OhBritannia: Pique is one of the most underrated defenders in the world. He is not getting the recognition he deserve even in Barcelona and the world. His consistency is something to be appreciative about. Personally i have never never never lost confidence in Pique. But he's being bashed and destroyed several times here.. Many wanted him out though. |

jpmoriarti: Lmaooo Don't mind me jare.
We all can have discussions and disagree. It is fine even though you call my opinion trash. It is good that everyone is held responsible for what they say. I am responsible for what I said. Of course, I see reasons why maybe some of my opinions might not be entirely correct. Stats do not lie.
Maybe, I am blaming Messi too much. Maybe I am not apportioning enough blames on the coaches. But I worship Messi just like any normal Barca fan. However, we can still have these discussions even though it might not be popular. I think it's best to just avoid the temptations to either praise him or bash him or compare and contrast his presence and absense when it comes down to our matches. There's absolutely no need for that.. The only time i think we should be discussing Messi is when talking about his game with PSG or when these Madrid people come with their other fake goat crusade. |

jpmoriarti: Chaiii this one na see finish.
Me that analyses football for some sport channels.
Dropping deep is not what I am talking about.
Question is what do you do when the team does not have the ball? How do you press as a cohesive unit? How do you react when the team was under immense pressure?
Some of us here like tespidd would rather have the team continue to struggle and become useless so that he could be proven right that this team cannot do well without Messi, at least not until another 4 or 5 years.
Pathetic if you ask me.
Well, #XaviBall proves that we can become a better team even without Messi. Stop grasping at straws.. You've been bashed left right and centre, don't try to rope me in. You brought Messi into this matter by suggesting that we did poorly because Messi used to walk and lazy around.. Instead of you to dispute the numbers brought forward by Expert 17 to debunk your theory, you are calling tesppidd. Carry your cross, you've been called out for your thrash opinion.. |

jpmoriarti: I know you worship every step Messi took. Fortunately for me, I don't.
But I will always support him in ARG. " Gone are the days when Messi walks around the pitch when the team is under pressure"
The above comment is the comment that set off the whole convo. Many of us love Messi but try not to bring him up directly or indirectly when talking about our team because he has moved on. We only talk about him when madridiots try to slander him here. And as for the worship part, Every true barca fan must "worship" Messi. So rather you are the odd one out. Take a count here and see that 90 percent still "worship" Messi. You are not more barca fan than others. You cannot be more catholic than the Pope. |

Fortunately for me, I am not part of the playing staff. So I can gloat all I want and slander anyone I want.
Messi is the GOAT but he is no longer part of our squad. When I criticise him, I am squarely referring to the period after our treble under Enrique. I know this is not a popular discussion here but someone has to say them nonetheless.
I am not part of your cheerleaders who saw nothing wrong with our performances after the treble till now. I cannot criticise that era without mentioning Messi. He was the captain and we went through the worst period in recent times. After the treble Messi led in Goals and Assists in every single season till he left, so you're talking nonsense! |

Jp is unbelievable..
No true fan is happy with the way Messi left us. It's okay he left finally and the team is doing well but he could have left much better.
Everybody else tries to forget about Messi and focus on the team and be happy with the progress so far.
But Jp always has an indirect slander on Messi from time to time,..
That's not cool. |

jpmoriarti: 100% disagree.
Why do you think we became a laugh amongst European football in the last 6 years, even with Messi still playing AM and striker and scoring bagful of goals?
I have seen Messi, totally aloof and unbothered, walking in the pitch while the team was under immense pressure. It is attitude problem with him and others. Everything is not about scoring mountains of goals. You score 4 - 0 in the first leg and lose 5 - 0 in the second. What is the point in that?
Yes we have moved on from that sordid era, but I can't forgive it. Busquets, Alba and Pique has stayed back to redeem their battered image. Unfortunately for Messi, Suarez and co, they no longer have such opportunity. Not just Messi. Every single player has one moment or the other when they would be aloof in the course of 90 minutes. But you/they focus on Messi. I keep warning/advicing you.. Stop jumping the gun. This team isn't the first to play beautiful football, and this team isn't the first to have a good unbeaten streak... Your slander is coming too early... Be patient and be humble. Be warned! |

jpmoriarti: Yeahh we have won nothing yet but the sensation is different this time. Koeman won something last year but we never felt this way. Any coach can win trophies but it takes special coach to play well. Winning trophies will just be a natural consequence.
Of course in the last 5 or 6 years, it is not uncommon to see Messi walking around the pitch while the team is throwing away 3 -0 lead or getting spanked 8-2. The coach would be afraid to say something so as not to unruffle the GOAT.
Now, the team does not have such issues anymore. No big ego to protect. There's a solidarity amongst the team and everyone merits their presence in the pitch. Yeah it's a wonderful feeling right now, the team is playing really well and the future looks good. May i remind you that here have been teams before us who played wonderful and orgasmic football without any real dominance in terms of the big silverware(in our case the UCL and A string of La Liga titles). At the end if we play all this beautiful football and we don't win the big trophies, hmn.. the kain trolling wey we go chop ehn. It's not reasonable for you to conclude that one player out of ten outfield players not pressing is the reason we threw away a 3 nil lead or an 8-2 loss. TSeriously The same one who gave us the 3 nil lead in the first instance?? Needless to remind you that Messi was walking between 2009 and 2017 as well. Anyway, it's your opinion but my own is stop being subliminal about it. Like you just did in this post, continue to suggest openly that Messi was the reason we performed poorly in the last 3 years. Just stop dropping sneaky and veiled remarks about him. If you must pls do it openly. |

jpmoriarti: The whole team is defending better. Everyone tracks back. See Ferran Torres and Dembele.
Gone are the days when one player walks around the pitch while the team is under pressure.
Now, everyone digs in and helps out in defending. This is why we're beginning to keep more clean sheets.
And the team is also very much fitter. They outrun all the their opponents. Hard working team we've got now.
#XaviBall I would have preferred you said, players weren't tracking back, pressing and work rate was low. But it's obvious what you mean when you say "one player" But still that was never the problem!. In "those days" when one player wasn't tracking back, we still won Sextuples, Multiple back to back to back La Liga titles and Tiki Taka was at it's best. The problem in recent times was that we had a non performing coach and bought a lot of costly but washed up players. Remember we have won nothing yet; so take it easy. No need taking sublimnals at every opportunity; let's look forward and forge ahead. |
