FEIRE - EPISODE ELEVEN The issue was getting tougher for him. Desmond and Bayo already said they wouldn’t come for such a wedding. He didn’t know what to tell them again than it was too late for him to pull out of the wedding now. Her father would just ruthlessly deal with him, he has also informed his own family, and it was just too late to start pulling out of the mess he has gotten himself to. He picked his laptop and began to type a mail to explain how far he has gone and how hard it was for him to pull out of the wedding maybe his friends would change their mind because it would be weird to go to his in-law’s place without any friend. He hoped they would respond to him and just cover his shame for that day and maybe thereafter he would mail Feire to explain everything to her because he was not sure he would be able to stand before her to explain himself. ** ** ** 13 days to Marriage Feire dropped her make-up kit and turned towards Mosun. “Is it okay like this?” She asked. Mosun nodded. They just came back from church about two hours before then and now Feire was going out with Fola and his fiancé as they have informed her since Saturday evening. They seemed to be heaven-sent, coming at the right time to make her not feel any heartbreak or go into depression. She didn’t bat an eyelid before she gave in to follow them out, at least she would catch some fun and would still be able to keep her hopes that not all men are the same. “What will you buy for me when coming?” Mosun asked. Feire stared at her. “When are you going back to your house sef, I am not depressed, at least you can see.” “It is just because I am around you, be acting like macho there as if you will not miss me.” Feire chuckled. “Keep raising your hopes, baby girl.” “But I keep wondering why these two are getting closer to you, Feire. Do you think there is anything attached?” Feire shrugged. “Like what?” “I don’t know, at the same time I don’t feel it is just entirely normal like that.” She sniggered. “I don’t want to attach anything to our relationship. I am off.” She waved as she walked to the door. “Take care dear.” ** ** ** Feire stepped into the eatery and spotted Fola and Stella at a corner just talking and laughing. If she wouldn’t be perturbed with Desmond’s thought, that should be where she has to be, she had thought before walking towards them. “Good afternoon, Feire.” Stella hurried to her feet and hugged her. Feire smiled. “Good afternoon.” “Did you go to church today?” She threw at Feire. Feire nodded. “Yes. Good afternoon, Fola.” “That sounds better than your fake respect of all these days, Feire.” “Sit down.” Stella told her as she sat down too. “Thanks, Stella.” She sat down and faced Fola. “Fake respect? Me?” “I was just joking. I guess my fiancé’s presence has made it easy for you to rapport with me now, right?” She shrugged. “Maybe. At least it has proven that you have no ulterior motive.” They all laughed. “So what would you like to eat?” Stella asked her. “I don’t know. I feel anything you guys are okay by, I would also go with it.” Stella grinned. “No problem, dear. There is gist for you, Feire.” “Really?” Feire turned towards her well. “What gist?” She asked. “It is between us, we will talk when we are alone.” She winked. Fola hissed. “You ladies would start with all these lame talks now, right?” “Is it paining you because there is no male friend her that you can be forming guy with? Abeg, shift.” Feire laughed. “Pidgin still seems to flow on your tongue well, Stella.” “I have always loved speaking it, I have never been good at it though, but I just push everything together and make it sound nice.” She winked again and they laughed. “Let me order something.” Fola stood up and left the two of them on seat. “Better! Ladies want to talk.” Fola chuckled. “You? You will explain if it is Feire you would be talking to or me, Stella.” Stella stuck her tongue out and laughed at Fola as he walked to make order for what they would eat. “So what is the gist about?” Feire asked, eager to know what she wanted to tell her. “It is very long, so I can’t discuss it here. Can I just come and sleep at your place?” She asked. Feire was shocked. She wasn’t expecting that at all, she was so friendly and seemed so free around her. She doesn’t even know Feire so well yet and she was ready to come and sleep at her place for them to just gist and play? She didn’t know what to say, whether to turn her down or to agree, not even now that Mosun was also around. “What’d you say, Feire?” She grinned, shaking happily as if Feire already agreed. “Erh.. no problem. Anytime.” “Sure, it is tonight.” “But I am going to work tomorrow, Stella.” Stella chuckled. “Forget! Is your show tomorrow?” She asked. Feire shook her head. “No.” “So you are free.” Feire didn’t even know what she should feel like. She didn’t know what Fola would say when he returned back and how this her sudden friendship was moving, she was liking it so much but still wondering if it wouldn’t affect the boss and employee relationship between herself and Fola. “What if Fola says…” She held Feire’s hand. “He wouldn’t try that, dear. He told me I have to make friend with you, so he would pay the price to make this happen.” “Huh?” She nodded. “Yes dear. Tonight, we are going to be having some talks and you are going to be enjoying this outspoken talkative.” They laughed. ** ** ** Feire didn’t know what to call everything happening. It just seemed as if she was a specimen that every good and bad things were tested on. Why would her boss’ wife like her so much to be her friend and even to come over to her own place to sleep? She was dumbfounded when Fola agreed that she should come to her place to sleep and also granted her absence from work. He must have really loved her for him to just hearken to everything she tells him. She didn’t even know how she would manage this extreme extrovert and her other issue called Mosun. At least Mosun would leave for work tomorrow but she would still be with Fola’s wife-to-be, discussing what? She didn’t even know the gist she has been telling her she would love to share with her. She drove home and Fola’s car also followed as she drove on. He followed to drop Stella before he leaves for his own place that evening. She honked by the gate twice when she remembered her mind have not crossed Desmond for about three hours now. She was right by getting closer to these two, they have really been of help to her emotions. She drove in while Fola parked his car outside and he alighted with Stella so they could go inside together. “Welcome to my small abode.” Feire welcomed them as she alighted from the car. “This place is so beautiful, Feire.” Stella looked around, stunned by what she was seeing. “Thanks. Please meet my friend.” She introduced Mosun who came to get the gate and they all entered the living room. Feire signaled to Mosun as they entered for her to see her so she could explain how everything was to her. The two of them stepped aside while Fola and Stella sat in the living room discussing and laughing. She soon returned to meet them. “I should be leaving now, Feire. At last I now know where you stay.” “I was not hiding this place before.” He laughed. “This place is very nice.” “Thank you.” “You will come to our place too very soon.” Stella dropped happily. Feire didn’t even know what to say, she just smiled. The two escorted Fola outside and watched him drive off before they entered the house. “Can we just sit in the compound here for fresh air before going inside?” Stella asked. Fola nodded. “Sure.” Stella brought out her phone and punched some buttons and handed the phone to Feire. “Take.” Feire collected it and watched what was displayed and froze. ** ** ** Comments motivate me! I'd appreciate yours. Thank you. |
These comments... ![]() Update will be coming a bit late.. But I'll try all my best to update tonight. |
Episode 10.2 It was Saturday already, just two weeks to the wedding when Desmond met with his friends. He knew they would be so happy to hear that he was already getting married, he was also happy he was finally leaving them and their signed agreement on marriage. At least he wouldn’t be losing anything now that he would be getting married to a family who would give him multiple of the money they placed bet on. He kept smiling as he informed them about the wedding, trying to decipher what they’d say even before either of them said anything. “You can’t be serious.” Bayo cut in. He shrugged. “I am ready bro, you guys can just take the money.” Subby laughed. “So you can finally give a woman your heart, guy?” He winked. “The right woman, Subby. You people better get married as soon as possible also and let us stop beating about the bush. We are getting old.” Bayo hissed. “Leave trash for LAWMA, abeg. Who will be your best man among the two of us?” “I am not doing any best man o.” Subby objected. “Why?” Bayo asked, grinning. “The best man ends up falling in love with the chief bride’s maid.” Desmond hissed. “You can never be wise. Someone you’d be with for just a day and you are saying that you would fall in love with her. Where’s your sense, Subby?” Subby shrugged. “You know this idiot has been in love for only God knows when and we are just getting to know about his wedding just two weeks to it. Desmond, why are you so senseless.” He winked. “I was thinking either of you might just confess about your secret relationship before I do so that the money would be mine too.” They laughed while Bayo filled their cups again with the wine. They were under the shed beside a swimming pool that afternoon for their talk as Desmond had called it before bringing them there. “So I am the best man, in short.” Bayo said. Desmond tittered. “Having you as my best man on my wedding, I hope it wouldn’t just turn out to be like Sola and Banky W in that wedding party movie.” Subby laughed. “Expect the same because the sense in this guy’s head is nothing different from that of Sola.” Bayo hissed. “If you annoy me, I will just scatter the wedding.” “There will be heavy security that day, if you try any nonsense, they will bundle you out of that place like a mat.” Desmond winked. “Since when have you been hiding this girl, Desmond? When are we even meeting her, or is it on your wedding day that we will know the wife we are marrying?” “I’ll make sure you meet her this coming week, perhaps we just eat out.” Subby nodded. “That makes sense too. I just don’t understand this type of wedding you want to do, why is it lowkey, sudden and somehow to me.” Desmond contorted his mouth. “I actually have something bothering me, guys. I wish I could open up to you but you guys don’t have sense.” Bayo laughed. “Don’t open up anything, we will blow everything away and add to your problems.” Subby shook his head as he laughed too. “I am sensible enough to share your burden because I don’t know why I feel this wedding appears sudden, Desmond. What is it that you want to share?” Desmond was still not sure if he should let them know everything. He already promised Kike he was not going to discuss their secret with anyone and he wouldn’t want to betray her, perhaps he should just let them know about Feire and what he should do about her. He tweaked his nose and drifted closer to them as he began to explain everything, hiding the case of Kike’s pregnancy and all that has transpired. Subby pulled his beards as he looked away. He didn’t know what to say to him. Bayo also dropped his cup of drink and was dumbfounded. The three of them exchanged glances as silence ruled their midst for seconds before Bayo picked up his cup of drink and sipped again. “You know what, Desmond?” Subby clenched his fists. “What? What would you advise me to do, guy.” “You are just…” He stopped abruptly and shook his head. “He is just mad!” Bayo cut in angrily. “Guy, from this nonsense you just explained it means that there must be a reason why you want to marry this new girl, Desmond. Guy!” He dropped his cup. Desmond dropped his head. If his friends could start murdering him like this, he must have done so bad that he deserves no mercy. “I am disappointed, guy. Why do I feel you want to marry this new girl because of money, Desmond?” He raised his head and shook it immediately. “Not at all, guys. True, her parents are stinkly rich, in fact her father would be handing the company over to me soon and already did a lot for me, but it has never been about her money, guys. I never knew she was even this rich until I first stepped into their house. I can boldly say it is not about money, Subby.” “So what?” Bayo shrugged with a sly smile. “Do you know how badly that lady would feel if she gets to know about this now, guy?” Subby held Bayo. “It is not even about how she would feel now, it is about how she would feel in two weeks’ time, it would be worse than if she gets to know now because she would know that you have been planning this wedding for a while and you have dumped her for so long, Desmond. You really have bleeped up.” Desmond sighed. He was playing with his fingernails as the two lashed him. He didn’t know they were going to be that keen on him, he wouldn’t have told them anything. “What should I do now?” “You are the one who’s meant to tell us why you are getting married this fast.” “Guys, we are not getting younger!” Desmond hit the table. “Shut up!” Subby slammed the table too. “Just keep quiet there, Desmond.” He seemed so angry already. “We are not getting younger but not to fix a wedding within a month, guy. We are not idiots!” “Is she pregnant?” Bayo asked. Desmond nodded. “Yes.” Subby laughed. ** ** ** ...to be continued... |
These comments are funny.. Lol! ![]() I'll be updating the remaining part of episode 10 in a jiffy.. And EPIAODE 11 by evening. Thank you! |
EPISODE 10.1 Feire stepped into the living room, dressed for work. She was opening her bag to check for her phone when Mosun also appeared, ready to leave for her place of work too. “I am sorry about yesterday.” Feire apologized as she saw her. Mosun smiled. “I know you are going through a lot, babe. I understand.” “I am coming to your office today.” Mosun grinned. “To take me out?” “No. I am coming to see Kike.” Mosun’s face was dipped in shock. “Why would you come and see her? What do you want to do? Are you obsessed with Desmond that much?” Feire laughed. “I can’t fight anyone for a guy’s matter, Mosun. You should know I am more matured than that.” She shrugged. “So?” “I don’t know. I want to see what she looks like, hear her voice, interact with her and just be her friend.” She winked. Mosun clasped her hands together. “Someone who doesn’t even know you, Feire. Tell me, what is your plan?” “I am serious, dear. I am not coming to wreck any havoc. I am just coming to see her, through you.”’ “I don’t understand.” Mosun sat down. “Stand up, dear. We will be late for work. You will soon understand.” ** ** ** Kike smiled into the board room where she had called for meeting. She demanded that everyone must be on seat because she wanted to pass an important announcement. “Good morning.” She greeted as she pulled her chair to sit down. “Good morning.” They chorused back. She was obviously happy that morning and they all knew that the meeting must be for a good reason for her to be smiling. Everyone anticipated what she would say as all eyes were on her. “Yeah, I called for everyone just for a notice, not even for a meeting. This is unofficial, I wouldn’t just want to be telling us one after the other and end up forgetting to tell some of us while some get angry that I never informed them. I would be getting married in three weeks from now.” She announced. There was noise and cheering all over the room. It wasn’t new to Mosun, she wasn’t even excited because who knows if the husband would be Desmond? “Just calm down, guys.” She grinned, announcing the date of the wedding to them. Mosun was there, lost in thought as she heard the date. It would be on Feire’s birthday, it mustn’t be that Desmond would really be the groom, it would be so disappointing. “It is going to be a very quiet wedding, I am not make it loud at all. So it is just you, not your friends and family, guys.” They laughed over what she said, all cheering as she stood up to leave them. She didn’t even notice that Mosun was not moved like the other guys because of how they were jumping and excited. She left the room for her office too. She wanted to call Feire to know if she was still coming but she said she already changed her mind. She informed her about the wedding news and asked if she could send a message to Desmond to ask him to celebrate her birthday for her. She wished she could just leave work already so she could be with her friend. ** ** ** Feire wasn’t sure that was the best thing to do. Should she really demand him to celebrate her birthday for her or just keep mute about the whole thing and appear on the wedding day as a guest? That might be the best thing for her to do. She wouldn’t call him anymore, so she wouldn’t look desperate or make his belief strong that he already knew anything. Yet, she would play along if Desmond decides to play along too, it would be a nice game between them. She swiveled her chair, thinking about it all when her door was knocked. She drifted close to her desk back and placed her hands on her table as she called the fellow inside. She smiled as she stood slowly. “Good morning sir.” She greeted. “Feire, good morning.” Her boss replied as he approached her. “May I sit down?” “Sure, you may sir.” They sat down. “I have told you I am not a sir, I am just Fola.” He corrected. She shook her head. “Sir, we are in the office and anyone can just hear me call you Fola. It wouldn’t be nice sir.” He chuckled. “Calling me Fola when they are not there is the height of hypocrisy.” “I see it as the height of respect to give it to whom it is due especially when you are in an official place like this. Did you give any other person the privilege of calling you by your name?” He laughed. “So what are you insinuating?” “I don’t know, I just feel it will be weird.” He clenched his fist. “I want you to follow me out.” Her face dimmed. “Out? Like, I don’t understand.” “I just want us to be friend, Feire. Can you just cut all these boss stuff away?” “Em.. you know I told you from the start that…” He laughed as he interrupted her. “Babes, no strings attached. I like your personality and I just want you to be my friend on a plane ground. I just want you to follow me out, I want to go and pick my fiancé at the airport, she just came back from Germany.” Feire smiled. It was a relief to hear that he had a fiancé, but would she like her? And wouldn’t she just find it awkward that she followed her boyfriend to the airport when she was meant to be at work? “Sir, there might be a misunderstanding if she finds me with you.” “Fola.” He corrected her. “Okay, but she might misunderstand things. She is just coming from Germany.” He shrugged. “I have no friend, basically. She practically doesn’t have any friend too, Feire. She asked me to her a friend when I am coming and I have no one to take there but you. You know what, Stella trusts me with her life, and I trust her too. That’s why I never batted an eyelid to any lady for over a year that she left for Germany and I am sure she is coming back unadulterated too.” He replied with a smile. “Er.. okay.” Feire replied him. “So, shall we?” “Yeah.” She stood up. ** ** ** Feire sprawled on the sofa as she entered her apartment. Fola made sure she followed him and his fiancé to eat out and told her she could go home after the outing. It would have passed another message if it wasn’t his fiancé they went to pick at the airport. She was beautiful, so beautiful with a glabrous skin and perfect dentition. She was just like Mosun, the outspoken type who didn’t calm down; asked her for her name, got her mobile number, hugged her and kept chatting with her on how the man who sat beside her on flight almost ruined her journey with lame talks. Feire enjoyed her going out with them, it shifted her mind away from all the issue on ground to meeting fiancé. What Fola said in the office before the two of them left to pick Stella kept re-echoing in her ears; he said the two of them trust each other and it sounded foreign to Feire as she heard. It was as if her trust powerbank has blown up. She didn’t notice until he mentioned it and she found out she seemed not to believe there could be any two people together without the other fellow cheating. Why would there ever be some people who get into relationship with another person just to make them cry? Her eyes swelled with tears as she thought about everything going on. She didn’t know if she should just confront him and get out of this relationship or just calm down to see how everything would end up. Would he really have fixed his wedding with another lady without breaking up with her? Fixing the wedding wasn’t even enough, but on her birthday again? Mosun pushed the door open and met Feire fast asleep on the sofa. It was already past six that evening and she was wondering why her friend didn’t lock the door before sleeping off. She wished she could prank her but the present circumstances were not smiling enough for her to oull such a stunt. She tapped her and sat beside her as she sat up. “You didn’t lock the door, Feire. Were you so tired?” She wiped her face and yawned the second time. “I forgot. How was work?” Mosun shrugged. “I don’t even know if I should say fone or not. How are you doing, Feire?” Feire smiled. “I am fine.” “What do we do about this issue on ground? I am so confused also but I think we should attend the wedding.” She chuckled. “It’s going to be my birthday, Mosun.” Mosun dropped her handbag by her feet. “I know. I just want you to start getting over him from now so that you can easily go out and enjoy yourself that day.” “What if all these does not come out the way we have been thinking about it?” Mosun smiled. “I think I am more sure than before now, Feire. Desmond is getting married to her, what I seem not to understand is if he is the father of the child, or something is happening.” She added. Mosun turned her face towards her. “What do you mean? He should be the father.” “According to what I heard that day, Feire, the guy she left for him slept with her. What if he is the father of the child?” Feire scratched her head. “If Desmond has not done anything also, she wouldn’t have tried to hook him with the pregnancy. I was even thinking I should tell him to take me out on my birthday.” She grinned. “Really? You want to know what he would say.” She nodded. “Exactly. I am thinking if he would tell me that he would be going somewhere that day or whatever his lie would be. See, Mosun I am just confused. I don’t know if I am angry or bitter towards him. I am still seeing everything as a joke up till now, dear. “What if he breaks up with you before that day?” Mosun asked her. “You know what? Let’s just go for the wedding together. I wouldn’t say anything till that day; even if he says anything and he breaks up, I would still love him to see my face in that wedding.” Mosun laughed as she clasped her hands together. “Are you sure you can handle this?” “I can’t leave him without his guilt pricking him, dear. Don’t worry.” Mosun looked away for a moment and sighed. “Men!” “No, I think you should say Desmond, not men.” “They are all…” Feire cut in. “Fola seems not to be like them. You needed to have seen how he was confident to me about his babe today, we went to receive her from the airport together, Mosun. If you see how the two of them were flowing, dear. See, not all men are the same.” ** ** ** I'll be dropping a very long update tomorrow. I've been so busy since morning, in fact I won't be updating this on my own site.. EPISODE NINE FEIRE Everyone will think I am stupidly in love. Perhaps, I am a fool for trusting my guy. He is mine, so why won’t I trust him? I am just in the middle of a lot! I am in the middle of an allegation that might be true or false and until that is verified, my loyalty must not be tampered with because if everything ends up being false, I will be the one to face my music, not anyone else. I still haven’t thought about the best way to make him spill the truth, or probably find out what is really happening. I feel I should go and see him, on the other hand, what would I tell him? He would even shout and tell me he has told me not to come before prior notice. So, what else? Another thought has been dangling in my mind for a while now, maybe I should call him and tell him to make sure he listens to my show tomorrow and call in, then this will be my issue of discussion. Let’s hear what he would say when he calls in and his reaction after the show. I think that makes sense, right? It will make me push him into telling me if anything is true or false. That is what I will do! ** ** ** Feire swiveled her chair with the headphone on her. She had called Desmond to tune in and make sure he calls to drop his contribution on her discussion that day and he has agreed. He didn’t sound as though anything was wrong throughout their talk on phone that afternoon before he show began. She told Mosun about the plan also and told her to also tune in and listen to the show. She cleared her throat as she shifted closer to the microphone with smile over her face as if the world was seeing her as much as they were listening to her. She hoped Desmond was listening because all the charade she had planned for that day’s program was just for him. “Hello world, welcome to the show for today, I am Feire and I will be your gist partner for today. Okay, today I would want a lot of people to call in and discuss a very crucial matter, pour out your heart, let us help ourselves. We do not know who really needs a particular message until it gets to them. Before I unveil the gist, let’s go on a short break, listening to Love Don’t Care. I will be right back!” She heaved a sigh as she pushed up the knobs for the music and clenched her fists together. She picked her phone, wanting to call Desmond again to tune in and listen and also make sure he calls to express his mind but she stopped, she wouldn’t want to make anything look suspicious to him. “We are back! So today, I would want us to talk about relationship again. Firstly, is it possible to suddenly stop loving the fellow you are in a relationship with? Like, you two have been together and suddenly you begin to lose interest in her or him, do you think it is possible? Secondly, how would you feel if you have been in a relationship with someone and possibly the fellow has not been in a relationship with you? I mean, what if the person has broken up with you along the line and you didn’t even know you have been dating yourself until you saw his or her wedding invitation with another name on it. Call in, let me hear your opinions.” She dictated the phone number again and smiled, waiting for calls to start flowing in. “Hello, this is Feire.” She picked a call. “I am Mike.” The voice replied her. “Okay Mike, can you please reduce the sound of your radio, or possibly put it off. You know you can record this part of the program and listen to it later if you want to hear how you sound on radio.” She teased. She knew that’s why a lot of people usually leave the radio on so they can hear themselves as they call and it would end up causing interference. “Okay, done.” The caller replied her. “Yeah, what’s your view about what I just said, Mike.” “I actually feel it is possible to gradually lose love as your journey with someone you once loved.” He started. Feire hummed. “Can you shed more light?” “Sure. There must have been something or possibly some things must have attracted you to me, they must have made me love you, if you begin to lose those things, my love begin to depreciate. You know something, Feire. It is wrong for us to love the container; loving the fine face, killer figure and many more, what is actually meant to draw someone to the other are the compositions the fellow is made up of. That is why those who marry for beauty, when the lady has an accident or if something happens to her and it tampers with her beauty, the find it hard to associate with her, they find it hard to do a lot of things they have always done with her because the center of their attraction has dried off.” He explained. “That’s deep. I am following you, Mike.” “So, if I married a woman or be in a relationship with her because of her creativity, if she drops it along the way to become a mediocre, or become so lazy to chase her creativity, follow her dreams, better herself, and so on, I might gradually start losing my interest in her till I find out, what am I doing in this relationship. Do you understand?” “Yes, I do. You actually shed a bright light on that.” She commended. “About the second question, Feire. I would say only a stupid and heartless fellow would leave the other without the fellow’s consent. That is nonsense, in fact the fellow should be hanged!” Feire burst into laughter. “You are such a clown, Mike. Has this happened to you before?” “No. I just count it as wickedness for someone to just be leading you on and yet the fellow is out of the relationship. The fellow should be buried alive.” “Mike, I feel you should go now.” Feire kept laughing. “I love your show, Feire. Bye!” “Bye.” The call ended. Feire was enjoying the show herself. She liked how the caller expressed himself on the program and was expecting more calls, most especially Desmond’s call. Another call came in and smile brushed through her face again. “Hello, welcome to…” “Hey, Feire. I have always tried to call in but I have never been lucky. It is either the line is busy or not going through. I love your show.” The female voice reeled. “Thank you. May I know your name and where you are calling from?” “I am Simi from the Island.” She replied. “Okay, Simi the Island baby. Let’s hear your own view on the issue on ground.” “See ehn, the former caller explained my mind. Concerning the first question, I think if people maintain the core values of their relationship, then nothing should pull you two apart, but when the main thing that set the two of them in motion is removed, there’s bound to be friction and definitely a retardation.” “You are talking in physics terms.” “Don’t mind me, I studied physics and I am even planning to do my masters in physics.” Feire swooshed a long breath as she wondered why Simi was explaining unnecessary things. She seemed so excited that she called that day and was ready to maximize her call to be free with Feire. “You see about the second question, Feire. Men are just very unfortunate.” “Ha!” Feire exclaimed. “I am sorry, I am also sorry for everyone listening to me. This thing has happened to me before. The guy literally left me and was dating my friend, sleeping with her sef and I didn’t know. Guess what, he was still buying me sharwama, I was also giving him gifts because that was his love language, and I never knew he was done with me until about seven months after he has started having another affair. It was painful.” “What reason did he give?” “Somebody that was unfortunate…” She paused. “Simi, just calm down.” Feire said amidst her laughter. “He was just blabbering, Feire. He didn’t have something precise to say. See ehn, I just want to tell people to better open up to their partner if they are done with the relationship instead of turning one to the sun that shines at night.” “Sun that shines at night?’ “Yes, sun doesn’t shine at night so that means that they turn someone to something impossible to get free from in a long time.” She sighed. “Okay, I understand. Thank you for calling, Simi. Enjoy the rest of your day.” “Thank you!” She drawled with joy as the call ended. She sounded like one who just accomplished a long term goal she has set. Feire sighed again. “This issue is getting so hot o, let us go on another short break. I will be right back.” ** ** ** Desmond was glued to his seat as he listened to the program. He didn’t even know what to think, but in all his mind could think about, he never reasoned that the program was about him, nor did he still read any meaning to why Feire told her to also call in and express his mind. He didn’t know what to do because it was just as if all the courses has been dedicated to him. What would he say? Also call and hurl some abusive words on himself, or some hot curses? He just kept listening, he wouldn’t call because he knew he wasn’t in the right state that call and express his mind. When will I tell Feire? The question dashed through his mind. That was then question he had no answer for. What would he say to her? How would he say it? How would he tell her that he was not interested again? What reason would he give? And how would he explain that a marriage approaching him in about a month’s time has not been under planning even though he has purposed in his mind to leave her? “Wait, why did she ask me to listen to the show?” His eyes widened. His mind just clicked the button. Could it be that Feire already got to know? She has once asked him to tune in and also call, but the talk was about eating good food and resting, but this one has to do with what he seemed to be going through at that moment. “Is anything smelling fishy?” He giggled and just about then, his phone buzzed. It was Feire. ** ** ** Feire just called Desmond to ask why he has not called before she gets back to the show. She didn’t know why might come out of this but she was enjoying it. He sounded bothered now that they spoke, like she could feel that the words were hitting him or maybe he doesn’t know what to say on the show yet. She was back on the show after she dropped the call and checked some comments flowing in via twitter and Instagram. She didn’t do the live video because she knew she might have to call Desmond or something might come up because of the topic of discussion of that day. “Welcome back to the show. I have been reading some hilarious comments on my twitter timeline since the program began and also my Instagram post. You know what guys, let us reduce how we have been cursing others. I have been reading deep baptism of curses since morning and they have been amazing to me. I know we might be heartbroken or hurt, but let us just calm down and reduce the curses. So, you can still call in, the number still remains 0-8-0-3-8-1-0-0-6-2-9.” Another call came in and it was another a lady’s voice she heard. “Hello, this is Mosun.” She heard. She knew the voice she heard was familiar and if there was any familiar voice she was planning to hear, that should Desmond’s own. She just smiled and anticipated how her friend would react to the issue. “So Mosun, where are you coming from?” “I am presently calling from Ikeja. About the first question, I would say I think people who have been calling have been right about that, but there should still be a way out. You know some men can get a woman lazy and then turn their back and say she is now lazy, the same works on the women’s path too. If some people are not interested in a relationship again, they say different things, the things you could have handled by discussion, what stops a woman from working out what attracted him to the man again? And who knows if you are not even the fellow who made him or her lose what you think as valuable?” She paused. “That’s true. But what if the case has gotten out of hands?” Mosun laughed. “It is still the same thing, Feire. Before a pain turns to an uncontrollable one, it started from somewhere. A lot of us are in the habit of piling up issues, not forgiving previous ones, not believing something good can come out of that Nazareth again, now tell me, how would such work? There was no love from the scratch, something triggered it, that means when it seems dead, find what triggered it initially and bring it up again. Every relationship can survive except the two of them, or possibly one is determined to step out.” She explained. “That’s a great one, Mosun. So what of the second question?” “You know what, Feire? Some people are just heartless. When you have now made up your mind that you won’t fight for the relationship anymore, when you make up your mind that you are leaving, why keep the other fellow waiting? It is more painful to hear later, or outside than hearing it from the horse’s mouth. I won’t say more than that, so I don’t start sending packages of curse.” Feire burst out into laughter again. “Thank you, Mosun. Enjoy the rest of your day.” “You too, take care.” Feire adjusted on the seat as she glimpsed at the time. “Just a call to go and we will come to the end of today’s show. If I end up knowing a lot of people still want to call, we might just shift out debate to Twitter, using one particular hashtag, or still hold a part two next time we come on air. So next caller, call in.” ** ** ** Feire’s car halted before Desmond’s building. She had made up her mind to see him that day if he failed to call in while the show was on. She called his number severally after the show but it wasn’t reachable, she knew he must have either switched his phone off or kept in flight mode just for her not to reach him. She still didn’t plan to act like she’s heard anything because she might be wrong eventually, but why has Desmond been avoiding her also? She knocked at his door but there was no response. It was already seven, that evening and his mobile number was still out of reach and there was no trace that he was inside the house. She decided to wait in her car till he comes back and waited till past eight before she saw his car approaching. She alighted as she saw the car and leaned against her car. “Hey, Desmond.” She greeted him with a smile. “Feire, what are you doing here this night?” He asked as he parked his car in front of her own and alighted instead of driving into the compound. “Where have you been?” She asked with folded arms. He shrugged. “What do you mean?” “Where are you coming from by this time of the night, Desmond? It is late and I know you must have left work earlier than now.” “I just went out, Feire. I had to just catch some fun.” He replied. She smiled. “Why have you been acting weird? You have not been calling, now I told you to call during my show, you didn’t call me, Desmond. I just waited and waited but didn’t get you call at all. Now, you are just coming after your mobile number has not been going through since morning.” “I am sorry, I was busy that’s why I couldn’t call.” She chuckled. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you like this?” His phone buzzed and he checked the caller. It was Kike. “Excuse me.” She told Feire and picked Kike’s call. “Let me call you back.” He said to the receiver and faced Feire back. “Nothing is wrong with me, Feire. I don’t know what you are talking about.” “You are drifting away! No calls, no messages, nothing! Is this how busy you have suddenly grown?” She reached for her phone from the car and dialed his number before him but it was not reachable. “What are you doing?” He asked her. “Your number is still not going through, Desmond. Have you finally blocked me?” He smiled. “Feire, just spit out what is in your mind and stop looking for excuses!” He exclaimed. Feire’s eyes thinned as he spoke. “Let us check your phone to confirm why my call hasn’t been delivering and another call came through, Desmond.” He shook his head in disapproval. “If you have to check my phone before you trust me, dey your lane.” He blurted out. “What lane, Desmond! Your mobile number hasn’t been going through, even right before you and you are trying to turn it all to trust issue. Let us exchange phones for tonight if you truly trust me too.” “Feire!” He shouted. Feire smiled. “You can’t, I know you can’t. I am unadulterated, I can drop my phone with you till tomorrow. If it is the same for you, try it.” “You know this phone issue has scattered more relationship than you can ever imagine.” “Yeah, Desmond. It has scattered a lot of relationships with cracks. Relationship where one of them cannot drop his or her phone again because of hidden agenda, relationships where one of them might possibly be doing something contradictory and wouldn’t let the other see.” “What exactly is in your mind that you haven’t said, Feire?” He asked. “It is what you have in your mind that is making you uncomfortable, Desmond. You are trying to get something out of me, but trust me I won’t budge.” She opened the car and left. ** ** ** From all the signals Feire has been getting, she was already building her expectations that Desmond could come anytime to open up and end the relationship officially. She didn’t even know what she stood for anymore. She wasn’t sure if she should still trail him and catch him red handed or just let him go. She needed fact, she needed what was surer than allegation but nothing was just clicking in her head as she was. She got home, didn’t eat and just went to bed. Mosun tried to ask her what was wrong but she didn’t talk to her till she slept off that night and it was midnight already, she was awake and still haven’t gotten over the thought of what must have gone wrong and might be happening at that moment. She needed an idea to just pop up as she paced around the room. There it was, something just crossed her mind – meeting Kike. ** ** ** Please drop your comments, like and share. It'll go a long way.
