IPOB held down Aba so what are u talking about People blabbing from London. unless your blood is mixed with hausa fulani in alliance with the yoruba u will never feel the anger of the over 6 millions massacred. The anger is real.

As for sunnybobo Uwazurike is using Biafra to make money. He even came up with Biafra money, number plate etc when we have not established our dear country Biafra. He is a criminal and he knows it! We will be having our next IOPB meeting here in london on satuday and u could as well call on MI5 ; mad mad people

We are registered with UN and under UN chapter we have the right to fight for our freedom and what u gona do now; arrest our commmander abi; u must be insane to believe we are out for a joke; mad mad people. We have the right just like else where some people are fighting the ISIS. We openly calls for funds to buy enough guns on our radio and we dnt hide it; let them know; ndi ara

Now coming to those that talk about oh i tune in to listen to radio biafra and all i heard was hate speech. I guess u are listen from your worthless house in Abuja or lagos? Lets be honest if Jonathan waited a little to hand over and lets say u are in Abuja right, heaven knows what could have become of u. And u call yourself Igbo, u are insane and do not deserved to be called human. U had super eagles that won africa cup and u have yorubas complaining they are just Biafran team. We tried to have international airport in Enugu but the yorubas killed it. Now they are about to destroy Biafran land with radioactive element and u are here to try to lecture us about HATE

We are many and we multiplying across the world as our people are letting go the black man stupiidity. Therefore it is either u are with us or not but be assure we are LIVE and DIRECT and we are marching.
If you are truly a black man, then you must know that the greatest undoing of the black race is lack of unity. We must find a way to unite and fight the common problems facing us- poverty, hunger, diseases, corruption, bad leadership, etc. these problems are facing black people all over the world. It doesn't where you are in the world, black people are somewhat disadvantaged. You have poor Yorubas, poor Jamaicans, Fulanis, Igbos, etc. These are problems we are facing and as long as we do not have a common goal, we shall forever remain backwards, whether in Nigeria or Biafra. Is South Sudan better off today? What we should all fight for are countries, communities, states were fairness, justice and equity are held sacrosanct. There is strength in numbers, diversity and unity. Peace bro.

This is the biggest lie any tribe can tell itself.
Igbos practised polytheism, the hebrews monotheism
Igbos language belongs to the Niger-congo language family, hebrew is semetic
Igbos decided to leave the lands for greener pastures, hebrews were forced out of their lands
Even the dressing culturally are not in anyway similar
In genocide, several tribes and peoples have been victims; the armanians, rwanda, jews, assyrians, etc.
The Chinese, Lebanese and syrians are also well traveled and successful wherever they go.
Please be African and be proud!

OP your opening sentence says a lot about you and your many contradictions.

You are Yoruba and believe you are the best people and then you descend into talking about equality among tribes and peoples.

That aside, for you to take a time out froyour infinite jobblessness to discus so called myths of other peoples shows how inferior you see yourself amomg this same people!

I believe that where Nationalism, race and tribal sentiments are taken as a sense of pride individual such an individual is an irreedemable loser!

Racsim, Tribalism, xenophobia and Nationalistic tendencies always take root during socio-economic downturns and depressions. See NAZI Germany, 1933 and modern day South Africa.

In modern day Germany, Europe and the US the most racist groups are mainly composed of uneducated losers. This is why Osun with it's teeming ignorant Tajus and Mulikats is the epicenter of Tribalism and they have a voodoo alfa priest cum refrigerator technician as their governor!
The reason for creating this thread is not to promote a tribe above any other but to put some rants to test. I am a proud Nigerian as I am proud of my tribe. That does not mean I am better than Chinedu nor Aminu. We all are good at something and collectively we can build a Nigeria we can all be proud of. I have keenly read a lot of topics and comments on this forum of which my Igbo friends believe they are better than others. I reject this. No tribe is better than the other. The Northerners, as poor as we think they are, produce virtually everything we eat in this country. They are not useless. They are contributing to Nigeria. We just need to do more and compliment each others strength

I am Yoruba and proudly so. I do not see my tribe as better than others. I do not insult the inadequacies of other tribes. I see others irrespective of their background as humans and must be accorded some respect and dignity. I have noticed however, the way my igbo brothers and sisters have really taken this ethno-political war, thinking they are better than others. They have made some points in justifying their superiority to other tribes in the country and I am here to bust some of them.

Myth #1- Igbos are Jewish descendants or are like Jewish people. Comparing themselves with the Jewish people is a joke taking too far. They say they are adventurous as the jewish people. Jewish people became adventurous for a number of reasons, chief among them is that they were forced out of their country and had no choice but to seek refuge in foreign countries. The Igbos were never chased out of their home country. They chose to leave their homeland to other places. To them, the grass is always green at the other side. Secondly, The Jewish people practiced monotheism and we all know that just like any other African society, the Igbos have many deities they worshiped. Thirdly, The Jewish people speak Hebrew from the Afroasiatic language family while the Igbo is from Niger-Congo language family like Ashanti, Yoruba, etc. I have tried many times to find any similarities between the two groups but I have not found any. They may be adventurous more than any other tribes in country, but so are the Lebanese, the Syrians, Jews and the chinese. These other groups do not feel they are better than others. It is simple logic that you tend to do better when you are not in your comfort zone. Nigeriansare rated as one of the most educated ethnic groups in the US. They just have to make use of the opportunities they have because that is the only way to survive. So Igbos doing well in the West, North and even outside the country is just simple mathematics.

Myth #2- Igbos are the most successful tribe in the country. We can define success in so many ways. I want to assume that what they mean by success is the richest. I am going to come to that. The NBS in its reports revealed that Northwest has the highest number of poor people in Nigeria-71.4% while Southwest has the least-49.8%. South-east has 59.5% below the poverty line. Talking about the richest, I will use the most reliable source for this. There are 12 Nigerians on the list of Africa's richest by Forbes Magazine. Three northerners- Dangote, Rabiu and Danjuma; Three easterners- Kalu, Elumelu and Ovia; Five westerners-Adenuga, Alakija, Otedola, folawiyo and Otudeko. Osagie is also on the list but not so sure of where he is from. What my friends fail to understand is that we all compliment each other. That you are best known for something does not mean others do not have their strength too. They are not the most successful, They are part of our success stories so also our failings as a nation.

Myth #3- 50 percent of people living in Lagos are Igbos. There is no reliable stats to prove or disprove this assertion. The last governorship election in the state has however provided us with some clues. Judging by the voting pattern in Lagos, areas mostly dominated by the Igbos voted for PDP. We expect that if they are up to 50 percent, while other tribes- Yorubas, Edos, Efik, etc PDP should have won the election.

Myth #4- Biafra is the Solution to their problems. According to them, the rest of the country is holding them down. If they have Biafra today, the sky will be their beginning. South Eastern States today, just like most states in the country rely on Federal Allocation. Biafra will still have to bank on the probability that south-south will join them as well. Segregation is not your solution, a country where equity and justice are held sacrosanct is your solution. Today South Sudan are faced with the same problem they had when they were with Sudan.

Your thoughts, insults, criticism are most welcome.

The world is asking countries who still use coal plants to shut down, due to the effect it has on our climate. The news for global warming is out there and other nations are complying. Now APC wants to introduce coal to destroy our weather.

Want us to live in extreme hot temperature. Others are planting trees to cushion the effect of global warming, buhari and APC wants to polute the air with coal.
Please give me an example of one country that has shut down its coal power plant. Everybody is playing lipservice to climate change. Has the US reduced its emissions? Yes we need to deal with climate change. We can do that by planting more vegetation and preserving the existing ones. If we are going to improve our power generation, we need every resource developed and well utilized.
