Andres Iniesta appears to have confirmed he will be joining Vissel Kobe by announcing he is en route to Japan.

The Barcelona icon revealed at the end of last month he would be leaving Camp Nou after 16 seasons at the club, during which he won nine La Liga titles and the Champions League four times.

After reports of a switch to Chongqing Lifan were denied by the Chinese Super League side, Kobe emerged as the surprise frontrunners for Iniesta’s signature.

And on Wednesday the Spain midfielder posted a photo of himself on board an aircraft with Japanese billionaire Hiroshi Mikitani, the owner of the J-League club.

“Heading to my new home, with my friend,” Iniesta wrote, mentioning Mikitani in his tweet.

Mikitani is the chief executive of Rakuten, the electronics company that is the shirt sponsor of Barca.

The businessman also posted a photo to social media, posing with Iniesta outside the aircraft with the message: “Going back to Tokyo with my friend.”

Two days ago, Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu via his twitter handle, asked Nigerians to tell Reno Omokri and his fellow PDP members that Nigerians want their money back and that they should forget about coming back to power.

Reno in a statement released on his Facebook page, reminded Garba Shehu that he was a member of the PDP before joining APC and that he has no right to talk ill of any PDP member. Read his statement below

Quite unfortunately for President Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, my attention has been drawn to some hypocritical statements he made to the media.

After attacking former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Garba Shehu has taken to attacking me directly saying:

“Tell Reno and his friends that Nigerians want their moneys back and they should forget about presiding over the affairs of this country.”

It is so sad that Mr. Shehu would choose to go the route of hypocrisy. What do I mean? Let me explain.

Garba Shehu was Special Assistant on media for years during the Peoples Democratic Party administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo. Garba did not resign from that government.

In fact, Garba Shehu was affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party for 12 good years. He has been in the PDP for more years than he has been APC. He was in the PDP longer than I, Reno Omokri, have been associated with the PDP.

Garba Shehu cannot deny this because his office was opposite mine at the Presidential villa between 2003 when I returned from the United Kingdom and 2005 when I went to the US.

Garba shehu used to craft very strong anti Buhari press releases for the PDP during his 12 year sojourn as a PDP member, which included years spent as SA media under Obasanjo. Now he crafts press releases for the same man he once attacked against the same people he once praised! Garba is the epitome of AGIP-Any Government in Power. I am the epitome of loyalty. There is no basis to compare myself with him. I follow my conscience. Garba follows his stomach.

I challenge Garba Shehu to come out and tell Nigerians whether I am lying? Or does he want me to provide proof. Garba Shehu would do well to remember that I am a very meticulous record keeper and fact provider!

Garba Shehu attacking the PDP is like a child attacking his own mother. The PDP brought Garba to limelight. The PDP is Garba’s mother and father.

When Garba Shehu indicts PDP for 16 years of alleged ‘misrule’ he should accept responsibility for 12 of those years.

Instead of being a hypocrite, Garba should tell Nigerians where:

* Where their $25 billion NNPC money is
* Who reinstated and double promoted Maina
* When Babachir will be prosecuted
* Why the ES of the NHIS who was indicted for misappropriating ? 10 billion was restored.
* Who owns the Ikoyi billions.

Nigerians would recall that in a statement issued by Garba Shehu during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s birthday last year, President Buhari called him President Obasanjo a statesman ‘with commitment to good governance’. Today, the President is hinting at probing Obasanjo’s alleged $16 billion power project contracts just because Obasanjo is against his reelection. War on C?o?r?r?u?p?t?i?o?n? opposition!

This is the type of hypocrisy that President Buhari and Garba Shehu are known for which is why Nigerians are determined to Change the Change in 2019.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday criticised previous Nigerian administrations for “lack of imagination.”

He said they failed to provide needed infrastructure despite huge revenues, even as he singled out Olusegun Obasanjo, who was president from 1999 to 2007, for spending over $15 billion dollars on power without achieving much.

Mr Obasanjo, a former supporter of Mr Buhari, is one of the fiercest critics of the incumbent president. He had in January written a damning letter to Mr Buhari asking him not to seek re-election in 2019 due to poor performance.

Speaking when he received a delegation of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) at the Presidential Villa Tuesday, the president said he often wondered why people in authority chose to send their children outside the country to acquire education while they fail to develop the country.

“I wonder want kind of Nigerians they want their children to come and work with. I think there is a lot of lack of imagination.

“Because if you’re fighting for the country then you shouldn’t be misappropriating or misapplying the fund the way people do,” he said.

Mr Buhari thanked members of the support group for standing by him without being prompted to do so.

“Nobody is paying you for what you have been doing. It is because from the bottom of your hearts; you exposed yourselves by identifying with me through opposition to success and after the success.

“I don’t know how many of you people will say what the hell you got out of it. You can only get satisfaction through voluntary and understandable way of believing in issues you do.

“You are only expecting your return from God and you are looking for the future of the country-your children and grand children.”

The president told the gathering that he recently made some statements. He said because some of them may have missed it due to absence of electricity, he had to repeat it.

He said he threw a challenge to anyone to check either in Europe, Asia or America that between 1999 and 2014, Nigeria was producing 2.1 million barrels per day of crude at an average cost of $100 per barrel.

He said the price even went up to $143.

“So Nigeria was earning 2.1 million times 100 times 16 years, 7 days a week.

“When we came, it collapsed to $37-38 and it was oscillating between $40 and $54 sometimes.

“ I went to the Governor of Central Bank, thank goodness I did not sack him, he is still there. I went with my cap in my hand and say oya. He said there was no savings, only debt,” Mr Buhari said.

During the 16 years the president referenced, Nigeria was governed by three presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007), Umaru Yar’Adua (2007 to 2010), and Goodluck Jonathan (2010 to 2015).

The president told the group of supporters that when he assumed office, most of the roads in Nigeria were in terrible condition, adding “some of them were not repaired since PTF days.”

PTF is the Petroleum Trust Fund set up by late Head of State, Sani Abacha, in 1994 to utilise the proceeds of a petrol price increase. Mr Buhari headed the PTF, which was reputed to have constructed many road projects across the country while the military dictator stole Nigeria blind.

Mr Buhari, who has been criticised for looking the other way while Mr Abacha stole billions of dollars from public treasury while in office, again justified his working with the dictator.

“No matter what opinion you have about Abacha,” he said, “I agreed to work with him and the roads we did from PTF exist from here to Port Harcourt, to Onitsha, to Benin and so on.”

He said the agency also intervened in education and medical care among others.

Mr Buhari also said the railway in Nigeria “was killed and one of the former Heads of State between that time was bragging that he spent more than 15 billion American dollars, not Naira, on power. Where is the power? Where is the power? And now we have to pay the debts,” he said, in apparent reference to Mr Obasanjo.

Lambasts National Assembly

Mr Buhari also came down hard on the members of the National Assembly.

He also said unlike the previous administrations, he has made the highest provision for capital projects; N1.3 trillion; in the budget he took to the Assembly.

“Let anybody come and confront me publicly in the National Assembly. What have they been doing?

“Some of them have been there for 10 years. What have they been doing?,” he asked.

Mr Buhari said just like he mentioned 30 years ago, everyone should know that citizens have no other country than Nigeria, adding “we should remain here and salvage it together no matter what you have outside.”

He said his administration had uncovered some houses in Abuja, U.S. and Europe belonging to “some people”.

He, however, said some of them “swore to God” that the houses do not belong to them.

Mr Buhari said “but their accounts, through the banks, through their companies, show that it is their own. But they say it’s not their own.

“This is a terrible thing and the people are saying what are we doing? Why can’t you lock them up? And again I went on by telling them what I said when I was in uniform, younger and rather ruthless. I got from the President downward and I locked them up in Kirikiri and I said you’re guilty except you prove yourselves innocent.

“I myself was locked up and those who misappropriated public funds were given back what they had taken away. Who did anything about it?

“Then I decided to come and put agbada. I tried one, two, three four times and God agreed,” he said.

Mr Buhari said when he ran for office for the third time and went to the court afterwards, his lawyer, Mike Ahamba, who, he described as “a Roman Catholic and Ibo man” requested the panel of judges at the Supreme Court to order for register of voters in some constituencies across the country be provided for vetting and confirmation of the election outcome.

He said the Supreme Court rejected the request and asked him to approach the electoral commission instead.

The president said that at the end, the court ruled against his petition except one judge, who, he, again described as” another Ibo man, a Roman Catholic” who wrote a minority judgment in his favour.

“He was among the panel of the judges, he wrote a minority report in my favour. So, why this question of religion and ethnicity and so on?

“People are worshipping the dollars, the Sterlings not to even talk of the Naira.

“He wrote a minority report saying this is what we have decided. But the President of that court was my classmate for six years in secondary school; he is from my own state. So, please, we have nothing to regret. Absolutely nothing.

“Since we all believe that God works in our hearts not in our talking. God help us, God help our children and grandchildren.

“We will try as much as we can to work and bring this country to it senses.

“God has given Nigeria everything; we are rich in human and material resources so let us keep praying to God that He should put people of conscience in charge at all levels,” Mr Buhari said.

The president commended members of the BSO for supporting him over the years without expecting anything in return.

He is one of UK’s hottest rappers at the moment, with two of his singles peaking at number 1 (“Pass Out” and “Written in the Stars”) in the UK Singles Chart of 2010.

He has collaborated with the best of the best in the music world including Rihanna, Rita Ora, Eric Turner, the defunct Swedish House Mafia, J Cole and Snoop Dogg.

His most popular track till date, “Written in the Stars”, was the official theme song for WWE’s Wrestlemania 27 and was also used to usher in the New York Giants for Super Bowl 46.

Popularly known for his February 2015 single, “Classic Man”, Jidenna blends African Ankara prints into his outfit, a move that gives him up as an African.

Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, who is signed to Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Records label, was born in Wisconsin to a Nigerian father and a white mother and grew up in Nigeria.

In 1995 his family moved back to Boston Massachusetts. His song “Classic Man” was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 58th Grammy Awards.



4. American rapper, Nas


Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, who is the son of popular Jazz musician, Olu Dara blues musician of Yoruba descent, is an internationally known American Rapper, producer and more.

He began his musical career in 1991 and released his debut album Illmatic, in 1994.

Popular for tracks like “Hate Me Now” and “Ether”, Nas’ 2002 album God’s Son peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Time Magazine named it the best hip-hop album of the year. Nas visited Nigeria when he attended the 2008 edition of the Soundcity Music Video Awards (SMVA) to present the award for the “Best Hip-Hop Video”.



5. British R&B singer, Lemar


English R&B singer and song-writer, Lemar Obika, was born on April 4, 1978, to Nigerian parents of Enugu State.

The award-winning Lemar, although much hasn’t been heard of him of recent, released hit songs like Time to Grow, If There’s Any Justice”.

He rose to fame following his position in the third place on the first series of British talent show Fame Academy.



6. British Soul Singer, Sade Adu


Folashade Helen Adu is a Nigerian-British soul musician, born in Ibadan and tutored in England.

She achieved worldwide fame and acclaim in the 1980s as the lead vocalist of the multi-platinum selling group, Sade, which was named after her.

Sade Adu is the first Nigerian to win a Grammy award, a feat she achieved in 1986 with her band, Sade.

Sade has sold more than 40 million units till date.



7. American rapper, Chamillionaire




The controversial Grammy Award-winning rapper was born Hakeem Seriki in Washington DC to a Muslim father and a Christian mother, both of Nigerian extraction.

At a very tender age, the family relocated to a rough neighborhood in Houston, Texas.

It was a move that would go on to shape the rest of his life. While in Houston, he was influenced by hardcore acts such as The Geto Boys and Public Enemy.

His first solo album, The Sound of Revenge, peaked at number 10 in the Billboard 200 US chart following its release in November 2005.

Chamillionaire is best known for his 2007 Grammy Award-winning rap single, “Ridin’”, which featured Krayzie Bone of the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.



8. U.S. Rapper, Wale


Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, popularly known by his stage name Wale (Wah-lay), is an American rapper best known for his single “Pretty Girls”.

Wale has rubbed shoulders with the very best in the American music industry including the likes of Lady Gaga, Wiz Khalifa and Pharrell Williams.

He has two BET awards in his kitty.

He’s currently signed to Maybach music, a record label owned by rapper Rick Ross.



9. British Grime Rapper, Skepta


Joseph Junior Adenuga was born on September 19, 1982. He is better known by his stage name,Skepta.

He is an English Grime artist, songwriter and record producer of Nigerian descent.

Adenuga released his debut studio album Greatest Hits in late 2007 and his second, Microphone Champion in 2009, both independently, while his third studio album Doin’ It Again was released in 2011 by AATW, His fourth studio album, Konnichiwa, was released on May 6, 2016 to critical acclaim, winning the year’s Mercury Prize.
