The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will now allow women to apply for military service in a historic move. The decision comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 social program launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

“I was pressured by the army to resign; I did so in order to avoid conflict and bloodshed in my country. I was worried because it had been brought to my attention that people had been intimidated, illegally seized, attacked, homes had been raided at gunpoint and destroyed, and weapons confiscated from other state security agencies,” Mugabe said.

“The army had been unconstitutionally deployed without permission of the commander-in-chief and soldiers continue to be used in this operation. So from a constitutional point of view, he (Mnangagwa) is there unconstitutionally.

“Mnangagwa is in power illegally, yet some of his officials dare call me a dictator. What dictator?

Ethiopia announced a state of emergency on Friday, the day after the prime minister’s resignation, as pressure mounted on the country’s ruling coalition.

The coalition decided emergency rule was “vital to safeguarding the constitutional order”, state-run Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation said. The announcement gave no further details but the defence minister was expected to hold a news conference on Saturday morning.
Ethiopia only fully lifted its last state of emergency in August following months of curfews, restrictions on movement and the detention of 29,000 people.

Those measures followed two years of anti-government protests in which security forces killed hundreds of people in Amhara and Oromiya, the nation’s two most populous provinces.

The imposition of a new state of emergency may indicate that Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn’s resignation on Thursday was the result of tensions among the four parties in the ruling coalition.

Jacob Zuma, South Africa’s embattled and controversial president, has announced his resignation in a televised address to the nation.

“I have to come to decision to resign with immediate effect,” he said on Wednesday in Pretoria.

Zuma’s resignation followed weeks of intense public pressure to step down amid longstanding corruption allegations.

The ruling African National Congress (ANC) formally asked Zuma, 75, to resign on Tuesday. He initially refused, saying he did not understand why he was being told to step down.

The party later announced plans to hold a no-confidence vote against him on Thursday in parliament.

And when Jack Kirby laid out the simple black spandex and barely noticeable feline ears of T’Challa — better known as Black Panther — yet another icon was born. Other artists followed in his footsteps and gradually built a visual encyclopedia of Black Panther supporting characters, and now, well over a dozen of them are making the leap to the big screen. With Black Panther on the way, we’ve decided to show how far the king of Wakanda and his cohort have come by comparing their first visual iterations to the actors playing them in the film.

Of all the characters in Black Panther, Ayo is the newest. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Brian Stelfreeze conceived of her for the pages of their run with T’Challa but, oddly enough, she first appeared in an issue of a comic called Ultimates a few weeks prior to the beginning of that run. Therefore, online outlets mistakenly attribute her creation to Ultimates team Al Ewing and Kenneth Rocafort, who are both terrific, but not the ones who designed this top-flight member of the Dora Milaje. We’ve broken our rules slightly by not using an image from her very first appearance, but rather the first time she shows up at the pen of her visual creator.
