@ Urfriend Thanks for taking out time to respond to issues on this forum. You guys have had more than your fair share of teething problems. You need to now improve rapidly! Competition is getting hot |
Good prices really! Hope they come in time for Christmas buyers. Cheers. |
You seem to know the answer already or is there a particular thing you want to clarify? |
Ivie, Your technical knowledge is amazing! Many thanks. I have started searching for Mobil 1 5w 20. My nearest Mobil service station only has 0w 40. Will search more, Anyone who knows a Mobil station that stocks wide range of Mobil 1 oil should kindly let me know. |
Ivie, Thanks for your response. I am in Nigeria and the car is a 2007 Camry 2.4L. The manufacturer's recommended oil is 5W 20 or 0w 20. However, I used Mobil 1 0w 40 synthetic oil. I wanted to find out if I should do an oil change immediately? What oil will be best for the car in Nigeria? Many thanks |
Ivie is 0W 40 fine for a new Toyota 2.4 engine or should another oil change be done immediately to 0W 20? Cheers |
Sly, You are a great guy! Many thanks for your help. TheMaster, |

I have been on a Freelander, its not particularly sharp. Why not go to edmunds.com and review all three cars, especially their road test reports. Those guys are good! |
Vanesa, Nice approach and good turn around time. How much can you get me: 2000/2001Camry 2000/2001 CRV? Cheers |
@Toks, Speak for yourself. The so called cars of many millions sell faster these days. Some of those priviledged Nigerians you are talking about are on Nairaland incase you don't know. And not every one is doing illegitimate things. What is clear is that there are different segments in a market. Just face the segment you want to serve and don't criticise those serving other segments. abi? |
I think dealers should provide VIN only and not the Carfax report. Vins checks from guys like Sly, brauneyes and the likes will then serve as independent verification on the car. This is to avoid manipulations |
Thanks for your kindness. God bless you. All you guys are helping us to buy better cars! |
The Sly:Thank you very much. God bless you. You helped to make the decision easy! |
One of the most frequent problems today is rolled back odometers, I have inspected some cars recently, took the VINs, checked them only to find out that the odometers have been rolled back. An example is a 2007 Camry advertised on this forum with 700 miles. Carfax report showed it already did 17,000 miles as at last inspection! If a dealer is aware of this, shouldn't he disclose this? Are all these roll backs done in US or are local dealers capable of doing such? It is so rampant these days! VINs should be posted with every advertised car on Nairaland as a standard! |
