genq: Here we go again! Another topic posted for the sole purpose of inviting frustrated NL femcels to come bash your husband.
Just a quick question based off the highlighted statement below. Why is it that a man can feed, house and even clothe a woman and the children all of his life but you will never hear him announce this to the hearing of others - but let a woman pay the bills for just one out of thirty years, the whole world must know and we won't hear the last of it! Any man wey God put him food for woman hand, him name na sorry. |

freeze001: They will not bomb the area or kill he residents there o! If it is in the South (Niger Delta), they will arrange with Navy and military to come and bomb/destroy the area along with surrounding villages and persons resident there. Where dem see crude for illegal refining if it is not through pipelines laid form the same Niger Delta to that arid region? Or have they started accessing the one they claim to have found somewhere in the north? The reason is because the ones in Kano will humbly surrender to the police while the dare devils in the south south will pull out guns to fight. |

Your song was stolen in 2003, you knew it all along and decide to go to court for the first time in 2019 (sixteen years later). Delay defeats equity. Blackface, you slept on your rights, you or lawyers will not give you this advice because they need your money. |

Sports › Jose Mourinho Appointed Tottenham Head Coach by TEYA(op): 9:58am On Nov 20, 2019 |
Jose Mourinho has been named Tottenham head coach until the end of the 2023 season. The former Manchester United and Chelsea boss replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked on Tuesday. Negotiations between Spurs and Mourinho - who had been out of work since he was sacked by United in December - intensified over the last few days and concluded in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Mourinho said: "I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters. The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me." His first game will be at the London Stadium on Saturday as Tottenham travel to take on West Ham in the Premier League. Chairman Daniel Levy said he was "reluctant" to sack Pochettino, whose Spurs side lost to Liverpool in last season's Champions League final, but explained the decision had to be made in the "club's best interests". "He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room." Mourinho, who lives in London, inherits Tottenham with the club 14th in the Premier League and having won just five matches all season. He turned down job offers in China, Spain and Portugal since leaving United. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11865330/jose-mourinho-appointed-tottenham-head-coach

Investment › Re: Home Ownership Is Mostly A Bad Investment- Expert Says by TEYA: 8:49am On Nov 15, 2019 |
dake40: Read the post again. And this time, be more careful...
Don’t buy a house unless:
1. Mortgage is < 8%,
2. You can pay cash,
3. You plan to live in it for 10 years,
At a grown age, you know the time has come to have your property (though still optional), and during this time, you would have have enough to buy a home (with latest design)
The issue with Africans is LANDLORD mentality which is very wrong... For young hustlers, dont build/buy a house you know you wont live in for years when you can rent 1 and reinvest the remaining funds in good investments.. Comprehension seems to be a rare skill on nairaland. This man gave the bolded conditions but nairalanders failed to see it. Na wa o! |
Investment › Re: Home Ownership Is Mostly A Bad Investment- Expert Says by TEYA: 8:45am On Nov 15, 2019 |
aybabz101: maybe he meant home ownership in Lagos Island is a bad investment......coz all I can reference his assertion to are only the upper class and the upper middle class Nigerians.
This is the worst advise for the average Nigerian since most of the population is struggling to meet ends needs. Now imagine paying school fees, rent, transportation, bills every month on a salary of let's say 70k, it's going to be hectic. But with this salary in a small town in 9ja and with a good cooperative society ( who gives out non interest loans) I can get one plot of land at d outskirt of a major town and develop.
Moreover, House ownership is more of a cultural ritual in 9ja. Families struggle very hard to build houses so that they can be associated with it and it is a thing of pride to them (ie, they are in there homes, no landlord or landlady can come and harass them anyhow). It gives families a sense of ownership and security.
Even in foreign countries, house ownership is a thing that most of them want to achieve and they throw big parties involving families and friends when this is achieved.
I totally disagree with Dr. Tayo. Even with the rate of inflation around d world, properties and lands are d only assets apart from gold dat I know of that there values are in most cases always increasing. This means that the prices of house rent will always increase and not the d other way round (if the quality of the home is maintained or improved upon?) You guys didn't completely get Dr. Tayo. He said there are conditions under which house ownership is not a wasted investment and one of them is if the mortgage is less than 8%. If there is an organisation that can give you loan at 0% interest, then it is good for you. |

Viking07: His opinion has since been brilliantly countered and sent to the dustbin.
https://mobile.twitter.com/AyoBankole/status/1194587749560532993 If all you do is earn salary, pay rent and school fees, spend the rest and wait for the next pay slip then his advice is not for you. He even showed how someone investing in treasury bills can pay rent and keep some change. If a landlord does not want me in his house I move to another one, period! So long as I have money to pay my rent. |

This one has already been obeyed. I can verify that the silly airtel has stopped the annoying voicemail service. |

The visuals we got today was no different from 1980 images.. Absolute disgrace to a nation. NTA should be disbanded. It Obvious the money allocated for that station is been emblezzled or the right people are not employed for the job. I will not be surprise if the latter is the reason. One day, nepotism will take us to a point where there will be lots of directors and permanent secretaries in nigeria that dont know how to read or write. Quote me anywhere! |
