On tithe:
Tithing is an old principle that does not have anything to do with modern day Christianity, our pastors have no comparison to the Levites of old, they own businesses, live affluent and flamboyant lifestyles hence they don't fit the description of the Levites on whom tithing was meant for. Also, we practice Christianity not Judaism. The apostles of old did not practice tithing, they brought what they had and shared amongst themselves.

Most pastors are scam artists in shiny suits, they lack all the powers exhibited by the apostles of old making God a liar on a daily basis. If it were all true, how come the "I'll open up the windows of heaven to pour down blessings so much your house cannot contain" has not happened in the lives of most tithers? Might be because the churches they pay into aren't truly the "Storehouse of God".

No matter what, where, when and how they proved it, anti tithers had and have made up their minds not to give even if it is God collecting tithe Himself. This is not the first, second, third and hundredth times such topic had come to the public domain for discuss on this forum. It will always end like this because when man makes up his mind to do and undo it takes the Spirit of God to change it even when it is so glaring. The Pharisees saw the hand writings, saw the demonstration and still never believed in Christ. So move on and do what you are convinced in your heart to do. It will be impossible to properly discuss the Biblical tithes with the constant accusations being hurled.

This is not the first time Tithe discussions had resulted into rains of insults, accusation and counters with anti-tithers getting more emotional than necessary without displaying mature facts and points. It will be difficult to have one free I bet you. I read, laugh, shake my head and move on.

Well, he should remember that all the problems were present before he became the President and he did promise to solve them.

He should also be told that effective governance is the solution to the problems he identified - militancy, kidnapping and Boko Haram. It is not the absence of those problems that will make him govern effectively. Or what did he achieve in Bayelsa where there was no violence?

If his expectation is that those identified problems must disappear first before he can govern well then he can as well throw in the towel.

Again, he can't perform magic in terms of governance because of problems but he's performing magic in terms of spending? Has his budgetary expenses reduced because he's not been able to deliver? How come the violence didn't stop him from travelling with several aides to Israel and other countries?

Is it violence and kidnapping that has made him unable to fight corruption? Why are the problems facing Nigeria getting worse? People sell kids, sell human parts and do all sorts of outrageous things to make money.

i have answered the what is tithes part directly, and anyone who understand that point should have no issues understanding the storehouse or the devourer. The context is clear.
Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
The store house is the treasury or chambers or place where the offerings were stored. It is simply a building or place where things are stored. There is nothing scholarly or greekly or concordance expository about it. It is a bank, a store. In the same way, offerings, or whatever name you prefer(our word headmasters), collections, tithes, contributions, gifts, donations, they can be stored by the church today anywhere they deem fit. If they like, let them store it in a bowl or in a corporate bank account or in a member's house or in the pastor's kitchen, or inside a church building. It's the same thing and same purpose achieved, to keep to save to store. Its history appears to be from the below; not rocket science BTW.

It is basic Christian 101 that christians are not wrestling against flesh and blood but against the devil and his team. So it is not surprise if a christian views an attack on himself or his own as coming from the devil. It is simply wisdom to get to the root of the matter instead of plucking leaves and branches. The Old Testament offers very little direct knowledge of the devil and his activities. However New Testament christians are not ignorant of his DEVICES.

Question: Since tithe teachers and payers had been teaching\paying tithe, had mosquitoes never bitten them? Don't they have flies in\around their houses? How about cockroaches?

ayoku777: More humility is needed in understanding scripture than dogma. The Melchizedek priesthood is something that still remains to a large extent a mystery. But it seems the early church had other scriptural texts about him that we are not privileged to have around anymore.

Be that as it may from the little account that we have of him in Genesis, Psalms and Hebrew, these are what we can deduce.

That the Melchizedek priesthood is a forever priesthood, there is no succession in it because those in it have eternal life and can't die.

That since it is called 'the order of Melchizedek' by God, it means the first priest in that order is Melchizedek himself. Coz every priesthood order (including the ones that have succession - order of Aaron and Zadok) is named after the first priest in that order.

That since it is a forever priesthood, it means Melchizedek is the first priest and eternal high priest of that order. And subsequent priests must be born of him. Coz you must be born of the high priest to be a priest in an order.

Now, from the book of Hebrew description of Melchizedek, it said he has 'no beginning'. Beginning means before creation. There are only two people in the universe that pre-existed the beginning, and that is YHWH and the Word. 'In the beginning God' and 'In the beginning was the Word'.

So this is what I deduced. If Jesus is now the High priest in the order of Melchizedek, it means he succeeded Melchizedek. Which is not possible coz a high priest must die to be succeeded; and Melchizedek can not die.

If Melchizedek can not die, then it means he ALONE remains the high priest of the order named after him. But Christ was called the High priest in the order of Melchizedek

Melchizedek was not called a High priest throughout the old testament, until we got to the New. And that's coz he was the only one. You need to have priests to have the high priest. Meaning no one was born of melchizedek until the new testament.

I think all this point keeps narrowing this down to one possible outcome - Jesus is Melchizedek. Jesus like the Father has no beginning. He was the priest (mediator) between the father and the universe he (the word) created. And he was the only one in that capacity until he rose from the dead and gave birth to every other believer who is now a priest in the same order. That was when he became the high priest.
