It seems the processing time for any category of UK visa now extends beyond 15 working days. Am I right?

Sorry, I actually meant my payslips bear my maiden name, but I didn't state in the application form, that I'm also known by another name. cry

This "Your given name is usually your first name. Your family name is the surname that is shared by your family. If you have middle names, include these with your given name. If your name has a suffix (e.g. Jr), include this with your given name. If you have a patronymic name include it with your given names. You must tell us all your given names."

This should not be an issue. Guess you used your maiden name? Wait for gurus to shed more light on this.

What about your employment documents?

Hello everyone, I just realised that I didn't provide my patronymic name in my application form and that's the name on my payslips. Please, how do I fix this silly mistake? cry cry I have already gone for my appointment yesterday.

My husband's salary is 85k after all deductions. Monthly expense is 70k. My salary is 108k, Monthly expense is 50k. But i will like to point to you that they did not mention disposable income on both parts. That is because he declared another source of income which is where the rent comes in. And its from the rent we receive as income we intend to pay for the trip.

The salary is just too low for the budget. The large inflows will not be considered. Wait for sometimes. If you can show huge account balance 6 months from now, perhaps ECO will be convinced that your husband indeed inherited property that gives him large income aside his day job. With this new information, please don't just reapply immediately.

The issue is not your husband sponsoring you. The issue is that you don't have enough earnings aside the large inflows which ECO disregarded.

Hello All,
i and my family got refused today.
My husband is our sponsor. We planned to spend 3500 on this trip. 1500 for me, 1500 for him and 500 for our child. I am employed and my husband is as well. He has properties that he inherited from his grandmother which gives him income which came in starting in August this year due to the pandemic. We attched property documents and rent receipts, rental agreements to prove the source of funds.
The ECO kept mentioning my bank account balance when i am not the sponsor.
What is the next best step for us?

I understand that your husband is the sponsor but your income is low compared to the amount you intend to spend. Unless you or your husband is earning substantial income that 1500 pounds will be within his 1 month salary, ECO will frown at your budget. Inflows in August were seen as one off.

You have a huge balance in your account but ECO was not convinced that the inflows were not meant to shore up your account balance. I'd suggest you restrategize and reapply but you must convinced ECO about the inflows in August. I'd suggest you reduce your budget or the length of stay.

Good morning, thanks for the response.
Have been refused becos of more than 2times of my disposable income.
The way forward what do you advise I use as monthly expenditure in other not to exceed 2times my disposable income and should my budget be this time around, DAT include flight and miscellaneous, as am staying wit a friend DAT will provide accommodation and feeding. as the ECO said my condition need to change before I can apply again, and I intend to apply in 3months time. Thank you

author=TheExalted post=96374233]

Your income is N288k, disposable income is N176k. Assuming your travel budget is 1k GBP, which is about N500k, this is almost tripple your disposable income. If you're going to stay with a friend or family in order to cut the cost of your trip below 1k GBP, your case will be better presented. 500k is less than twice your income, hopefully ECO will not go the route of disposable income on you.

If i were staying with a friend, my budget should be around 700GBP. I will shorten the length of my stay to reduce the budget. You're already spending 112k/month. You can't reduce it to zero, even if you reduce your living expense by 50% (66k/month), it will only add about 100gbp to your budget. Keep your budget and expense low but reasonable. If it's too low, it becomes unreasonable, ECO will spot it.

Hello full house, weldone ,Pls advise me, I earn monthly salary 220k monthly, investment return monthly 68k. Wat will be my best monthly expenditure in other not to exceed 2 times of my monthly disposable income as I see on this platform. Will be invited by a friend she is providing feeding n accommodation. What will be my budget for this 2weeks trip. because I was refused this month as I stated I spend 112k monthly and I budgeted £1000. Wat will be the evidence that my condition has changed. As I intend apply 3months time. Kindly advise. Thank you for your support

The date for my vacation has passed.

Greetings to everyone in the house, in early march I was denied UK visitors visa due to unexplained funds in my account, which the gurus in the house pointed it out and adviced I keep my account clean with my salary been the only credit, which I decided to embark on and resubmit this early November. But now I need your advice on what to do I the following situation.

NB: My salary normally comes in 2 parts (a smaller part, and then a larger part).

At first
1. I printed my statement from may 1st to 27th October, but due to the pandemic the first part of my salary (the smaller part) was paid on 25th april, while the larger part was paid 10th of may
And on 25th of that same may I recieved the 2 legs of my salary for may on the same day (which is how is normally is) but now do I need to explain to them that the salary paid on that 10th is due to the covid19 issue.

Explain your salary structure in your application and in your cover letter. Do the math and explain it clearly. 1st leg + 2nd leg=October salary, do same for each of the months affected. State clearly that covid-19 affected your company's operations hence the cash crunch that led to payment of your salary twice.

Hey people! Back again cos I’m about to start freaking out. So I called UKVI this morning to ask if there’s any reason my application is taking so long (today being the 17th working day) and they told me a decision has already been made on my application and that my passport is back with TLS contact. However I never received any email apart from the one they sent when they said they’ve received my documents. And I’m not sure why TLS hasn’t emailed me about my passport. I paid for courier service so they’ll bring it to me. My question now is:

has anyone experienced this before and should I be expecting a refusal letter with my passport?

Is there a number for TLS?

Congratulations in advance!

Guys today will make it the 13th working day since my biometrics at Ikeja. I haven’t received any emails and when I check “track you application” it’s still at “received by DMC”. My proposed trip is in a months time. And I’ll be travelling back to school from the UK so I can’t afford for my passport to be trapped indefinitely. Should I be worried or just relax?

Relax, delayed passport is a sign of good news if you have not received refusal email.

Hello gurus in the house,

A friend has a visa to UK but has applied for tourist visa to Canada, did biometrics already. He is planning to travel to UK soon. If he was asked to submit his passport, is it possible to submit it in UK or has to come back to Nigeria?

Urgent please! Thank you!

Hello everyone, I received a refusal mail yesterday. Reasons were cause I didn’t attach a business registration certificate since I mentioned I was self employed (artist & photographer). I explained why in my cover letter and shared invoices of my source of income.
Also, because of immigration history. I think that’s cause my passport is virgin, hence they felt I intended to go and never come back.

Moving forward, I would rectify all of these issues and reapply next year. But in the mean time, is it advisable I join a tourist group on a trip to Istanbul this November? Would my UK refusal affect that? I just thought to apply for the tourist opportunity to atleast boost my travel history while I work on rectifying my other issues.

Please respond.

Yemi234

I am sorry to hear about your refusal. Travel history is always a plus. You could travel out to improve your chances but it is not necessarily a requirement. You could get a visa without travel history by addressing the issues raised in your refusal letter. Make sure you dot the "i" and cross the "t"s.

Thanks alot for your suggestions. I am having a rethink of it reasonable to stay on UK for 6 days cos I'm expected self isolate for the 6 days. I think the purpose of my visit is defeated if I can't go out during my stay. Pls do you know anyone who got a uk visit visa while staying for less than 14 days ?

[q inuote author=TheExalted post=94699125]

Your monthly salary is about 518 pounds as at today.

Except for the effect of Covid-19 14 days quarantine, you could plan a 2 week tourism with GBP1k budget. However, this is almost double your monthly salary and it is a risk factor. If you have someone that can invite you so you don't have to pay for accommodation, your budget can come down to about 700 Pounds.

If no one is inviting you, i'd suggest you find an affordable hostel in/or outside London. Keeping your budget low but reasonable will be helpful.

TeePee85
Staying less than 6 days means you will be violating Covid-19 guidelines so the purpose is defeated as you may not be allowed entry at the POE.
