fallout87:
If Dino is unfit by his actions then what about Remi Tinubu?

She is the worst. She acts like a conflicted child, biting heads with everyone. Not one conflict is about law or regulations. Not one benefits any man. It is only politics and corrupt power struggle.
And those who follow her to rant and rave like she does are called what? huh If a sick man disrobes in the market place and challenges you to a duel, will you walk away or disrobe just like he has done in order to engage him in fisticuffs? Your answer will allow me to know where to place you! Have a great day... sad

Before you continue with this cartographical analysis of Bourdillon cheesy Kindly get a copy of the ultimatum abi instruction dished to Dino by APC SW peeps including their women cheesy He has demystified your god grincheesy Dino Melaye has got the heart of a lion wink
Tinubu is NOT my god and can never be! angry Check through all my posts on this forum. But Dino is as bad as Tinubu, if not worse. Dino sports the arrogance of Nero, and relishes in displaying the bad behaviour of a subnormal toddler. He posts selfies of his opulent lifestyle, while his constituency which is the most pauperised and backward area in the Middle-belt,wallows in deprivation, under-development and retardation.

What has Dino done for them? Nothing. sad How has he represented their interests? Pathetically. Instead of focusing on what he was supposed to do in the senate, he delved into the gutter to exchange filthy words with a woman. When will he grow up?

And you are hailing him by saying he has the heart of a lion? shocked Which dirty, stupid lion for goodness sake?

Good to see this cheesygrin He has the heart of a lion...
Heart of which lion?? shocked Do you know how long Bourdillon Road is? huh If you stand at the Falomo end, those at the McPherson end or the Alexander/Gerrard axis will never, ever see you unless they are psychic! Dino obviously stood far away from Tinubu's house, and tried to make every one believe that he was on Bourdillon Road. mtcheew!

Dino Melaye is a joker. What part of Bourdillon Road did he get to? 1st Bourdillon or 2nd Bourdillon?

Why didn't he go to Mopa-Kabba-Iya Gbedde road in Kogi state to prance around, on those pothole ridden gullies? huh

This woman will make aso-oke and adire go out of fashion, with her preference for lace & satin fabrics. I used to think that Oloris (or queens) were supposed to uphold the tradition and culture of their people, by promoting their cultural outfits. This lady seems to have forgotten that. And why does she always wear her shawl on the right shoulder, when it is supposed to be on the left?

Anyway, na wetin concern me sef? undecided Thank God that the royal queens of other traditional rulers in Yoruba land know how to put together their cultural outfits really well. The headties or geles of those Tejuosho queens, are a source of inspiration! cheesy
Science/TechnologyRe: Ayokunle Adeniran Invents Gas-powered Iron by Tequilah: 6:17pm On Jul 03, 2016
Pedagogue:
This is very misleading. To 'invent' is to create. There are so many gas-powered irons in the market. So how can this be his invention? I'm always quick at celebrating ingenuity, but this is not INGENIOUS!

Don't get me wrong. The young chap has done very well, but let's always say the truth. This is not an invention. It's a caricature.

Nigeria will only be respected in the comity of nations if and when we have genuine inventions.

Where are the "so many gas-powered irons in the market", that you made reference to? Which markets, please? huh Can you cite them and post the pictures here, as well as the names of the manufacturers? shocked It would be nice if you could include the prices too!! angry

AlphaHandMaiden:
we are lagging behind hugely in the developements being made in building technology. The use of insulated wall and roof build up, double glazing, curtain walls, alternative cooling and power sources just to mention a few.
You made a lot of valid points, but advocating the use of double-glazing in this sweltering Nigerian heat is rather strange.

Ilaje44:
Well it's equally fallacious to think that everyone on Nairaland went to school in the age of the internet. It's even more fallacious to think you have provided a proof, when all you provided was just an opinion of one person, which also in no way proofed conclusively that the statement was indeed made by David Mark. Try again!
Hehehe....nothing wey person no go see for nairaland! shocked cheesy Even if you did not go to school during the age of internet, a lot of things that took place prior to the internet age, have been documented online. So kindly stop wallowing in ignorance and act your age. cheesy

You claimed that Tanko Ayuba made a statement, and you have been corrected by several people in this thread, yet you are still hanging stubbornly to your misguided notions. shocked You could not even provide any accurate, documented proof that Tank Ayuba made the statement. I have provided two sources that show that David Mark made that statement, but you are still refusing to accept correction. Sorry, I can't help you if you decide to cling tenaciously to your error. undecided
PoliticsRe: General Abubakar Tanko Ayuba Is Dead by Tequilah: 10:45pm On May 26, 2016
Ilaje44:
So David Mark made it according to Google not? In what capacity did he make it?
Oh dear, weren't you taught how to use the internet to conduct research? shocked Ok, let me indulge you for once. David Mark made that comment when he was Minister of Communications in 1989. Now admit you were wrong, and humbly apologise to those who have pointed out the error in your previous comments.

David Mark, the Minister of Communication, the man whose duty it was to expand access to telephony and stimulate the growth of Nigeria-rooted telecommunication enterprises, decreed with conclusive authority that being poor and owning a telephone was mutually exclusive.

It was Mark’s present to a Nigeria whose telephone density was unaccountably lower than that of its smaller and poorer neighboring countries!

As I focused still on his contact, it occurred to me that if this was David Mark’s world, or if, in 2016, telephone access was still within his purview, there probably won’t be 216 million connected telephone lines in Nigeria today. The enterprises spinning-off from the GSM revolution may exist only in the realm of possibilities. And countless Nigerians employed in the telecommunications sector would be jobless or prisoners.

If Mark was still the proverbial custodian of the yam and the knife, the odds are that Mark would have fed the rich and left ‘the poor’ to starve. He would have worked to keep the circulation of telephones within his circle of the affluent. He would have endeavored to foreclose the democratization of telephones in Nigeria.

Mark’s idea of a healthy social order is one in which class apartheid prevails, one in which the state treats a certain demographic as subhuman, one in which the poor live off the refuse dump at the backyard of the rich.http://saharareporters.com/2016/05/09/encountering-david-mark-rich-poor-man-emmanuel-uchenna-ugwu

One of the many mediocre ministers ever produced by Nigeria. A useless square peg in a round hole who believed that telephone was not for the poor. I don't miss him kobo epinni rara
Another fallacy. Don't you think it is time to stop peddling falsehood? David Mark made that statement NOT Tanko Ayuba. Do some research. Google is your friend! shocked

Bishop:
As minister he prophesied that communication was not for the poor, but God pass am... sim card is 100 naira, every single Nigerian can afford it. May God grant your soul peace
Wrong!! shocked He was not the one who said that. Didn't you guys study history or read newspapers, while you were in school? shocked

It is a fact that Senator David Mark is a very controversial figure. He does things without very deep thought; he talks extemporaneously and in the process cause un-necessary anxiety in the process. It will be recalled that, his election as a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria was a very polemical one, as he was accused of using unbridled violence as well as wantonly manipulating the electoral process. The controversies that dogged his election are still on-going.

But far more disturbing and worrisome about David Mark is his scant regard for the Nigerian people. He is of the firm opinion that the military is a special breed that should be emulated all the time by the Nigerian civilian. So, the question is, how can a person who has no democratic credentials and who has not thoroughly imbibed the basic tenets of democracy emerged as Senate President? What does this kind of garrison politics portends for the future of the legislature now and in the future? Has the Nigerian circulating elite learnt anything tangible from the events of the previous republics in the country?

It will be recalled that David Mark as the minister of communication said rather flippantly that, phones were not meant for the poor and the downtrodden in the society. To him phones should only be used by affluent and influential in the society. http://www.gamji.com/article6000/NEWS7164.htm

PoliticsRe: Etcetera: Buhari Might Be The Last President Of Nigeria by Tequilah: 11:55pm On Apr 24, 2016
khSteel:
At the bold, I have said it here before "We have tried to make Nigeria our playground and have sacrificed so much in such believe and mindset"; the truth is we have actively & strongly believed in the Nigerian concept/project but the facts on ground does not support/require such commitment from us any longer. We all saw your people demonstrating on the streets of Lagos asking us to leave Lagos, we all heard the threats from your Oba loud and clear; this and many more. Trust me, we can be good neighbours; but, we CAN NEVER be good countrymen. This is the simple unalloyed TRUTH.

Take this to the bank, most of us have already developed a short/mid- term plans of moving our investments to the East; and we 1000% support moves to make this relocation permanent as a full-fledged Independent country (SE Nigeria).
Guy, please tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. When you make reference to an event, in your bid to buttress a point, please put it in proper context.

When you were repeating the story about how the Oba of Lagos threatened your people, why did you ignore the fact that twenty (20) of your Eze Nd'Igbo leaders were in attendance, and even clapped happily for the Oba when he made those comments? There is no record anywhere that those 20 Ezes expressed their disgust at the Oba's comments, neither did they defend Igbo interests at that meeting. So who is fooling whom?? huh Na wa o!

I'm sorry but your post is not making much sense anymore.

which one is apart from the word die?

the question is, did he say that those 5%ers will die like you claimed or not? you need to clarify this.

seems you didn't watch the interview yourself. somebody just told you and you decided to add your own.

I'm sure that when you are narrating it to your children you will say that Buhari threatened to kill all Igbos, and that is how you people foster hatred within your own people.

Your grandparents and parents told you lies about the civil war and now you guys can't stop hating Yorubas and Hausas.

I don't expect Buhari to surround himself with people who hate him and can derail his government.

you that you are typing this, do you not love your own people more than the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba people?

He obeyed the law by appointing people from all the 36 states into his ministerial cabinet.

I wonder what else you want.

You want him to vacate the presidency and put one of your brothers there abi? it doesn't work that way in a democracy OK?
Even when they are recycling the stories about how the Oba of Lagos threatened their people, they always ignore the fact that twenty (20) of their Eze Nd'Igbo leaders were in attendance, and even clapped happily for the Oba when he made those comments. There is no record anywhere that those 20 Ezes expressed their disgust at the Oba's comments, neither did they defend Igbo interests at that meeting. So who is fooling whom?? sad
EducationRe: UNILAG Students Sign Re-Absorption Form, Before Being Re-admitted Back To School by Tequilah: 11:03pm On Apr 24, 2016
Ayo25:
I was lucky to attend Unilag during the four most peaceful period in the history of the school 2006-2010. Coincindentally there was no SUG during this period. Save for 3 months ASUU strike each in 2007 and 2009, there was no disruption in academic activities occassioned by student's restiveness. There was no SUG then and actually students were not bothered because there was no need for it. The school management did its best to make students comfortable and whenever they fell short, students just bear with them. There were periods during exam when therep is no light at night in the hostels and students who want to prepare for exams would take their books under the street lights to read. Whatever problem the school has is not a permanent problem. You have to dialogue with the management and give them time to look into it. They should proscribe SUG if that would bring back lasting peace in the school.
Kai!! There was no SUG during your set??! shocked You missed the glorious days of Unilag. In our own days, power supply was constant, 24x7. We didn't even know when NEPA decided to misbehave, because the school's back-up power system was highly effective. But unfortunately, it appears that the management and school authorities have allowed the school's back-up power network to fall into a state of disrepair. How sad.

And why on earth should the school proscribe the SUG? Is Unilag now a breeding ground for chickens and docile infantile dummies who do not know their left from their right? Dissent is a fact of life and it occurs in every sphere. What matters is how you handle it and prevent it from escalating into a conflict.
