engine, the Elantra has better hp and torque not necessarily better in driving experience to the Corolla as both weren't built for spirited driving

I will pick the Hyundai here, parts are original and strong too, the Corolla is also solid but if you don't shine your eye well, you will buy more Chinese cloned parts than the real deal.

Technician know how for both is a draw, you will find Hyundai or Toyota part even in villages or less developed community and they are also interchangeable for Hyundai and kia in several models.

Luxury, the Corolla Altis is a high end vehicle and some Corolla 03 to 07 come equipped with 6CD changer. Some Altis have DVD with backup camera and leather seat.

Verdict
the Corolla is a highly reliable vehicle tested and trusted but a robbers magnet and vandals cash cow so always secure it and park in a compound for safety and off course insure it.

The Elantra is good solid and reliable too especially the US Variant with good safety features, doesn't have a good resale value though and doesn't age well compared to other competition.
