People go just dey spread untruth all in the name of content. Are income taxes always deducted directly from bank account balances, for instance? Will it now be assumed all money from third-parties without a description is income? January is just tomorrow. God keeping us alive, we'll see what will happen. So patience. |
yoddy:Read again. It seems the "major shift" part was confusing you. I believe what the writer was trying to convey there was that the sender will also now pay the same stamp duty that receiver paid previously. Unsure? Read the introduction of the article; it stated that existing charges remained unchanged. The receiver stamp duty was an existing charge. |
On top their tax charade purportedly starting in January! So persons like me will now be paying N100 per transaction since I rarely receive money from anybody locally. I mainly transfer money between my accounts. ![]() These tax masters really mean Nigerians. God keeping us, I await the drama that may unfold in January. The most annoying part is that they can't justify all these taxes and levies! |
Maybe "e too cost." ![]() I often hear women who go to parties frequently talk about the costs of those "aso ebi" clothes. More often than not, the prices were outrageous. If I married someone like those, I will probably go broke. ![]() People like us are not even current about the cost of sewing clothes, let alone buying aso ebi. ![]() |
Kobojunkie:Wow, this is a different part of you I was no longer used to! I thought you used to make helpful posts in the past until I started to see you as a troublemaker in recent years. But I have to admit you surprised me with this helpful, personal post.Oya, come collect kiss. ![]() |
Gurus in the house (reloadedisraelp, giftedhand47, xinoman and others), please I need your help with an Oppo F5 that keeps bootlooping into recovery mode. It's one of these "foreign used" phones, but it came with malware that even got my WhatsApp hacked. The phone was intended for WhatsApp use. So, I tried to update the firmware to the latest version via the recovery mode. The update was successful and I then clicked on "Reboot." But instead of booting normally, the phone started bootlooping to recovery mode without success. Once it gets to the Oppo "powered by Android" screen, it will go off and restart again endlessly. I have to press all buttons together to power it off. This bootloop doesn't even allow me to connect the phone to my laptop while it's booting. What can be done about this issue, please? |
At least, you have a job! Depression and suicidal thoughts for? Snap out of those! Many of us care too much about the opinions of people who don't care about us. These people don't or won't feed you!I hope you'd start to care less about the opinions of others as you grow older - like some of us. Examine yourself based solely on God's opinions and continue to make effort to get better. Omo, na only you really care about you o. |
I came across this post while searching with information I just from read via an on-screen message notification. I didn't see any mention of subscription reduction or replacement of those channels that are to be lost. Or do they intend providing fewer channels for the same price? We shall see! |
So, I saw this information on the Zenith Bank/Caleb University Scholarship in my inbox this morning (received two days ago). I thought to share in case anyone here might find the information useful. Good luck. NOTE: Application deadline is today! Get full details from the attached screenshot.

SpencerForbes:You're just all over the place. Could you point to the insinuation? My reference to Eve had to do with the account in Genesis since I profess the Christian faith. You may go read Genesis 2:18-25 and see if "go and multiply" was the immediate reason for her. I don't know why; you're beginning to come across like a particular character on here that I have started to ignore. Just interested in countering everything (arguing from personal biases) without assessing matters critically. |
SpencerForbes:Who else mentioned immaturity? You did and I guess that says it all. Again, I say stop generalising! Yes, I am a grandpa but I am not married. And you have lived more than three decades, right? Oh, well...Was procreation the immediate reason why God fashioned Eve for Adam? As for being a lady, you see say you're a confused person for having "m" next to your username. Or was it the "undiluted ethanol" you referred to that you've been on? |
SpencerForbes:Speak for yourself. You are not every man. |
PapaNnamdi:Good idea, I think. It's the outdoors effect. It's not just cycling - walking long distances also helps. |
grandiose4ever:This your question ehn... 😂 It's a valid one that I have always wondered when women say things like "my money is my money, your money is our money" and some oversabi men will be like, "I don't need a woman's money. I can do it all alone." Kontinu ![]() I'm not married, so I don't know what it's like for the married men. Na that your question just touch me. ![]() |
Samantha125:If you want to go down this route, who were/are then the REAL frauds (or fraudsters, if you prefer) in this case? It's this fraud that we wish to discourage. Imagine if the woman got pregnant for the gym guy... |
Sonnobax15:You never die na. Start already! ![]() |
Jennyclay:Girl wetin? What's a girlfriend doing in this talk? ![]() |
Luckysbab:If the person's indeed a man, he's either just being ironic or merely chasing clout. |
No, say more. Instead of blaming your corrupt politicians and self, you're busy pointing to the other man. A typical Nigerian! Always quick to blame the other person. So it was these people that asked you guys to be unruly, law-breaking, and corrupt? They must also be the ones that made you nepotistic or tribalistic with little or no room for reason. Continue. For instance, go to a typical place where people are meant to be orderly (such as maintain a queue) or go to unmanned traffic lights and see how these same people behave. Hypocrites! |
In all of this, I am just wondering how you even got to the point where you think you should get married. I honestly don't get it, based on your experience so far in marriage. I belong to the school of thought that you could see some signs of things that would happen later in life...if only we care to pay enough attention. Being a quiet person really has nothing to do with this. I am a "quiet" person and I know I am not like him, as painted in your narrative. Since you're married now, the deed has been done. Find a way to have a heart-to-heart talk with him, expressing your concerns (diplomatically) and your wish for things to get better. Effective communication, coupled with prayer, is the only solution I can think of right now. But this one you talk say he's not a friend... ![]() |
Texcyndy:Abi centuries? |
koladata:Were you in his head? 😂 |
ebubeson:Someone still has to do that "work." Are you ready to take it up? This your post reminds me of incidents in the past when people in the congregation would murmur when those in the choir got a tune wrong. Yet, these were mostly benchwarmers o. We should learn to not criticise people doing what we cannot or won't do. In the end, most of us are still battling with one sin or another. It's a process. We should just not be content with sinful living. |
Wahala be like wetin again? ![]() |
Some people can be foolish sha. The man was asking for advice on how to improve his life legally and some seemed more interested in taking a jibe at him. What do you think you're doing to those in the same shoes as the man? Small time dem go dey blame those who do evil things to make money. It can be sensible sometimes to just not comment about some things. A foolish man who is quiet can be (mis)taken for a wise man, so says the Holy Book (I think). ![]() |
Well...even if the first two posts were by the same person, the lesson still remains valid. ![]() Na my conscience I dey work with. Having someone to help you think things over self good, as described in the first post. |
whippersnapper:On top this matter? 😂 |
You still have seven more years or what? If you don't have strong proofs of the money you gave out, you're playing. ![]() It's good to be kind but also apply wisdom. I deduce you rented your room in a "family house." My previous residence was one and my "landlady" collected similar advances from me a few times due to some needs. But I made sure I informed her brother who issued me a receipt each time. Funny thing was she thought I owed her rent eventually when I was moving, most likely because of those advances she collected. But I had my proofs, even though she still didn't feel convinced. I never met her once, by the way. |
Elliotwaveforec:On this part, most (if not all) Nigerian standard commercial banks won't pay you interest after making more than 3-4 withdrawals in a month. So, take note of that. This is one of the reasons I have multiple bank accounts; not because I have lots of money. At least, the interests will cover other charges and some. |
Kindered:Don't be reactive. Think of the point that he was trying to make, also. Does a stronger currency always mean a stronger economy - South Korea vs. Ghana in this case? |
So sad. Accept my condolences, man. May God comfort you and the rest of the family and grant eternal rest to his soul. |
LordBiden:Thank you so much for this! It pretty much captured what I was thinking. I don't get it why people do things that are beyond their means. Others do things just to look good before people, to their own harm. Omo, this life na sense o - at least, partly so. If you no get sense, you go suffer! It seems some people see children as a sort of "insurance" for the future. But life has shown us that it doesn't always work that way. Some people just seem to refuse to get it, though. Only God can secure the future!Life can become easier if we learn to do things in moderation. |
