IMO, the CBN is being controlled by their lenders. Their lenders want rate unification. CBN is of the opinion that eliminating black market completely will help them achieve rate unification. Also, banks would not want to risk sanctions so it will be difficult to hoard. It will also be easy to track buyers of the fx.

In all of this, I just feel we are a very complex nation. Normally the higher the rate the lower the quantity of fx demanded but here due to our abnormal nature, the higher the rate, the higher the quantity of fx demanded. Me no understand our economics

That's a landing cost of 1.475m. his asking is 1.7m which is negotiable. Let's say he finally sells 1.65m....thats 180k profit which is even not up to 15% of his investment and you call him an exploiter. Haba
