samsard: Look at this Wawa. The federal government can't provide electricity with billions of dollars when it's their primary duty, this illiterate is expecting it with constituency allowance. Your education is worthless. You are a demented fool! What do they use the over #150,000,000 they get annually as constituency allowance for? Federal government have failed, its condemnable so what! We are talking about Dino, a senator not federal government. When they say Dino has failed you say what of Buhari, when they say Buhari has failed, your foolish colleagues on the other side will say what of Dino? And that is why the politicians will continue to swindle you while you shamelessly defend them. Jakai Kafwai! |

Hallenjay: He's arrogant too...the whole base is der office u should abide by all rules n regulation.from the story I can deduce the gentleman is stubborn and staying in an officers quarters gives him right to do any how or the commandant will always be at his back...he shd know that officers canteen are mainly for them and if u r allowed to enter and even buy food der u shd be ready to greet and be humble as u deem fit as possible. Nobody will sanction the offr for u ..the highest they will get is severe reprimand. Not true, corps members are allowed into the officer's mess if they serve there. An officer cannot hit even a soldier let alone an officer. He cannot hit a corps member because they did not greet him either. He should ask for redeployment to another PPA, but if serving in air force barracks is his life ambition then he can continue. |

Leave that place now, you don't have to serve in the barracks. And how can a barracks be that disorderly? I am sorry but the story sounds somehow to me because I served in the barracks too. The junior officers who are stubborn are cautioned to stay away from us and the senior officers are big boys that don't have time to waste beefing coppers, they are generally nice and friendly. Sorry though. This is a complaint you should lay to your nysc office, soldiers are normally told by nysc to not discipline any erring corper but report them to nysc. |

Kelvin30286063: I had an almost similar experience last weekend but a woman was not involved. I decided not to watch the Premier league at home so I went to a football centre in town. I was having a little misunderstanding with my wife and we always watch football together so since she said she's not watching that Saturday, I decided to go out. I parked my car at a safe distance cuz that was the only parking space. At half time, I came out to get some air and leaned on a bike. The bike looks relatively new so I was checking it out, suddenly the owner came out and said what are you doing with my Okada, you want to steal my Okada, Ole Ole! Before I can say Jack, everybody inside the football centre have gathered around me, the slap was coming from everywhere. Thank God for the owner of the football centre, he saw me coming in and said they should wait. How will I park my car and steal a bike! It can't even fit in my boot! Then they started apologising and saying sorry, I just jejely got into my car and drove home. I apologized to my wife and changed channel to Supersport. When I told my wife later, she got really mad and said she should take action against the football centre but how now? I took that picture after the matter was settle, threatening that I'll take legal action against them but what can I do really? That is my car, and that was the bike. Thank God you survived. |

Richy4: So who is to be blamed for all these? The blood tasty citizens who can't hesitate to take the laws into their own hands by killing someone first before asking questions?
Or are we to blame the woman who figured it out long time ago that the moment she screams, there are lots of insensitive people out there who could not apply wisdom before doing things..
If I'm correct, the woman was sitting @the passengers seat right, So how did the man become a car snatcher if he was dragging the woman out of the passenger's seat?.. because if u were gonna be snatching a car, the driver's seat is what u will be aiming right?..
I think People should be cautious this days while responding to any information anywhere even online.. false alarm comes in different ways.. unfortunately the false alarm that has been skyrocketing more than the rest around the world is rape cases.. Every one should just be cautious and apply wisdom. I don't think the mob cared. People don't think rationally when such alarms are raised, the only thing that comes to their mind is kill! |

Politics › Re: Sanusi: Parents Of Kano Abducted Children Deserve To Be Jailed For Negligence by TEYA: 12:25am On Nov 11, 2019 |
wirinet: If is abroad (USA or UK), it's the parents fault. The police would blame the parent because it's the parents responsibility to ensure the child gets to and from school safely. Social services might even take away the child from the parent due to negligence. When Madeleine Beth McCann was abducted in Portugal 12 years ago, the parents were arrested by the British Police. Although they were later released due to public outcry, the girl was never found. In US and UK, parents don't just get blamed in every case of disappearance, kidnappings do happen always and it does not have to be due to carelessness. Madeline's parents were blamed, but that is because the appeared negligent, they left their children in bed while they were busy hanging out with friends in a strange country. Emir Sanusi was thoughtless, period! I admire his bluntness on issues affecting the north but to be honest he goofed on this one. Those kidnappers got so bold and were actually getting into houses and snatching children. I listened on a radio programme in Abuja the story of how a woman was beaten almost to death by some of them that broke into her home because she resisted their attempt to snatch her baby. It was the intervention of neighbours that save her and her child. What move did Sanusi make to curtail the menace in his emirate? It was that radio station that made a loud noise about the Kano kidnappings that resulted in the action the state police command took. Sanusi and Ganduje did nothing! |

I reside in Abuja. Yesterday, on my way to town, I alighted at a junction at Dutse (tipper garage junction), a crowd gathered there. I went closer an heard a shocking story. A man stood by his car, drenched in perspiration with his shirt all torn. A woman stood by, crying. What happens was the man and his wife left home after a quarrel and were going to town in his car. Apparently, the quarrel escalated while they were on transit. The man pulled over and told the wife to get out. She did not. He tried to get her out of his car when all of a sudden the woman started screaming car snatcher! car snatcher! There were several okada men there and within the twinkle of an eye, a mob descended on him, beating him to a pulp, tearing his clothes up while the woman stood by. While the beating went on, the man mentioned the woman was his wife and the mob paused. They listened to the man and discovered the woman just raised a false alarm. Everyone was angry with her. She stood there crying like mumu. The husband said he did not even hit her, he kept on asking her "did I touch you"? The silly woman just stood there crying, blabbing incoherent words. The guy was very lucky, because a couple of weeks ago, some alledged one chance guys, three of them were beaten up and set ablaze not far from that junction, i still wonder what that woman was trying to achieve. It is sad how some women take advantage of the soft heart people have towards them. If nothing changes, someday, people will think twice before believing any claim of abuse coming from a woman. |

Acidosis: It is NOT going to pay off on the short or long run. Not having a job and not being able to pay rent is more than enough reason to avoid spending all resources on a building project. Many of our aged parents made this mistake. A lot of them died poor with nothing. Only the children benefited at the end of the day by selling off the property.
Landlord harassment is not enough to provoke one into building a personal apartment. That anger should make you work harder to pay your rent, not spend what you don't have raising a shanty house.
The desire to raise one's income should supercede the desire to "lower" expenditure/expenses.
How can you even lower expenses by spending so much on a personal house?
Do a quick calculation;
Annual rent = N100k
Personal apartment/land = N2-3m (in a small town)
What's the sense in the above? 3m is rent for 30 years (assumed 0 inflation). Add 30 to your current age and tell me what you have.
That 3m in mutual funds, or a risk-free investment like TBills will yield at least 350k annually with 0 work. From that, you pay your rent easily, and increase your networth in a sporadic manner over a very short timeframe. Acidosis, this is something most of our people don't understand, this calculation you just did is like advanced calculus to them I wonder why. A personal house is not an asset, it is a liability. - Robert Kiyosaki |

My mother told me the story of a certain man in her village, he was stupendously rich, he only catered or his wife and children alone, he belonged to the "I don't owe anyone anything crew". One day he died, his corpse was brought to the village. Now it is the custom, that when a person dies, the bereaved family only mourns, nothing more, for a whole week. Other villagers will bring food and come to commiserate with them. On the day of the burial, the youth in he village will come together to dig the grave. This rich dude's corpse came but the youth in the village said they are not digging any grave o! That his ajebutter kids should dig the grave themselves. Like play like play o, dem no gree dig. Later they said if at all they are to dig, they must be paid and they will bargain well o! It was embarrassing. The elders had to come together to beg the youth o. After so much pleading, they dug the grave, the man was buried and the elders gave a stern warning, anyone that lives that kind of life is on his own when he dies, they will never beg the youths again. So to all those that are saying you don't owe anyone anything, be guided. Your life isn't yours alone. |

CanadianNaija: He didn't deprive himself of anything? Do you hear yourself? See your mindset, are you in his pocket?
Your brother can not get you into Shell, whether he works there or not. I know for a fact how rigorous their recruitment process is, especially if it is for a fulltime position. There're companies that hire contract staff for Shell and others, that one is another matter.
If finished within the age range for their engineering graduate trainee program why didn't you apply? Was your grade good? Did you pass the aptitude test, and their accessment day? Their fulltime recruitment is centralized and done from out of country.
It's not a one man's business, you hear that he's helping people what kind of help? Do you know? Have you bothered to ask him?
You seem misinformed, you were all given the same opportunity i don't know why you seem so resentful and envious of him. Shell is one company at least that you can get into on merit, people without connection do it everyday, it's not your brother's fault that you're an engineer that works in a hospital. How did you come about the bolded? Who told you he never applied, who told you his brother can't help him secure his a job even if though he is in management cadre? So a top management person in shell cannot even secure a contract job in shell? Really? Is that how seriously they take merit in Nigeria? Toh let me tell you, in this country you live in, many people will suffer for most of their lives if not all of it because they don't have a hand to raise him. I remember my foolish uncle, a top government functionary that spent many years in service without securing a job for his own blood children. According to him, nobody helped him to get there so he owes nobody anything Based on the stuff I read here, I believe the children should also tell themselves nobody owes them anything. Nonsense, the people that hold onto that silly school of thought are swimming in an ocean of ignorance, that you suffered to make it does not mean everyone around you has to go through same. I passed my uncle the other day, he was standing by the roadside stranded, I could not believe my eyes. I drove past him with my eyes the other way. The guy has nothing! |
