aManFromMars: @Josh: interesting post, but one doesn't have to be a Christian to stand up for the 'right' thing. It doesn't matter if you're religious or not, if you decide to be honest in Nigeria, you'll be derided for doing so.
Most of us here have had our own personal experiences, I'm sure.
This is something I've been thinking about lately. The the question that keeps crossing my mind is this;

With all the corruption, bribery and underhanded deals I've been hearing about, is it possible to be an honest, ethical, business owner, and be successful In Nigeria?

Ask your question jare ATMC. Logicboy and musk comment in the other chatbox. That gives you equal right to do so here, within the limits of the rules.

Logicboy03: Haba, take it easy. I am a human being like you.

How do you leave something that makes you and your partner happy?

Or do you think I am the devil behind this username with no feelings? I know that I might sound like some evil genius that enjoys destroying christians on nairaland but it is not so. I am just a man (or boy according to ishilove) that is passionate with his beliefs. I hurt, I bleed, I feel.......

you must be rightly asking yourself why I am here complaining on the christian chatbox. You must understand that sometimes people just need to vent at times. I just thought that I should share something that we all can learn from.

Most christians here dont know what it is to be truly discriminated for your beliefs. Trust me it hurts more than any bombs boko haram could use on christians. Imagine wondering how you are going to get married or get along with people when you must hide who you are to most of your friends. As a christian, you have decided to marry a christian spouse in a religious country where you are going to have over 40 million potential christian partners. Can you imagine what it must feel like to know that most girls would run away from you knowing what you believe in?

Sorry for ranting and thanks for your advice
Actually some girls will see you as s challenge. They will go out with you in hopes of converting you. Granted this is not the best scenario for you, but there are those kinds of girls.

My dad used to say, "Woman claim they've found the perfect man. Then they spend the rest of their lives trying to change him."

So do you go to church to hide the fact that you are atheist? I'm still trying to get past the fact that you are at church. Just wondering.

Alfa Seltzer: You sound afraid of us. Don't be. We are harmless. I want to invite you to our next retreat in December when we celebrate the birth of the nazarene. Contrary to popular beliefs, he was a gift to us.

I am very fine thank you. Satan saw me through the rough night and made me breathe again this morning. His works are marvelous.

Bless your heart.

Glad you are good. smiley

OK...question

Explain to me why this is a big deal. I've heard others complain about this. Is there some prize for being online the longest,? Is it seniority?

Doesn't it just show we have way to much time on our hands?

Someone explain please.

Christianity EtcRe: The Satanic Chatbox. Everybody Is Welcome by texanomaly(f): 12:43pm On Oct 07, 2013
Alfa Seltzer: No it isn't.

For Satan so loved us that He gave us the wisdom to destroy in order to build better. Mankind had and will always advance through destruction.

Afam4eva: I just googled for the city and it seemed like a a peaceful, calm and liveable town. Btw, how do you Nigerian find these places that seem off the radar. There's nowhere in world you don't find Nigerians. I won't be surprised if there are Nigerians who like in Omaha, Nebraska, Maine or even Alaska grin
I'm actually American. Because of the university and the many hospitals and doctors offices, we have a large community of foreigners. We have a few international markets because of this. Anything they don't stock, I'm sure they can get. That's the thing about Texas, the people are pretty friendly. Especially in the 'villages'. wink

It is not close to any that you mentioned, but weekends in any of them would not be out of the question.

Afam4eva: I intend starting my own IT firm but first, it won't be a bad idea to work for some company for some time. I'm leaving Nigeria to put mind and sould together and then return much later. If i remain in Nigeria, i might join Ogboni. My head wan scatter for here.
Come to Lubbock, TX. Lubbock Independent School District is looking for IT personnel. They got a federal grant to upgrade all technology in the entire school district. Lots of technology, no one that knows what to do with it. It is also a great city for starting a business. smiley
