Ogbeni, get your facts right. Both French and Arabic are not even in the top 4. If they had to introduce foreign language, why not chinese or Spanish, the top two most spoken languages in the world?

you guys still don't get the drift do you? my point was about the spread of the languages not the population. Arabic and French are spread among many more countries than others apart from English. For instance 1 billion people speaking Hindu in India only won't be as beneficial as only 100 million people speaking French across ivory coast, togo, Cameroon, France, and Chad. The drafters of the curriculum know this, they aren't stupidd.

Just so you know, it's Mandarin, English, Spanish,Hindu before Arabic. If it was about widely spoken...it would be Mandarin and good old English.

that was why I stressed on 'spread' not population. A lot of people speak mandarin but only in China. Arabic is spoken in Libya Morocco Algeria Iraq Iran Saudi Arabia Kuwait Tunisia UAE so many so many. Same as French Angola Cameroon France togo etc . How many counties speak Spanish or Hindu. Hindu is only India. Remove the religious bias in your eyes and agree that French and Arabic are ideal.

the Koran used in Nigeria is written in Arabic and the bible used in Nigeria is written in English. We should stop learning English language in Nigerian schools. Its a Christian agenda.

Arabic and French are the most widely spoken languages among different countries in the world bar English language. Learning Arabic and French would make Nigerians communicate effectively across the world. Chinese and Indian are not as widely spread as Arabic and French. I hope you have learnt something today. Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of defrauding the Spanish tax authorities of 14.7million Euros.

Spain prosecutor’s office in Madrid has filed a tax fraud lawsuit against the Portuguese ace, according to Mirror.


In a statement on Tuesday, the prosecutor’s office said Ronaldo had knowingly used a “business structure” created in 2010 to hide his income in Spain from his image rights.

The lawsuit is based on a report sent to the prosecutor’s office from Spain’s tax agency AEAT, it said.
