As varied reactions trailed the declaration of last Saturday’s governorship poll in Osun inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, on Monday night said shocking discovery had indicated no fewer than 4,387 votes were allegedly removed by the electoral body from the total ballots polled by the opposition party.

Addressing a press conference in Ede, the South West zonal secretary of the PDP, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo said thorough investigation has revealed that the PDP was allegedly shortchanged by INEC through the summation of votes in Olorunda and Osogbo local government councils by allotting more votes to the All Progressives Congress (APC) than what the party garnered during the poll.

According to Jenyo, details obtained from Form EC 8C showed that in Olorunda local government, the total votes polled by the APC was 14, 867, while INEC recorded 16,254 votes for the ruling party, indicating that 1,387 additional votes we’re allotted to the APC.

He further alleged that similar scenario played out in Osogbo local government, where the actual votes polled by the APC stood at 21, 479, adding that on contrary INEC recorded 23, 379 votes for the party.

Jenyo, however added that INEC recorded 14, 499 for the PDP instead of 14, 599, just as he said the total votes of the PDP was reduced by 1,000 in Ayedaade local government.

GOV. AKINWUNMI AMBODE has ordered the immediate shut-down of Don Climax bonded terminal, Thursday July 26, 2018.

The event leading up to the twilight of Don Climax being sealed off began with the sloppy false imprisonment of Fakunle Sheriff Ekundayo, who is the Chief Press Secretary to Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, by management of Don Climax after the journalist was dispossesed of his electronic gadget by some youths believed to be workers of the freight forwarding company. His camera and means of identification was hurriedly seized, on the order of one Mr. Okwudili, believed to be younger brother to the owner of Don Climax Ltd.

In a veiled attempt of verifying the authenticity of the media aide, a member of the management team held the CPS in his office at a close watch with a uniformed police officer as moves was intensified to arrest him through the Trinity Police Division.

He was however rescued by police officers attached to Ajegunle Police Division on the order of the Divisional Police Officer ASP Sunday Digha, after a phone call from the Executive Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola.

In a swift move, His Excellency, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode stormed Don Climax bonded terminal in the company of some members of the Governors cabinet, together with Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola and his Council team.

A visibly furious Mr. Ambode questioned the audacity of Don Climax management over the false imprisonment of Hon. Ayoola’s CPS.
“Who detained the person that was sent to photograph this premises?” Gov. Ambode asked.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction on the legal activities of the Nigerian Custom at the bonded terminal, as the most senior Custom Officer, Mr. Abdullahi failed to answer whether the Don Climax was licensed to operate a bonded terminal in a residential area. He said: “I understand you are observing your legal duties here, but who licensed Don Climax to operate here?”

The action Governor declared that the premises are not fit for a business of such purpose. “This place is a residential area, and you are not supposed to operate a bonded terminal here,” the Governor declared.

His Excellency therefore ordered the immediate shut down of the premises, by instructing Ministry of Physical planning to take over thereafter.

“Commissioner of Police and other security agencies are hereby notified, I want the Ministry of Physical Planning to take over, and workers including Custom officers should evacuate this premises within 30 minutes of this order, this is my instruction,” Gov. Ambode submitted.

The Lagos State Governor, also extended shut down of other bonded terminals in Ajegunle until further directives stating otherwise.
