“On interrogation, Olamide confessed that he and one herbalist abducted the victim and her son on the 13th of February 2021, and that the victim and her son were killed for money ritual at the house of the said herbalist”.

A 29 years old herbalist Baoku Gbuyi and a 27 years old Bricklayer Olamide Odulaja have been arrested by detectives of Ogun State Police command, for allegedly killing a housewife, Modupeola Folorunsho and her 4 years old son, Peter Folorunsho for money ritual.

The arrest of the suspects, according to a statement by the command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, followed a report received at Ijebu Igbo division from the victim’s husband.

Oyeyemi said, Folorunso reported on 14th of February 2021, that his wife and his son went out since the previous day and were yet to return, and that efforts to locate her and the little boy didn’t yield any positive result.

He added that “upon the report, a case of missing person was incidented, and the DPO Ijebu Igbo Division, SP Kazeem Solotan detailed his crack detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the woman and her son”.

“The detectives embarked on technical and intelligence based investigation, which led them to the arrest of Olamide Odulaja at Ibadan”.

“On interrogation, Olamide confessed that he and one herbalist abducted the victim and her son on the 13th of February 2021, and that the victim and her son were killed for money ritual at the house of the said herbalist”.

“He stated further that, it was the herbalist who burnt the woman’s head which he used for him”.

“Upon his confession, detectives went after the herbalist who resides at Araromi street Japara Ijebu Igbo”.[/b]

Oyeyemi added, “on getting to his resident, it was discovered that the herbalist had taken to flight having heard about the arrest of Olamide”.

“Subsequently, all the adjoining divisions were alerted to be on look out for the fleeing suspect. He was eventually traced to Kajola village, where he was arrested by the DPO Awa Ijebu with the assistance of hunters and local vigilantes”.

“On interrogation, the herbalist confessed that it was Olamide Odulaja who approached him for money ritual following which he asked him to bring a human head as one of the material to be used”.

“He stated further that they both conspired to abduct the woman and her son and slaughter them for that purpose”.

“He confessed further that he burnt the woman’s head with some other herb which he gave to Olamide to use. When asked about the little boy, he said that his head and remains was dumped inside a pit latrine”.

The State Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, who commended his men for their display of investigative intelligence has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

The CP who described the incident as the height of man’s inhumanity to man, warned those who are out looking for money ritual to desist as only hardwork backed with prayer can lead to success.

An old video of South-West secessionist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, saying he has been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party since 1999 has gone viral on social media.

In the video posted by ‘Express News’ which was recorded at a rally organised by Musa Wada, the Kogi State governorship candidate of the PDP in 2019, Igboho is seen boasting about his membership of the PDP.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, are also seen at the rally.

Responding to a question from a journalist, Igboho says, “I am Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho. I am a PDP member, confirmed, since 1999. I came here (Kogi rally) because of my father, Wada, because I know that by the grace of God, he is the one that will win the governorship of Kogi State.”

He also took a jibe at Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, calling him ‘yeye’ Bello.

Yeye, in Pidgin English, means an unserious person or a joker.

“Yeye Bello is already gone. Look at this state. The man has done nothing in the state. He doesn’t pay workers salary. It is not good. Yahaya is a very small guy but he didn’t do anything. Peoples expect him to do more than that but he hasn’t done anything. That is why we want Wada to hijack the government from him. Kogi youths should support him so that yeye.”

Igboho, who now says he is a Yoruba activist, recently started a crusade to expel Fulani herdsmen from South-West states due to the wanton killings.

On Thursday he declared that the South-West had seceded from the nation.

Earlier, the self-styled Yoruba warrior threatened to go after politicians of Yoruba extraction who are already campaigning ahead of the 2023 general election.

Speaking in a video, Igboho said, “Instead of Yoruba politicians to be leading the secession struggle, they are campaigning for the next presidential election. You should know that you are not supposed to seek election to the office of the President, you should identify with our agitation and lead us in the secession struggle.

“I will not allow you to campaign because I will kill you all (Yoruba politicians) before (2023) campaigns. I swear to God, we will shoot them with guns from the back.”

On Saturday, the Nigerian Bar Association, Anambra State Chapter, after reviewing the situation, ordered its members to boycott courts in the state for three days, starting from Monday.

A statement signed by the eight chairmen of bar branches in the state read in part, “The committee of chairmen and secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Association branches in Anambra State bemoans the worsening security situation in Anambra State and calls on the Federal Government, Anambra State Government and heads of security agencies to wake up and be alive to their responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of the citizens.

“The Committee notes that the security situation in Anambra State is highly tensed up and frightening to say the least.

“Recently, there has been cases of kidnap and gruesome murder/killing of innocent citizens and security personnel in the state and nothing is being done to curb this frightening security challenges in the State.

“Just last week Friday, a Lawyer, Frank Onwuachi, who is also the President General of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State was kidnapped along Ezu River/Anaku road and gruesomely murdered the following day by his captors.

“On 19/3/2021, two Prison Officers were killed at Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA and this is barely 24 hours after Naval officers and policemen were killed at Awkuzu and Neni respectively.

“Also, a Naval Outpost close to Bridgehead was attacked sometimes last week resulting to the killings of some Naval officers and their weapons carted away.

“We call on the State Government to as a matter of urgency summon a meeting of various security agencies in the state to address this worrisome security situations and tackle it headlong. Failure by the State Government to act immediately may lead to a descent to anarchy.

“We all cannot continue to downplay the Security situation or pretend that all is well. The time to act is now.”

While condoling with the NBA Otuocha branch, the families of late Frank Onwuachi and all security men killed by unknown gunmen, the lawyers resolved
that all lawyers in the state “shall boycott all courts from Monday to Wednesday”.

“That all lawyers in Anambra State should converge on the Judiciary Headquarters, Awka on Monday, by 12 noon for onward movement to the Government House, Awka to express our dissatisfaction with the current security situation in Anambra State,” The concluded.
