Christianity EtcRe: If God is love, why did He harden Pharaoh's heart in Exodus 9:12?" by TheDevilsBride(f): 2:22pm On Jan 31, 2025

Rhetorically it's an idiom not literal!
Is that what we're calling divine capriciousness nowadays, lol?

God hardening Pharaoh's heart doesn't mean God turned the man's mind against Himself rather it means God allowed Pharaoh to keep doubting His mightiness.
I'll give credit where due, you are highly talented, the way you twist and contort the scriptures in such hilarious fashion to your taste. Active divine intervention has somehow transmogrified into passive permission. Nawa. Not even a yogi can twist and turn like this! Are you proposing we should go back to our dictionaries and rewrite the meaning of the word harden in light of your fascinating, albeit dubious, new interpretation?

The best form of defense is to attack so if God the Almighty is pleading with a mere mortal like Pharaoh when He could just cripple him so that he can't walk surely he will realize that there is no security preventing this God from reaching him.
This is evasion of the topic via disconnected ramblings, not exegesis. Oh, and I don't know if you noticed but you just debunked free will.

However God only wanted to send a warning signal to all the inheritants of Canaan so that they may leave the place for His chosen people after hearing how He journeyed with two feeble octogenarians to the world's most powerful nation and released millions of people who were serving as slaves without a single fight.
So your omnibenevolent god saw no better, less destructive alternatives to convey his message? Very interesting.

An adage says "you are to blame for mating with their wives instead of mating with their mothers to prove your superiority"
...a proverb so spectacularly misguided, and profoundly irrelevant to the question at hand. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't genuinely impressed by its sheer audacity.

If God allowed Pharaoh to keep seeing himself as King and God standing in the way of liberty for God's people that is tantamount to giving the man some liver to resist the order from the Almighty God!
So far in your argument, you've debunked God's omnibenevolence, as well as the concept of human free will. Was that your intention all along, or did you unwittingly blast off your own foot trying to resolve your cognitive dissonance? Orchestrating defiant behaviors in humans does not align with the concept of an all-powerful, omnibenevolent deity. Such a deity wouldn't need to turn Pharaoh into a puppet for his infantile games just to establish his sovereignty.

"If God is love, why did He harden Pharaoh's heart in Exodus 9:12?"
i will be glad if you can give me biblical explanation to this?
My dear, I believe you're starting to see the elephant in the room.

Imagine a "loving" God who forcibly overrides the free will of his creation just to punish them for the very actions he forced them to take! Is this ridiculous subterfuge not worthy of a Tiktok skit? Lol.
