Admission decision for one of the schools I applied to just arrived

School: Brigham Young university, Provo, Utah (Actually one of my top choices. Highly rated than the others I applied to with the best funding as well).

Status: Accepted

Program: PhD, Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Funding: In the affirmative, YES (GA)

However, I am still awaiting decisions from the other schools I applied to:

Louisiana state university, Ohio university, Georgia state university, University of Wyoming, University of Idaho, Oregon State University.


Profile:

Undergraduate course of study: Industrial chemistry

GPA: 3.38/4.00

GRE: 300

TOEFL: 99

No publication or research experience whatsoever. Although, I have about three years work experience.

For those of us still expectant of admission decisions, hold your horses and be positive.

And lest I forget, Mr ponpon thanks for the encouragement. I never imagined I would apply to seven schools if not for your encouragement.

I did mine December in Owerri amidst the difficulties. I remember I had to use my internet hotspot to do the test.

Yes, I got the interview invite just yesterday for an interview scheduled to take place in Portharcourt.

I think what would follow is an assessment centre, not another test.
I as well think the probable cut-off mark is between 55% - 65% (55% and 65% inclusive).

I applied about an hour ago. I have done both tests, and have received successful feedbacks from both tests. The feedbacks for both tests arrived almost immediately. I wonder why yours is taking too long.

You are so on point! They need to understand that Nigeria cannot change with such an altitude. Though I didn't make it to the next stage, but all the same I thank God for giving me the opportunity and privilege to partake in the test in the first place. To all who were regretted by Dragnet/Seplat, I want to encourage us to continue moving forward... all is not lost yet. There are other better opportunities out there. I don't know about the screenshots cus I never saw them. I wrote my test as early as 1.00am on the 10th. I first tried with my phone but couldn't get a good view so I switched to my PC. To be frank, the questions were simple to decipher. To God be the glory I got the invite and the text to confirm it.

In as much as I despise any act of cheating a system (posting screenshots of test questions inclusive), I cannot agree with the fact that Dragnet blacklisted all candidates whose test was on the 10th of January, 2018, just because of a silly act of an individual. I can confidently say that Nairaland members who took the test on the 10th of January do not make up to 40% of the test takers who wrote on the date in question. Consequently, it would be foolery for Dragnet to punish ALL just because of a silly individual; the worst that would happen is to cancel the test and call for a retake. I am sure some persons who wrote on the 10th got an invite for the next stage.

For those who didn't make it to the next stage, I think at this point we should just see it as an opportunity for failing forward and not a set back.
However, I am baffled by the way some peeps on this forum encourage cheating.... And to think that some peeps will still have the courage to mention God in their depraved act beats my imagination. You hear words like, 'what will be will be', 'if God has destined it for you, nobody can change it'; all these words just to encourage the perpetrators, and we think Nigeria is gonna turn good overnight. SMH.

Same one section I did. And I noticed same too. Had to send a mail to Diamond informing them of the difference in exams. I think you should do so too. Because if we're graded based on just one section as against two others did, it'll be really unfair.

I was scheduled for Owerri, but didn't receive the call. I noticed that guys who did their test in Abuja and Lagos had two sections, but I only had one section when I did mine in Owerri (I had to use my hotspot to take the test).

Did you take the test in Owerri? If yes, how many sections did you attempt? Thanks.
