You can’t blackmail me into giving you a new battery, the damage is already done. I told you not to disturb me again after you picked up the laptop the second time even after that I still listened to you but you went ahead trying to fix the laptop by yourself. Even when LG or Samsung gives you a warranty once you try fixing it by yourself the warranty is void.

Second reason I’ll not listen to you is because you called me a fraudster, if I help you it would fund such behavior on Nairaland. Seun and Dragnet has refused to step in so this is my little service to nairlanders.

Listen you are probably even older than me, I’m a very young hustler that came to Lagos to do my NYSC about two years ago and I suffered very hard before I even started to see result. I wasn’t some lazy guy looking for handouts or looking to blackmail people. I’ve done transport business and I found it was hard to control my drivers so I sold the buses. I’m just doing this phone and laptop business part time I have bigger things to focus on rather than trying to discredit someone, I’m not bragging. I’m encouraging you to focus on useful thing in your life.

When I saw you at ikeja, you weren’t the kind of person I wanted to be a friend with. The way you unbuttoned your shirts and talk like you are an agbero, remember when you came to my house I didn’t sleep all night because I was scared of something happening. This is totally wrong sir, no matter what thekid did wrong, the fact that you sold the item to him you ought to imploy customer service (after sales service). This item we are talking bout is ur item, even if you Re not going to do anything atleast show some sort of remorse. for someone to drop 50k in this hard economy to buy items from you and within a week he started having issues. Don't be hard hearted towards this, just consider him to be your younger brother and sort things out.

I wish you went through the thread, I asked him to return the laptop because me sef was wondering if anything was wrong with it. He returned it and called again begging to buy it again, I told him that if he bought it again he shouldn't disturb me, that voided every warranty, within that period someone priced that laptop way more than he was offering but I decided to pity him because he said his uncle wants to kick him out of the house!

It's not about refund or anything, this deal is one month plus old since we did it, I offered him a refund and here he is one month after ranting.

This thread is funny. From my years of dealing with transactions done online once the deal isn't straight forward I flee immediately though matter how enticing the deal is. Stuffs like "my location is far from you, send me the money first I'd send you the item", "I'd pay in installments", "let me drop this as collateral till I balance up". However from what I've read so far kulkid looks aggressive, ignorant and worse his story doesn't add up. People don't understand the concept of offer and acceptance. Three days is a lot of time for a ba3 to get bad but kulkid says it was under a day and didn't give us the full load down the way themonk did. Kulkid honestly it's difficult for anyone to side with you as you've demonstrated how bitter you are here as well. Heck, he's even having problems with his uncle. Themonk this should serve as a huge lesson to you next time

Okay he checked it under a day, what did I do? I collected the laptop and refunded him. After a few days he calls back that he wants the laptop, begging his uncle wants to kick him out of the house. I told him that I’m not interested in dealing with him because I don’t like customers that disturb too much. After pleading for a long while, I told him I’ll give him the laptop but he shouldn’t disturb me again! Listen, let’s assume the laptop wasn’t even charging which I didn’t see for myself, do you think if I was a bad person I would have refunded him? He knows what he is doing, he is broke and want so well the laptop back. Maybe he is trying to play his uncle at my detriment.

Seun and Dragnet you guys should look into this matter please, I’ll deal with this boy if nothing is done.

I told him the laptop battery was changed because it came with a faulty battery. Not every seller can tell you that, I told him even before we started bargaining. I didn’t even change it to a replacement battery but a follow come battery.

This guy contacted me that he wants to buy a laptop I advertised, I said Okay and we fixed a date he called me severally before the date we fixed and fortunately one of the days he called, I was at Ikeja and he was at Ikeja too. So after fixing the screen of a few of the phones I bought, he decided he was coming to my house to see the laptop. I ordered a taxify and we left for the island, while on our way he said he doesn't have anywhere to sleep that he would sleep in my house, I was scared because I've never let a stranger sleep in my house but then I pitied him and he came over to my house with me.

He checked out the laptop the whole night and it was working PERFECTLY, he charged it and everything you could do with the laptop was working. Then he changed the narrative to, he doesn't have enough money. I told him we already had a deal, that I don't like buyers that behave in such a manner. He said I should pity him that he sold his phone for less than he bargained for. I said I'll remove some money but he insisted he still didn't have enough. I asked him to leave the laptop and go that when he had enough he should come back, he said I should keep his phone that he would pay up the next day.

We finally agreed to the above and he left with the laptop while I kept his phone. He called me that same day and said he noticed the laptop wasn't charging, I told him that laptop is fully functional and he tested it all night maybe he did something wrong. I asked him to return in the evening so I'll look at it. He insisted I must see him that morning, I told him I'm busy and that I can't see him that morning. He insisted so I got angry and took both his money and his phone to him and collected back the laptop.

PART 2: The Devil strikes again

After I took back the laptop, it was charging and everything was working. I taught maybe he doesn't know how to use a laptop or he is trying to play smart.

After a few days this guy called me again and said his uncle said he must get a laptop or he leaves the house, that please I should not vex, that he needs the laptop back. I told him I don't like dealing with his kind, that first of all after agreeing at a price, when it reached time to deal he changed it. Second, he inspected the laptop thoroughly before buying and then he said it's not working but when I checked it out it was working. Maybe he should try another seller. This guy started begging me saying that I should pity him that his uncle wants to kick him out of the house, I told him Okay but he would have to pay the full payment. He said he doesn't have enough money, if you see the way this guy was begging me like he wants to die. So I pitied him and told him to come and take the laptop, that I just want to get it off my mind. So he said he would send his cousin to inspect the laptop, I was happy because now a third person can verify.

His cousin came inspected the laptop and verified it to be charging and working perfectly. Then this guy did a transfer to me that wasn't the amount we agreed upon AGAIN, I asked him why? He said his cousin would drop his iPhone 6 which was icloud locked and has a spoilt screen which is virtually useless. After both pleaded with me for a long time I agreed to take the phone. In my mind this guy just wants to scam me by giving me a useless phone but his cousin told me where he stays and begged me that if the buyer doesn't pay that he will pay the money. So I let the cousin go with the laptop while I kept the iPhone 6.

Part3:

After a few days this guy called me again and I told him bro you've defaulted on the payment and I don't have need for this iphone 6, he said the laptop is not working that he needs his cousins phone. I got furious and started shouting and the him, he threatened me severally with things like " I be warri boy o" so I blocked him on whatsapp and stopped picking his calls. He would call me with other numbers and I when I notice it's him, I'll tell him to give me my money and take his unless phone.

His cousin called me and asked me for the battery the laptop came with which I changed earlier with amother follow come battery. I told him that I am not under any obligation to give it to them but that if they paid me completely I'll give it to them, the cousin came took his phone and gave me my balance and I gave him the battery.

It's been like 2 to 3 weeks and I woke up this morning with his Guy sending me a text message " You are a fraudster"

And if buyer choose to return a product sellers should refund within a reasonable amount of time

Lets say 3 days return policy after buyer receives item, if item is not as discribe

I insist Deal hunters should receive their deals b4 they make sales, so they can actually assess the true state of the product

Or sell links to those who feel they need it cheap, but then when u buy link, u should be responsible for any deal that didn't turn out right, not the deal hunter

In all! sellers should be truthful with the state of an item, and buyers should not expect 100% functionality of a used item

The related pick up thread should stay, in the mist of all the bad deals good ones are taking place too

I think most of what they are saying is that this thread drives down the prices of phones that are already in Nigeria.

I am very sure what lead to this is not about organization of the thread, insincerity or fraud but because he is getting low ball offers on items he couldn't sell as TLC that are now in Nigeria because of the existence of this thread.

This is business though, learn from people who are successful at it because even if they change the rules those people will still be the ones who are successful because they learn to adapt.
