Family / Which Is The Best Lotion For Kids? by thekichinboss: 8:15am On Aug 18, 2021 |
So I have been on a quest to get a good body care product for my baby. She used to use a particular organic brand, but I don't see any difference in her skin. The marks that were caused by the measles she had sometime ago is still very much visible. She is a year now and I thought, ooohhkay, it's times to fine something else. I went online and it seems that the Lillies Kids and Teens is the new raving sensation, I also had the option of Baby Secret Amino Acid Lotion. Pls have you used any of these creams? What is your experience? And which do you think is better off. |

Food / Where To Get Foodstuffs In Bulk And At Cheaper Prices In Lagos by thekichinboss: 12:28pm On Mar 30, 2021 |
The price of food stuff is increasing by the day and to cook for a family now is money. Just imagine how much a family of six spends on food daily. People no longer even eat thrice daily, if two time manage come out everybody go manage An average Nigerian family must learn how to cut corners when it comes to this food matter so that at least they can eat good food without spending soo much. Meal planning, budgeting, bulk shopping, prepping and preservation are the gateway to spending less money and time in the kitchen. Markets in Lagos where you can get foodstuffs in bulk and at cheaper prices are : Mile 12: you see all those perishables, if you want them fresh and way cheaper than what you will buy in your area, this is the place. Oyingbo: I never see the soup wey you want cook wey the ingredients no dey this market. Especially soups from the Eastern and Southern parts of Nigeria. You want crayfish in bulk? Fish of different types and shapes? Dried or fresh? Liverpool is the place to be. There are other markets that are central for different locations too. Like Mushin, Iyana Iba, Ile-epo, Ikotun, and the likes. For beef and the likes, there are abattoirs scattered all over, popularly called Odo-eran. Just locate the one closer to you. Stocking up monthly or bi-weekly is the way forward. You get to buy food items at the wholesale prices, which would save you some money and of course stress of always going to get in bits. The major challenge of buying in these markets is that a lot of people don't have the money to buy at large quantities, all you have to do is collaborate with other people who need items from the same market and you guys buy together and share. Also, it is one thing to know where these markets are, it's another thing to understand how the market operates and know the nooks and crannies of the market. If not, even in market like Mile 12, you might end of buying expensive stuff. If you are interested in sharing food items or you have a list you want to stock up for the month, click on this link . . . . . /2PHtUwo |

Food / Ever Heard Of Dikpon? Here's How To Make It. by thekichinboss: 11:14am On Mar 29, 2021 |
Very funny name for a very funny food that was probably invented when sapa catch one person and he just couldn't think of what to eat. But then it's a delicious casual snacky meal made from beans. So now imagine buying agege bread straight from the bakery and it is very hot and you buy butter and spread in the middle. The bread hits different cos it's hot. It's no longer just bread and butter right? Not sure exactly why it is called Dikpon tho but I learnt it from my moms ijebu friend, so maybe you might know it if you are ijebu Here is a video of how it is made: . . . . . . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdE8bRZETSE |

Family / What Do Your Miss About Pre-mummy/ Pre-daddy Life? by thekichinboss: 10:48am On Mar 29, 2021 |
I want my sleep back I'm narcoleptic and being a mum with that has taught me that some struggles in life are real. I struggle to stay awake, and yet I don't get to sleep when I am supposed to. And did I mention that I miss spending time in the bathroom. Before baby, I spend time in the bathroom, cos mehn that's where the best ideas drop. And I get to do all the scrubbing and exfoliating. Now ehn, na rush rush baff ooo. My mum will just be shouting, do quick ooo, bath like a mother and don't spend time there ooo. I just rush in and rush out. More importantly I miss my me time with my hubby. Ohhhhh It feels like we no longer have enough time for each other. Now baby is growing to toddler phase, she is always all up in our middle. Hubby goes to work all day, and still has to comman be baby sitting at night if her cry is too much maybe cos of heat. I pity the young man, he will just be fanning her and dozing at the same time while she drains my breasts like she went to work in her dreams. Children are a beautiful gift but mehn sometimes it's so overwhelming, especially if you have never done it before. Trying to blend into the parenting life is hard work. What things do you miss about pre-parenting era? |

culf: .yeah I get, breastmilk and formula cannot be compared. Just that some men begin to overreact as if it is the wife's fault that breastmilk is not flowing. Some men become so aggressive you would think they want to use the milk to drink tea |

Family / Re: What Was It Like Breastfeeding As A First Time Mom? by thekichinboss: 8:08pm On Mar 26, 2021 |
culf: Yeah true. Breastfeeding milk is important but it's not cast in stone if for any reason the mother can't breastfeed. And yes the child will still be smart and intelligent, it's not about breastmilk. Although breastmilk is very essential especially in building the immunity of the child. 1 Like |

HajiaNotu: I totally agree, it's one of the things I recommended in my video too. The milkbooster products work well, I ate it too and milk was just everywhere just after eating a pack of the cookies with Tea. It's even better if a mum starts to eat them from the moment she is 36wks pregnant,it really helps 2 Likes |

culf: Sure Can't be all women ooo, cos me I don't feel anything like orgasm, it's even more of a slight sensation, mostly on the other breast that is not being sucked at that moment, and then before you know it, that one sef go dey leak milk. I think there was a post of a girl who said she felt some kind of orgasmic way when her aunties baby sucked her boobs, but that's not her baby so I guess that's why. 1 Like |

lilyheaven: Awwwwwnnnnn she say the pain touched her inner heart. Massaging with hot water really helped with engorgement. One day my breast was so engorged I was shivering and shaking so badly. My mum said the cold was because of the breast. I quickly expressed it Abeg, even though it means I have to throw it away cos mama wouldn't accept feeding bottle. But my mum reassured me that the pain and engorgement would reduce and finally stop as time went on, especially cos babies tend to increase their sucking quantity 2 Likes |

culf: Sometimes it's like that, and I understand it would be so overwhelming for her. It's okay to use formulas if breastmilk no gree show face, as far as baby is well fed. |
Family / Re: What Was It Like Breastfeeding As A First Time Mom? by thekichinboss: 2:36pm On Mar 25, 2021 |
LadySarah: Them no explain am at all oo I mean, you just see a mother just whip out the breast and the baby is sucking while she just does other things like it is nothing. So in my mind I am like is it not just to suck breast I no know say the matter different. I heard some women actually have serious injuries that bleed around their nipples, so much that nipple cream doesn't even do justice to it. I swear motherhood needs to be a course in special universities cos everyday bit of it is a journey especially the sleepless nights |
Family / What Was It Like Breastfeeding As A First Time Mom? by thekichinboss: 1:45pm On Mar 25, 2021 |
Breastfeeding can be something shaaaaa, why didn't they tell us what we were going to expect? God help you, you have a child that knows how to latch on and suckle very well and very hard, Ohhhh my goodness Breastmilk didn't show face until the next day, I had read a lot about it (not that it does justice to the real experience) but at least I knew what to do to get ready and prepared for the journey ahead. It was pretty smooth for me, my baby knew how to latch on well (as if she had gone for training classes in the womb) so I didn't have problems with latching. But I know some people who didn't have it pretty with breastfeeding, especially cos it's their first time. And those hanties and grandmas too won't help matter, they will just be coming with all sorts of recommendations. I also think that some of the things I learnt during my researches helped a lot. If you are a mom, what was your experience like? A mom to be can learn a thing or two. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You can check out my video where I talked about the things you would need for an almost smooth breastfeeding journey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGwEibb1CsE |
