Lies Lies Lies
stop looking for my trouble.
let me quote myself
. . .
i talk about the INDIVIDUAL and not someone's tribe as a whole.
thats very silly. people that do that no get any sense at all.

most of the people here who accuse me of being a tribalist are tribalist themselves and like to point the finger at everyone else just to get the attention away from themselves.

i dont even know any nigerians anyway. wasnt introduce to this whole tribalism fiasco until coming to nairaland.
even you said that same sh.it yourself, sjeezy.
so what are you on about?
i could really care less. imma not like you for you and not where you come from.
unlike SOME people here.

@ amaka

calm down- I'm trying to arrange a handsome Yoruba(?) guy for you- you should be thanking me.

FYI- get your mind on another track while you're at it.

im not a tribalist, if i see a yoruba and i like him, i will date him.
just like with an igbo, ijaw, or any other person like that.
like i said before, im not a tribalist, and you still havent given any evidence to back up your claim.
its only tribalist people that see everything in this world in a tribalist way.
for example: most of the time you interpret things ALL WRONG just because of your insecure ways and defensive.
so that yoruba comment wasnt needed.
and FYI, you should be arranging someone for yourself, not me.
your clock is ticking so i think you should help yourself now, before its too late.
anyway there is still hope with freshmoney! grin

TV/Movies / Nollywood Movie Covers by THEAMAKA3(f): 10:32pm On Dec 06, 2009
why do nollywood movie covers always consist of blown up faces?
ive always wondered why instead of getting real covers for a movie, they just show the faces of the actors and actresses that act in the movie.
i remember walking into a movie store in nigeria and getting a headache from the 100s of movies in there with the same ugly covers of faces look at me. AHHHH!!!
cant they be more creative? something that would attract a person into buying it?
i think this is another problem with nollywood.

what is up with this?

what about more movies with covers like this? (so much better)

part 1+2+3+4 = 90 mins of movie.
lmao!! so true.
anything to make money ooooo.
when they started making 2 parts, i thought it was ridiculous. then movie started having 3 parts!! AHHHHH. and some now even 4 sef.
but most movies that ive noticed are two parts long and then the SEQUEL would be another two parts. so at the end of the day its really a 4 part movie.
stu.pid nollywood.
each part would be about 55 minutes long.  undecided

TV/Movies / Re: Celebrity Takes 2 (season 2) by THEAMAKA3(f): 10:13pm On Dec 06, 2009
EloSela:

I think this show would have been much more interesting if they had based it on the many dance forms of Africa and left the waltzes and foxtrots alone. The costumes they would have had to put together to perform such dances would have been amazing. The costumes on Nigerian celebrity takes two are a joke!
yeah i agree.
western this and western that. i would have loved to see such too.
a lot of nigerian/african shows are heavily influenced by western tv shows.
this show, and west african idol (is that show even still on?) and naija sings (most of the songs were american songs, and not even songs by their own artists)
and there is much, much more

i wont say i believe it, but who knows how much this lady was paid to lie!!
in hollywood you have people selling stories of celebs to the media for this and that amount of money.
so it has now spread to nollywood?

I am not Igbo but I really admire the ingenuity of these people. They are really one of the reasons one is proud to be a Nigerian. It is just so sad that we live in a country where such is not supported. Imagine if the government could support this 'industry', our country could be exporting 'tricycles' in less than 3 years to other countries. However, trust our leaders, they will gladly rather import from Ghana than support a potential market in Nigeria.

I have said it here before and I will say it again, our leaders just need to give us constant power and we Nigerians will do the rest! If I was President, I will permit all industries to generate their own electricity and even give tax incentives to those who are self sustaining power wise.

A piece of advice to Nairalanders. Please let us stop being tribalistic. This is the bone our corrup leaders throw at us so that we don't have time to focus on issues like fighting corruption. Meanwhile, they, inspite of their tribe, sit at Abuja and steal our money. Ibori and Yaradua are not from the same tribe yet one is using all his money to support the other while the other is defending 'one' even with his life at risk.
We the masses must learn to reject this bone and work together to build a better country, one our generation and future generations will be proud of.

i like people like you.
you dont have to be igbo just to admire something that is happening in NIGERIA.

How U take no wetin dey happen Owerre. . .hmmm. . .Well sha! u re not far 4rm the truth, however, what U are actually referring to is a Tricycle and nothing more.I am yet to see these okada turned tricycle models in Owerre.I was there 3 days ago and that's where I sch. . . Infact,I doubt if the SG will allow it but I must confess, those aba models are as efficient if not more than those tricycles that appear to be unstable. . . .I respect craft men in Aba. . . .as a matter of fact no state can bet of raw talents in craft like Aba. . . It's a fact!!
you live in naija or something? lol
well i know about those cart/tricycle things cause my mom was telling me about how they banned okadas in owerri in october 2008 (i think) and how they replaced them with three-wheeled carts or something. lol
and ive seen a pic or two somewhere.
so the tricycles in owerri arent stable? bad idea? ehh??

How many Dubai are we going to have in this country? Tomorrow Zamfara will join suit.
what is your problem? people always complain about Nigeria this and that, this and that, when people finally step forth with an ambition to turn their city/area into Dubai (i think Dubai is used only as an example to express how much they want to drastically change the area) then people want to ask silly questions like that.
ah ahn!! so what if they want to transfer everywhere into Dubai. is it a crime?
