abdullahikutiri: sorry for the late reply. if you are a java programmer. then you are more covered. java programming and c# programming are very much alike both of them are oop. you can easily learn c# within a very short time frame.

with a single codebase you can build for J2me, Rim[Blackberry], Andriod, IOS and Windows Phone.

The Nearest locator app(http://getnearest.com/) is built using that and iPolice Mobile, a personal safety and security app is also built on that.

Known_pal: Omo make sure you have some apps. Starting a company need determination, and I can't say this the actual amount, but you can start from your niche though.. if you are a student keep learning till you start work. Money gain from salary might be save to start a company.

From my experience and from talking to many other developers, the category with the most revenue generating potential, both from ads and in-app purchases, is games. And if you want to start your own app business, that’s probably the best tip I can give you.

5. Should you hire someone or learn how to make the app yourself?

If you want to start an app business, then I would advise that you start to learn about making apps. Learn the common pitfalls and how the app market works. Learn from success stories and what they did to get there. You can lose a lot of money in the beginning paying developers WAY too much money to make an app if you do not have a basic knowledge of what’s involved and how much effort it should take. From my knowledge its not exactly like a camp for geeks and likes although they organise events that bring all sort together. What they basically do is provide you with support in terms of sourcing for funds, advise, training etc. Things that you might find difficult on your own.

They can't steal your idea because they are not in the business to run any of the startups, they just give you an avenue to grow!
