It has been a while. Congrats to all those that have received their TRVs and to all those expecting theirs, you have received it IJN. Just thank God for it.

Anyway, I will like to know if there is anybody resuming in Carleton University this fall and if anyone is travelling next month?

Good morning smiley

Please I need advice - I'm trying to apply for visitors visa for someone and the travel itinerary is needed!

Please I need advice as "e no make sense to buy ticket when person never see visa"

Advice needed o!!!
You don't need to buy the ticket. Just make a flight reservation through any agent. Should cost you like about 10k per person depending on how well you can haggle. I will also advise you to book a hotel in Canada in the region you wanna visit, you can do that through booking.com. I did that for my parents and they were issued their visas timeously. Goodluck with yours!

Had a cousin there..Elect. What year did you finish and what course. He finished 2013
Padike u neva still tell me the skool you grad frm. Pertaining to accommodation, my friend in Carleton stays off-campus and she said that's a better option not necessarily because of the distance from Carleton and U of O but cos its a more mature setting and its way cheaper. I saw sm 4 as low as 400CAD per month. However, the online on-campus accommodation portal is requesting a payment of 100CAD for me to progress with the application.

Also, I heard from someone and I read it from the CIC website that we require a letter of introduction from the Visa office to get issued a Study Permit in the Border.

Check out the link:

Lol..it's better you don't submit the TOEfl, it's not even compulsory for most schools if you are a Nigerian student
Guy you sha .. all cos of one grammatical error .. u told him not to "wrote" TOEFL .. you nor try o .. anyway we both know that Carleton asked for TOEFL. The othey way to avoid writing TOEFL is to get a Letter of Proficiency in English Language from your University, stating that the Language of instruction of your University in Nigeria is English Language ..

Even most UK Universities won't admit you if you don't have that Letter from your Registrar or TOEFL or IELTS and they know you are from Nigeria which is a Commonwealth Country. So its safe for him to get one of these three I mentioned.

Cheers

You are entitle to a personal copy of your University transcript as a right not a privilege.
Normally, your first transcript request should make you have a personal copy, if not request and pay for it.
This personal copy will NOT be address to any Institution and so you are suppose to scan it for online processing.
If you prefer paper route, you can print the scanned copy or even photocopy your personal copy, notorize it.
The most senior office at the exams and record of your school can also certify a photocopy of the original.Go with which
ever option is fastest and easier for you. They are all legally acceptable options. You need to include your Bsc Certificate scan
or notorised photocopy depending on the route if the transcript is proving too difficult. Early submission of a complete application is advised.
Cheers
When you are talking about transcripts, you should ascertain what kind they want. It might be an unofficial or an official transcript. Most Universities like the one I finished from won't give you an official transcript because an official transcript must be addressed and created for another organization or an institution that requests for it on your behalf. The one you are talking about that is not addressed to anybody is an unofficial transcript. That will be easy to acquire from the University.

Yea you are right, I'm number one on the waiting list for on-campus Accomodation sef, but I'm declining it. Off campus it is.
Have you called Housing services to find out if Off-Campus is a good idea?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by ThatWarriBoy: 9:15am On Jan 28, 2015
Padike:
Yea
Ok .. that is great. I have applied for accommodation but no offer yet. I think off campus accommodation would be better for us because we are like Students of 2 Universities, that is why its called the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Electrical and Computer Eng. I m sure you have figured that out. I read something on their website that an offer would be made around August and our move-in dates will be given to us via email.

I hope you've collected your visa now
Naah. I have not, I got the passport request on the 26th. I did passport transmission since I don't stay in Lagos, It was delivered to VFS yesterday. So they will start processing it in VFS today, they will first of all check my payment then send it to Accra then back to me. Should get in on Friday by God's grace, I did for my parents and theirs took like 4 working days or so.

You said you will be travelling in July, are you sure they will allow you cross the border?

Please can someone tell me how many days did Canada embassy use to treat document for visiting visa in their embassy after the day if biometric thanks
I applied for my parents on the 20th of December, 2014. They did their Bio on the 22nd and they got their passports with their visas on the 27th of January, 2015, just yesterday. So it took roughly 5weeks for them. If you are lucky, it can take 2 weeks. I know someone personally who's TRV came out in 2weeks, visiting visa not study permit o!

Praise be to God Almighty. Just got my medical request, did upfront medicals though. Don't even know why they are sending a request. Has anyone experienced this before?. I applied on the 11th of December and did my bio on the 15th of December.

Yea it's still there, are you applying for refund or they should just hold it till next resumption? And when did you apply for the deferment since you got the letter already by 14th coz I applied on Thursday and Im yet to get the letter
I applied on the 12th and I got the new admission letter on the 14th. Which course did they admit you for in the department, that might be a factor. You should also call the department.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by ThatWarriBoy: 1:13pm On Jan 18, 2015

Yea I deregistered..Same department too..how about your paid tuition?
Check your student accounts, it is still there. Mine is though. Which course did they admit you for?

Some visa and master cards are actually configured to work as credit cards. I hav a GTB visa dollar card which is set to work as a credit card but needs to be preloaded. Its usually accepted on all websites. ..at least in my experience so far.
If it needs to be preloaded its not a credit card. Only debit cards need to be preloaded, either they are tired to your account or they have a seperate account on their own.

Its only logical to believe so..becos it is easier, faster, and can be easily assessed unlike the other route...How can u explain someone who applied one month later than u did and getting his TRV while you are still on waiting list? From the records here with peeps using online, their waiting time doesn't change that much(roughly thesame). But with paper route, some 2 months, some 4 months etc
Ok .. That is true tho
