So much land, so much greenery; Osun has the enviable opportunity to build a smart, green and highly liveable city that would be the envy of other states. It also has a huge opportunity of building an agricultural success template for others. Ogbeni has done his bits, I only hope that the next governor is futuristic and strategic. |

I know this would come across as petty and bigoted, but there is a deliberate ploy to focus development in the North, simple. Already, the Kano-Kaduna rail project is on to extend the Abuja-Kaduna route, while no single grain of sand has yet been lifted for the Lagos-Calabar rail that would cut across 8 states in three geopolitical zones. There are massive road constructions going on up north, while the south suffers-Zaria-Katsina, Kaduna-Kano, Kano-Maiduguri etc. Anywhere you find Buhari and El-Rufai together, know that ethno-religious machinations are been hatched. |

Ekiti, Imo, Rivers, Benue and Kogi states are proofs that Nigerians have been hypnotized. Believe me, even if a governor names his mother, father and siblings as commissioners in Nigeria, NOTHING will happen. We have accepted stupidity as a norm. |

Bollinger: I don't know if you know how it works in normal countries but that is not how they police compliance. Which is what Nigeria lacks. They ensure everyone is held accountable to the law. There is always, and i mean always, personal and individual audit. All day everyday. I'm here scratching my head as to how this stock news stops a policeman from demanding bribe in the middle of traffic. Although I don't agree with you, I nonetheless like your train of thoughts and your discourse maturity. Me still thinks there is nothing wrong with celebrating 'little successes'. It is little drops like this that form critical mass of successes that are tangible and that can spiral to everyone. It's like saying we should not celebrate our qualification for the World Cup because there is corruption. How does World Cup celebration stop a policeman from demanding bribe? It probably won't, but does that mean we should not celebrate it? I know the contexts are different, but I hope you get my point. |

Bollinger: You do understand that the goal of a company is not to create jobs but to to make profit right? Just because i have more cash flow does not mean i start hiring. It means i have cash reserves in case of emergencies. And if i were Nigerians, i would hold of on celebrating anything until corruption is crushed. Doing anything else is delaying the inevitable. Will not celebrating crush corruption? |
Investment › Re: Nigeria Stock Market Among The Top 5 Global Performers In 2017: CNN by TheAngry1: 3:12pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
Bollinger: You don't get the point. It's not about celebrating or not celebrating the news. In normal countries like Germany, the UK, the US, etc, when you hear news like this, you are 100% sure it would impact the society positively? The question you need to ask yourself is, how does this affect you and others positively? You and i know that this news does not mean shiit in a densely corrupt country like Nigeria. The news is like saying "we are the top nation in basket production and we will be using it to fetch water". As long as corruption exists in Nigeria at the level it is, it's people can never see any meaningful impact. Look, we have gone through a lot lately and ANYTHING little positive should be celebrated. How does this trickle down to the masses? Well, does whose stocks performed would be able to create jobs and provide for their families. It doesn't cost much to invest in the stock exchange, the NSE is still one of the cheapest in the world. |
