According to various media reports, Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, president, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), yesterday said that some 30,000 Bureaux De Change (BDC) workers would be sacked within the first quarter of this year.
Gwadabe stated that the move is a direct result of the continued loss of business by operators after the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) stoppage of weekly dollar sales to the body.
The ABCON boss listed workers to be affected as including directors, auditors, operations managers and compliance officers, as well as chief executives.

Rubbish! They should stop these annual fund raising trips for British universities, abeg. We have enough private universities to take care of the educational needs of Nigerian students, on our shores. Apart from the huge fees that Naija students pay in Britain, they are not allowed to work after their studies and they are subjected to lousy treatment by British embassy staff in their pursuit of a student visa. Enough is enough, please. Let them carry their roadshows to another country.

If not for the huge fees naija students pay in their universities, how would they be able to meet up with the cost of running their schools when their own citizens pay so little as fees, in comparison with foreign students?

The Dr in question obtained lacerations to the back of his head and he bled profusely.

All of the head is NOT visible in the picture but we can see evidence of blood loss.

It is extremely petty and sycophantic to attempt to justify the crude behaviour of the policemen acting under orders from above by saying that shot only refers to guns.

1. What informed the use of such Riot dispersal measures in a Largely peaceful rally by NOBLE professionals being escorted by the DSS and Police?
2. Has the Police admitted guilt and tendered an apology for the heavy-handedness?
3. Will they use similar force on NBA,NUPENG, NPA, FAAN etc staff?

It is time someone did a body count of how many patients have been killed through the negligence and ineptitude of doctors in state-owned hospitals, and even the private ones.

They should have learnt the rudiments of what it takes to carry out protest marches, and get prepared for the outcome of events, before they decided to embark on the protest. They failed to do so, now they are coming out to cry like babies instead of taking tutorials from NLC workers.

They are lucky the protest did not take place in Lagos. Area boys would have hijacked the whole thing, and even stoned them in the process...
