ronkebp:Thank you Ronkebp & Davidylan. She is only in the house cos i'm there! I don't understand this at all. I'm beginning to feel that my hubby does not understand the meaning of the word "propriety". How can he not understand that somethings are just not done. I'm very sure that nobody expects us to keep her on since i'm moving. Infact, my mum actually called me to broach the topic of moving her elsewhere. i'm just utterly bewildered with this response. |
Hey peeps, My younger sister currently lives with my husband and I. I've recently been transferred to another city and tried to make arrangements with my husband for her to move elsewhere as i believe it's not socially acceptable to have her in the house if i'm not around. To my utter amazement, my husband sees nothing wrong with her remaining and feels i'll be passing a message to people that he's not trustworthy, if she moves out. infact, we had an argument which saw him accusing me of not trusting him. Am i in the wrong here? Would love to hear your opinions on this. |
Seriously, this is like the best write-up i've read in a long while. Read parts 1-14 non-stop and I can't wait for the next part. Someone's got some real talent here. Highly recommend! |
Dear Nairalanders, Would like to request information from anyone in the know about the recent developments with Air Nigeria. Are they really flying unserviceable aircraft as the media has recently reported? I'm really concerned as I am booked on an Air Nigeria flight and would like to know what the deal is. Never trusted the Nigerian Aviation industry and try to limit my travel as much as possible. Please anyone with genuine info should reply. Thanks peeps |
blank:That's a defeatist attitude and not one that will help achieve what we desire on this thread. Travellers being subjected to body searches and the likes is not peculiar to Nigeria alone. Infact, I think the US outdo us on that score. The truth is that these same officials are the ones with the responsibility of fishing out travellers guilty of drug possession etc. They are actually empowered to carry out a body search if they suspect foul play but of course, we all know that this power is abused for personal gain, which is the issue here. So my suggestion on the way forward here is, let's play our own part right. You know you have no illegal substance on you. Do not offer or give in to requests for "egunje". Be courteous, this is no time to show them how much you despise them. Believe me, you will be allowed to proceed on your journey after the routine scans/checks on your luggage. If they do however decide to carry out a further search on you, unless you are guilty of "something", they will find nothing on you and you will still be allowed to proceed on your journey. For chrissakes, are we babies who do not know our right from our left? A customs officer threatens to detain you, after he has found nothing illegal on you and for that reason you give him a hundred dollars ![]() ![]() |
Yes, customs officials at MMA are corrupt and infuriating. They delay you and unashamedly ask for bribes. The right thing to do, do not give in. Stand your ground and refuse. This will work if you are clean and stick to the rules of International travel. But you see, a lot of Nigerians give in to these officials because they are carrying stuff they shouldn't be travelling with on an international trip. These officials will let you board with these items if you "grease a palm or two" and trust nigerians, we are notorious rule breakers. We want to travel with that gallon of Palm oil and so would rather give them a bribe and travel with our contraband. So i think we as a people also encourage their thievry and until we learn to adhere to simple rules will continue to face this problem with customs. Think about it, there is really no reason to part with a bribe or a "facilitation fee" if you have nothingg to hide. Simply smile, say "no thank, you" and keep moving. I have never had to part with a dime at the airport. I have been asked by those same officials, have politely refused and have moved on with no issues. Lets change our attitude as a nation and it will cascade to all facets of life. |
Good question Best selling hair on the market now are brazillian, peruvian and of course, the cashmere of human hair, Malaysian hair. Just got myself virgin remy Malaysian hair from the US after tons of research, and one thing i learnt is that virgin malaysian and most other hair come in a blend of black to darkest brown, No funky colors like in the pics on the post above. You will also experience very minimal shedding with virgin hair. If you run a comb or your fingers through the weft, there should be no shedding. |
Hey, Are you a US 4 or UK 8 dress size? Do you live or work on the island? (Ikoyi, VI, Lekki) Have you spent your time wandering from shop to shop on the island looking for that fabulous dress to wow at church, a bridal shower, a dinner date or birthday party? Can you afford to pay NGN20,000 for a dress, and not just any dress, one of my specially hand-picked dresses from Macy's in the US? I've got a few fabulous dresses for sale and the only reason i'm here is that i'm sold out on my regular sizes and have only US 4 dresses left over. Have to say there was a mad scramble for the lovely Maggy London, Adrianna Pappell and Calvin Klein dresses. Send me an e-mail at thandiepixie@yahoo.com and we'll set up a viewing over the weekend say at Shoprite or Ikota shopping complex or any where on the island convenient for us two. Believe me, if you answered yes to all my questions above, you'll leave very happy. Please do not mail me if all your answers to the above are not a YES! |
really don't intend to burst the bubble here, but i used Tara's mascara and it was crap, pardon my french. Do not even bother. On the upside, i heard her eye-shadow's are good. |
the smiley wink was an accident. i am really serious about needing your input on this. |
guys imagine this scenario: you meet this girl whom you think is "the one". you are a somewhat conservative guy who believes a girl should abstain from sex till marriage or basically you would rather have a girl who hasn't had sex till she meets you so you can be the one to introduce her to the delights of sex. sadly, girl in question has had sex. you are open minded enough to accept that but you would want to know the circumstances in which it happened. what would you rather hear: would you rather, a) she had a great love in her life that didn't work out or b) she just decided to do it cos she was curious about sex, no serious emotional attachment to the guy in question now i know what y'all are thinking- you're thinking i'm trying to pick your brains to cook up a big fat lie to tell my boyfriend, or tailor my story so that he'll accept me the way i am, actually, i am. so help pls cos i don't want to lose him. ![]() |
this is such a pathetic scam. you can't even spell senior and you wanna employ who ![]() LOSER hisses |

I hope they are not recruiting for government cos from the add they put in the papers, it seems they'r recruiting across all disciplines. Abuja based nairalanders we r counting on you to confirm the authenticity of this company and who they may be recruiting for. Cheers all |
Pls has anyone ever heard of Consulting capable? Who are they and who are they recruiting for? I'm a Pharmacist and got an invitation letter for a test in Abuja. I think they are recruiting across all disciplines cos when their advert came out sometime in August, they mentioned virtually all courses, including non degree holders who have about 10 years experience. Just hope they are not recruiting for government ![]() Any one with inside info pls let us know. Don't want to waste plane fare to Abuja in Dec. |
neelsel:Thanks Neelsel, tried it out and it really works. Got that smooth face feel you get after using a cosmetic scrub. A lot more affordable too. I'l definitely be using. |
Mascara - Bourjois or Maybelline in blackest black Powder - Only Mac studio fix. great finish Lipgloss - Dior addict Moisturiser - I use aveeno, planning to invest in a good nite cream. Cleanser - Ponds foaming facial cleanser. I really recommend this product cos i've tried quite a no. of washes ie. l'oreal instant moussing gel wash which was a scam in a bottle, olay wash was nothing to talk about etc. Toner - Neutrogena alcohol free toner. Timeless Facial Scrub - use any good one. would like someone to recommend a good scrub. |

?, better make arrangements for her else where. She is only staying with you guys because you are in that house. And if you are relocating let her relocate, unless your hubby is looking for cook or companion.
