Mune: In the spirit of fairness, assuming Muslims are the majority and Christian are second in population, no matter what, at the helm, with an Atiku ticket, a Christian interest will be represented and that's fair. For a Muslim Muslim ticket, that's a typical Bleep you to the Christian communities and will be very counterproductive. Let's not kid ourselves. This muslim muslim or christian christian thingy is not about any interest. christian interest, muslum interest bla bla bla It's only about bragging rights... Jonathan the christian; was it not almajiri interests he pursued more? |

Acidosis: We all know that Yaradua was barely in charge but that's by the way.
That 13 years of OBJ and GEJ you have here could have been 17 years, if GEJ had done enough to win his second term but that's by the way again.
You have to be objective and keep your emotions aside to understand CAN's view. CAN don't have the powers to decide who wins or losses any election, whether at the primary level or general elections.
The issue here is about having two Muslims as presidential and vice presidential candidates, especially for a ruling party.
If you're hoping to see CAN come out to tell you to vote Peter Obi or another Christian, then you will have to wait till the day of rapture. Don't get me wrong. The major reason why i supported Amaechi or Osinbajo to emerge over Tinubu was because i foresaw this running mate wahala. I am definitely against a Muslim Muslim ticket; as much as i am against another 8 years of a Muslim Presidency. That was why i was mad when PDP refused to zone the presidential primaries to the south under the flimsy excuse of throwing the contest open. So both the Muslim Muslim ticket and power being retained by another Muslim after 8 years of Buhari are equally very bad in my eyes. So i do not have anything against CAN speaking out against a Muslim Muslim ticket, but they should have spoken out about another Muslim succeeding Buhari, and should have done it when Atiku emerged for PDP. So CAN are being hypocritical i insist! |
Politics › Re: CAN Rejects Muslim/Muslim Presidential Ticket. Says This Is Not 1993 by tesppidd: 6:47am On Jun 11, 2022 |
Acidosis: CAN rejects Muslim/Muslim Presidential ticket not Muslim Presidency.
Atiku and Tinubu are Muslims. The issue here is who becomes the vice president.
Why do you want CAN to reject a Muslim Presidency when OBJ and GEJ spent a combined 15 years in Aso rock? Compare that with Buhari and Yaradua's 10 years.. Lol i am sure you are a Christian like me; see how you are lying and twisting facts. Obasanjo and Jonathan spent 13 years in Aso Rock. Yaradua and Buhari will spend 11 years in Aso Rock. So CAN thinks it is okay for Atiku to follow with another 8 years after Buhari finishes Something is wrong with you and CAN. |

Peter obi is rich,
What is he using his money to do?....no foundation, no NGO nothing.
If Peter obi is an Eldorado,Anambra should be model for all states not Lagos.on several occasions other states have visited Lagos to copy one or two things from them.
Nigeria doesn't necessarily need a stingy old man but someone creative, innovative, leaders ,talent fishers and smart president! Word. |

Acidosis: Northern Fulani? What's CAN's business with that?
Are you aware that some members of CAN are Fulanis? CAN has no business with tribal affiliations.
It is a CHRISTIAN religious body, not an ethnic NGO dude!
Stick to the topic and stop dragging CAN into your Fulani discussion. It is strictly a religious body and its stance applies to all parties. It is a simple question; "why did CAN not condemn PDP for giving Atiku their ticket, making it a potential 16 straight years of Muslim Presidency?" why did CAN have to wait for Tinubu to energe before remembering that they have Christian rights to protect? The queation is not so hard na! |

AntiMahdi: Idiot, the entire reason there is a caliphate in the north was because of a successful Fulani led Jihadist revolution that ousted the irreligious Awusa kings.
The Fulani caliphate came to power riding on the blood soaked hoofs of their war horses.
That same Fulani sectarian govt has been dictating Sharia law into our polity by means of politicking and here you are trying to divorce the sword of the Jihad from the Jihadist. Shove all this rubbish all up in your asssssh0le. You're talking rubbish. |

joyd200: You assumption is unfair. I'm a Christian but I don't believe the choice of Tinubu has anything to do with him been a Muslim. BAT is a party man, a focused one for that matter. He has never jump from one party to another, rather he formed alliance with other parties to make his party stronger. He is the Landlord of his party.
How do you expect a non politician, a non party man like Osibanjo who has enjoyed favor of f appointments and nominations by BAT to defeat him? Technically he can't. Osibanjo is love by electorates not by delegates. If he was sure Nigerians want him, he should have left APC (a party found and funded by BAT) to form his own party and test his love in general election.
You can't be on a ride on another man's car to a journal and want to control him. As a professor he should have know better. He saw what happened to Ambode, he did not learn. He should have learn from Obaseki, who sort election from another party.
Frankly, the VP is not politically smart. This is one and his only chance, he may eventually go underground after the general election. Seems you missed the point of argument. We are talking about the governors. Why they all claimed they wanted power to go from North to the South for fairness and equity but did not deem it necessary for power to go from Muslim to Christian for the same fairness and equity. |

spartanman007: Of course, the killings of Christians has always been reoccurring in Nigeria, it is just so unfortunate that it has become a campaign strategy in the country to kick against the incumbent government. Right from the regime of OBJ Christians had been attacked in Plateau State, Kano State, Kaduna State and nobody came out for the VPs back then. Even when we had presidents that were Christians. I do not know why people are putting the blames of these killings on the VP. Yes it is sad and tragic that innocent lives are been lost in scores, but the power did not belong to the VP to take military actions. Moreover, the president of recent deployed military to the affected areas and released some funds in the fight against these killings. It's all politics bro, all politics. And trust me when i tell you; there are very many Christians who wake up everyday praying for more and more Christians to be killed in Benue and over the country. Just to point their fucccking fingers at the FG and say "see, i told you, they want to islamize nigeria and eliminate Christians" Many who wish for it to continue. |

At the end of the day i still blame that docile President resident at Aso Rock.
You sit down there and allow people who call themselves governors dictate for the "president" on whom your successor should be, who should continue with your 'policies'
Same way he sat down there while many of his kinsmen lost primary elections in Katsina, his own home state.

After 8 years of Buhari, PDP still gave their ticket to Atiku, which would mean 26 straight years of Northern Fulani Islamic rule.

alsudan: They dumped him because he’s a Christian nothing more.
Same thing they did to Osinbajo, even as a serving VP. He been a Christian and a RCCG pastor meant he heard Zero Chance in APC. Spot on. My gut tells me that; of the 3 top contenders Tunubu, Amaechi and Osinbajo, they went with Tinubu because he is a Muslim. They saw Tinubu as a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to have their cake and eat it; cede power to the South and still have a Muslim as President. The best option was still Osinbajo; with the support of Buhari, the South West and them Northern governors, PYO would defeat Atiku all day everyday. |
