Hello fams,
For those who are familiar with the Owerri terrain, is it possible to get a cheap guest house or motel not too distant from the test center where one can pass the night? I would have preferred Lagos as my test venue since it's kinda close to my present location, but I got Owerri. I don't just understand how they scheduled this thing. I even mailed them for a reschedule, but no response.
Anyone who can assist with an answer to my question should please do. Thanks. |

TWoods: You’re simply looking to justify your own dishonesty by claiming i am. Perhaps the problem isn’t that a thief is jailing a thief, but that a thief wants to be treated as a respectable member of society (on the excuse that “we are all thieves”) when he/she isn’t deserving of it.
What surprises me is that those who jump around like they’ve got bees in their bonnet anytime you remind them of their own willingness to lie and cheat, is that they don’t realize the irony of thousands of them desperately dying to go to countries built on the same honesty and respect for rule of law that the despise. If you were looking to define hypocrisy, I couldn’t find a better example. Oh yeah I got that squarely. I am your own reminder reminding you that you are dishonest, fraudulent, insincere and of course a haughty cheat. All you gotta do is deal with that else, you run into a fast-moving train like I earlier suggested. |

TWoods: It is exceedingly hard to annoy me on an anonymous forum. I agree with you that the truth is bitter, hence this illogical screed. You’re not angry because I am arrogant, you’re simply upset because the truth hits close to home.
It is true that he without sin should cast the first stone, but this reminds me of the oft abused “touch not my prophets” linevthat many have used to excuse bad pastors. I wish you the best in all you do. Everyone ultimately reaps what they sow. Absolutely, what goes around comes around. |

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: and here is my point; as a pot does it matter if the kettle calling you black is black, what matters is that you are immersed in soot and have become unclean. whether your detractor, the kettle , is also black is of no use if you do not wash off the layers of carbon black. We are Black pots, and whether or not Twoods, our kettle is black or not, will not wash off our black stains or make us less black. I hate belabouring a point over and over again. In answer to your question, yes it matters. Morally, it is unfair and unjust. C'mon man, think and speak logically like a man of sound mind that you are and not being blinded by partisanism. Is it a just act for a thief to sentence a thief to jail? Is that what is obtainable in the USA? Even the Bible made mention of this, and I quoted it in my first post. Of course, this is hypocrisy. Moreover, the fact that not all Nigerians are fraudulent and dishonest as he purported weakens his claim. Thank you. |

TWoods: I read my bible and I also see that those who are saved show provable evidence of change in their lives. I see none of that in Nigerians . They are just as dishonest, as fraudulent... they simply cry about grace the loudest. If you really do read your Bible as you profess, you must have come across this verse "So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself..., He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." You are so quick to judge Nigerians as dishonest and fraudulent people, when you even seem to be worse off. You can prove Nigerians wrong by returning back to your country as you told the VO while you had your visa interview years back (Well, there's nothing to prove in the first place since you've already exceeded the 2 years given you to study in the USA). From all indications, you are even more dishonest and fraudulent. You're just some dishonest, insincere, proud being who thinks he knows it all and is perfect; you always think you're perfect in all ramifications and can never be corrected. It's just a shame that you risk continuing your life this way. And just so you know, I am aware the truth is pretty bitter, especially for a proud, unrepentant being like you. So, I really do not give a hoot if you get pissed off by this piece. However, if this piece gets you pissed off, you can help yourself by running into a fast-moving train; I hear there are high-speed trains in New Jersey, uh...you should know that by now. |

Okoya: Seriously, for a fresh graduate i really dont think the pay should be your utmost priority now. The learning experience and exposure should be what matters. I cant disclose the pay but certainly its very ok.
Thanks Thank you very much for your response. Though, I wasn't insisting on a specific amount as I understand the confidential policy that's attached to remuneration; I would have been pleased if you had provided a range, since providing a range is not a breach of confidentiality. Moreover, I am not a fresh graduate per se, as I am working already but just need to jump ship to something more career productive. Although, it's usually said that the pay of an organization shouldn't be a priority when on the look out for a career progression, but the true reality is that the pay can not be totally ignored especially when one is trying to dot the I's and cross the T's to make a germane decision that may mar or make the rest of one's life. However, I appreciate your response. Thanks. |

PS; Just apply and hope for the best.
Thanks My question goes thus: What is the pay for this position (Management Trainee)? I am only concerned about the pay because the comments on the previous thread were discouraging. There were claims that the pay is 50k per month which if you ask me is on the low side considering the harsh economic condition. Please, you can give a narrow range of the pay if you don't wanna be specific. Thanks. |

I will post a detailed guide for quants when due, though I did not score a perfect score in Quants this time but I know the strategies are helpful because I sat for the exam on empty stomach, thanks to Oshodi guys that assisted me in keeping my wallet and 167 is not bad in that kind of condition. I have learnt lot from this page and is time to reciprocate the kind gesture.
Good work here@ Scholastica, Knowing you has been a blessing. Please, don't fail to do this. Please. As for the 170 in quants, you are good o. Nice one. |

As long as you're a Naija breed, no shakes on your cgpa. I am cocksure that you're gonna get an awesome cgpa; Naija no dey carry last. As per garri, is it really expensive to get over there? |

Tobymax: please i need your help,. i am a graduate of industrial chemistry from university of Benin , and i seek to further my career with a masters degree in analytical chemistry in america i want to know if there are universities in america with fully funded tuition for MS program in chemistry. thanks for your anticipated response You can check out Louisiana state university. They mostly fund PhD programs though and the good thing is that you can actually apply for their PhD program with just your B.Sc degree. However, you need to take the GRE exams and try to get a good score, at least hitting 300. You can as well add TOEFL to it to make your application strong (though, I am not sure if TOEFL is a compulsory requirement for Nigerians since some schools waive it for Nigerians). You can find out more about the school and the department on google. Other schools you can also check out are: a) University of Idaho b) Ohio university c) University of Texas Elpaso d) East Tennessee state university e) Missouri western state university. Cheers |

Epithet: So I had my GRE today at Galaxy Uniprep Abuja. Please note my post is a bit weird relative of the typical GRE experience. I decided to take the GRE sometime last year searched online and saw this forum, I was inspired by great scores here to all my bosses I hail.
Now to my experience I paid for my GRE around August with walspring's GRE discount Boss I'm definitely grateful for this. Preparation became intense after that though I had gone through a few materials sometime last year I had to revisit each one. I used the Manhattan 8 Series Great Book for Quant, and the Princeton review for Verbal Scholastica16 recommended this, thanks Boss it was helpful. I had gone through the Ets material both quant and verbal before I paid for the exam so I decided to delve into other resources. I watched the magoosh premium videos, those I could get my hands on twice. I definitely recommend that also, for the lesson videos I only went through relevant math topics I had issues with, combination, probability and counting and word problems.
Forward to a month before my exam I systemically went through the Manhattan flash cards the quant was extremely useful the verbal on the other hand had a plethora of words though they may not exactly be GRE esque. You might want to revise well, I think I revised each material I read well like twice or thrice for the ets materials.
I tool the powerprep II and the ets paper test in the week leading to my test, scores were within the range of 325-332, let me chime in here the quant in paper section seemed to easy I didn't have any problem with all question except 1, while I made a few mistakes in the power prep.
Exam day, I consider myself a staid person, so I was pretty relaxed maybe too relaxed, after check in procedures that took almost an hour. The essays were easy to tackle, I had VQVQV the quants didn't seem as hard as I expected maybe the Manhattan prep had raised my level, I guess I made a few mistakes though because I expected a better quant score. Reported my scores 162V 164Q 326, maybe I used easy a lot in my post don't mind me, and surprisingly after the exams I was not tired. Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this story and if you haven't gone through the forum from page 1 until date you're missing a lot of valuable information.
Sent my scores to four schools Purdue, Pennstate, Louisiana state university and University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Profile GPA: 3.75/4 Wes conversion Course: Chemical Engineering Research interest: Renewable Energy TOEFL: Yet to give
#Fall 2018 Yes we can Magnificent! Please, do you mind dropping personal hints/strategies you apply on the verbal section of the GRE test, that of course take into account accuracy and a steady pace? Thanks |
