’40-year-old’ now president of Nigerian students

September 15 2014

The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) has elected Tijani Usman Shehu as its new president, amid chaos and violence that characterised its convention at Delta State University, Abraka, Delta state. Shehu is said to have had well over 160 votes from 239 eligible voters present.

Shehu is reported to be a student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was also an officer of the association in the 1990s.

Many resisted his participation in the election for studentship and age reason, but his fans opposed, arguing that only his parents could tell his true age.

“I know many are crying wolf over his age and NANS’ normal cry of non-studentship,” a fan of his wrote on Facebook.

“But if truly he was not a student, then the CPC or the convention chairman was in a good position to pronounce it and disqualify him.

But since the reverse is the case, then Tijani Usman is a student and nobody should tell me his age except his parents.” A source who was at the convention in Asaba told TheCable that the convention was brought to an abrupt end with the election of just four office holders.

“They brought the convention to an abrupt end when they had voted into their four key offices; the president, senate president, treasurer and ex-officio II,” he said. Many of those who attended the convention had expressed fears that the new NANS would be an appendage of the People Democratic Party (PDP), as the new president is a staunch supporter of the party.

“That’s not hidden,” a top NANS figure told TheCable. “All I see here is continuity, as the previous president, Yinka Gbadebo (aka Ayefelle), a student representative of the just-concluded national confab was in support of the president-elect and both of them support Team Jonathan 2015″

Roys Ochais, the newly-elected senate president whose university could not be confirmed also said to be close 40 years of age. Many student-senators decried the hands of political parties in the running of the NAN elections. “Most senators (student union presidents) are selling their tags to stand by who they will vote for” an aspirant told TheCable.

“It is an irony that the people who say Buhari is too old for to be president in 2015 will elect a 40-year-old as NANS president.”

NANS backs Jonathan for President

February 26, 2015

ABUJA—National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Thursday endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their preferred candidate for the March 28 presidential election.

The National President of NANS, Comrade Tijani Usman made the confirmation at a one-day National Student’s Association Rally in Abuja. Usman said that the decision to back President Jonathan was borne out of the conviction of the President’s achievements that touched on the lives of the students and youths of the country.

He said: ‘’We are supporting President Jonathan because he is the first president ever to have released about N200 billion at a one full swoop to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU, for the overall uplifting and development of the universities. He similarly established more than 24 new universities across the country. He has also set up 124 Almajiri schools for our brothers in the northern part of country.”

Less than a week after he endorsed GEJ, the 40-year-old NANS president is expelled for fraud

March 2, 2015

https://www.thescoopng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/NANS.jpg

It’s not everyday you find a 40-year-old leading a union comprising of undergraduates, unless – of course – you are in Nigeria.

Just last Thursday, as president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), 40-year-old Tijani Usman, endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for reelection as president. The endorsement generated ripples across several NANS chapters across the country including in Lagos and Borno.

On Monday, Usman was shown the red card by the National Joint Campus Committee (NJCC), which is the legislative body of the union.

The NJCC led by Yakubu Abdullai, chairman, and Magnus Okosisi, secretary, said that Usman is guilty of fraud and impersonation. It urged all parastatals to disregard Shehu and his executive members.

In a statement, the NJCC said:

“NANS hereby expels Tijani Usman and his executive members, and warns them to stop parading themselves as NANS executives so as to avoid the wrath on Nigerian students whom they terribly betrayed on several occasions,” read a statement signed by Abdullai and Okosisi.

“This has become necessary in view of the pains inflicted on the union as a result of the misinformation on Asaba election and blatant disregard of the position of Nigerian students on national issues.

“NANS calls on agencies, ministries, state governments and foreign missions to stop dealing with Tijani Usman and his executives. They have been an embarrassment to NANS. “We thank Nigerians for their support and understanding on issues that concern students and we will replicate such gesture by presenting credible and acceptable leadership that will champion the overall interest of NANS.”

Me, Fani-Kayode Segun Adeniyi and Thisday- A Tale of Unexpected Tragedies; One Coincidence Too Many

Hello Thisday group,

Great job on your site, constantly updating people like us who have our dear country's interest at heart even from faraway lands.

I had indicated interest in revealing certain topical issues that our worth critical media interest on your dailies. I will ultimately make these revelations also in the international media but first must respect the adage that 'charity begins at home' and for the special reason of the fact that THISDAY was the first media, through its extensive investigative journalism to capture some of the incidents that involve the person I will be making expositions about.

INTRODUCTION:

My name is Enobong R. Umohette, I was the premier "C.S.O" assigned from the State Security Services (SSS) to 'deacon'? Femi Fani-Kaoyde from 4th April, 2003 to 21st November 2003. As you would recall, the afforestated period preceded even his first appointment as Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Affairs.

I have a history with the SSS and have tremendous respect for my former employer and despite the fact that my exit from the service was cloaked in a huge controversial garb; particularly on backbone of the fact that I carried such damning secrets about Femi Fani-Kayode who was then S.A to the President on Media and Public Affairs, I have no beefs with the SSS. However, I am 100% certain that in a hasty response/ counter attack to my revelation in the media, the SSS would no doubt join issues with me on the assumption that I can de discredited (as they assumed, when the decision to end my stint in the service was hatched) Well, when/if the time comes, I will surprise even the loquacious Femi Fani-Kayode with documentary proof to support every fact I shall reveal.

FIRST REQUEST:

I have a registered log-in name ( boxer) on your on-line daily and make regular contributions by way of comments on your website. I have sought for a particular Article published by your editor (Mr Segun Adeniyi) in 2004; it was a backpage story titled ASO ROCK ANONYMOUS CALLER. I would be glad if that very article is retrieved from your archive in hard copy, scanned and sent to me via email. I respectfully believe that it should not too much of a trouble to undertake for 'a source' as you may have me called.

THE REVELATION IN PERSPECTIVE:

1. The widely reported Assassination attempt on Femi Fani-Kayode of March 2003; Fact or Fiction?

2. The personal security concerns /fears of Femi Fani-Kayode: Is it founded or is it paranoia?

3. What is the personality of Femi Fani-Kayode within his environs where his constant fear of insecurity has severally emanated from?

4. The infamous incident reported in your Thursday 10th November , 2003 (page 56) edition which was a story about Femi Fani-Kayode on 'ABUSE OF POWER': WHAT IS THE TRUTH BEHIND THAT INCIDENT?

5. Ironically, I was physically present at the Presidential Villa Aso Rock on the same day that article was published while accompanying Femi Fani-Kayode to a meeting between The Board of THISDAY and the President. In the course of my revelations, I will pertinently answer this poser; WHAT ASSIGNMENT/ MISSION was I to undertake for my then principal Femi Fani-Kayode on that particular trip to the Presidential Villa? WAS IT ONLY TO PROVIDE PROTECTIVE SECURITY?

6. Femi Fani-Kayode's response by letter dated 11th November, 2003, signed by one T. Oladimeji. (was there any such T. Oladimeji in the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public affairs?) WHAT ARE THE FACTS BEHIND THE STATEMENTS MADE IN THAT RESPONSE?

7. What were the circumstances surrounding and compelling the LETTER OF APOLOGY/UNDERTAKING written by Mr Nnamdi Uyanna (the victim in that saga) as attached in that response?

8. Are there any isolated incidences where Femi Fani-Kayode has lied to security agencies and law enforcement to achieve sinister aims or to mislead?

9. Has Femi Fani-Kayode directly or indirectly caused for threat to the lives of citizens in the country?

10. If (9) above is in the affirmative, to what extent have these threats been and to what magnitude had/has he Femi Fani-Kayode gone to actualise them?

11. WHO WAS THE FAMOUS ASO ROCK ANONYMOUS CALLER with GSM No. 08034091519? (Probably now defunct or since rested)

12. What was/is her connection and relationship to Femi Fani-Kayode?

13. Can she be identified even through the now rested number? or by other means?

14. Are there any isolated incidences that can establish that the female character in that episode has been involved in several acts of threatening citizens or promoting and inflicting persecution on citizens?

15. THE AIRPORT IMBROGLIO INVLOVING FEMI FANI KAYODE AS MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM A FEW MONTHS AGO ON AN ABUJA BOUND VIRGIN NIGERIA FLIGHT: what was the probable cause of that conflict which led to the 45 min delay of that flight, which involved Femi Fani-Kayode and his security envoy.

16. What was my experience with Femi Fani-Kayode on the issue of AIRPORT SECURITY SCREENING?

17. This widely media reported bomb scare at the Lagos Ikeja Airport, as announced by Femi Fani-Kayode the Minister for Aviation; TRUTH OR FICTION?

18. What reason(s) should the public have to BELIEVE OR DISCREDIT the announcement of the alleged 'bomb scare' by Femi Fani-Kayode?

19. With the laudable anti-corruption crusade by President Obasanjo, has Femi Fani-Kayode NEVER diverted public funds/tax payers monies? and if indeed he has, is there any documentary proof to establish same?

SUMMARY:

I will take you into a world of revelation. A sphere warped in suspense, intrigue, excitement and horror. I will lead your noses to dig deeper than law enforcement and will ignite your investigative claws to scratch for facts faster than security agencies and at the end of the day, you will have names, dates, venues, events, incidences, documents, pictures and a tale that will espouse that Femi Fani-Kayode has NO CREDIBILITY WHATSOEVER and has committed grave crimes against humanity bordering on:

(A) TORTURE

(B) FALSE IMPRISONMENT

(C) SEXUAL ASSAULT AND HARRASSMENT

(D) AGGRAVATED PHYSICAL ASSAULT

(E) OBNOXIOUS USE OF SECURITY APPARATUS FOR HARRASSMENT OF CITIZENS

(F) CORRUPTION AND FRAUD

(G) SOLICTING FOR MURDER

The SSS like its counterparts the world over, represent the 'SECRET SERVICE' of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and are statutorily empowered to Protect its employer the PRESIDENCY and thus are not obligated to have discovered (if they since hadn't already) all the above crimes committed by Femi Fani-Kayode for PUBLIC INTEREST. However as the revelations will unfold in torrents, I will clearly and decisively DEMYSTIFY THE CONCEPT of SUSPICION AND ASPERSION CAST ON THE STATE, as a usual 'public enemy numero uno' and the 'usual suspect' in any HIGH PROFILE YET SOPHISTICATED MURDER/ASSASSINATION in Nigeria.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in its current dispensation in my opinion HAS NEVER DIRECTED THE KILLING OF ANY CITIZEN WHETHER UNLAWFULLY OR CLANDESTINELY, but I can confidently assert that these sophisticated high profile assassinations/killings can only be executed by trained individuals (security agents) who have the technical prowess and sophistry to do so and in this case, from my experience, these security agents constitute the APPARATUS OF STATE which have been deployed to protect individuals whom the state deems fit or so desires to protect.

Some of these security agents who have been charged to protect an elite few, have been lured, sponsored and equipped by their principals through soliciting for murder to kill and when they do, by virtue of their skills; it is impossible for govt to trace.

I base my assertions through my experience as a security detail assigned to Femi Fani-Kayode and if my postulations are taken seriously, what you will discover will blow your minds and indeed the minds of many, who were nearly at the end of 'an assassins barrel'. Some of whom are in high places and never knew how close they came to death. Some of whom are in the media, just doing what they objectively do. Some of whom have been exiled to oblivion on account of being hounded by security agencies for crimes they NEVER COMMITTED.

These are the questions I shall answer when the revelation starts and even though I have been a victim of the same cycle of threat and persecution not only for my beliefs, principles and outright refusal to sell my conscience for pecuniary gains, I will speak up and speak very loudly to expose these numerous crimes, for the vindication of the many victims who have suffered untold hardship and persecution and whose scars can only be healed when the truth comes out in a big bang.

I am now in a society that has tremendous respect for the rights of an individual and have bided my time to come out in open.

For the strength of my beliefs, I have no need to hide nor harbor fear of further persecution, as I know someday, the perpetrators of INHUMAN CRIMES will surely pay and FREEDOM AND LIBERTY is worth NON VIOLENTLY RISKING LIFE FOR.

Should you have any questions arising from the aforementioned, my number is 1-414-795-4293.

Yours respectfully

Enobong R. Umohette

The police left a while back and are now puzzled because the staff staying in the apartment have been fighting themselves over the property within the house....obviously they want to beat each other to selling things in the house.
Jim even tampered with the NEPA prepaid metre in order not to pay...they enjoyed NEPA free for quite a while.

Edo APC Hails State CAN BOSS For Rejecting Jonathan’s Bribe

March 2nd, 2015

BY CHUKS EHIRIM – The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Edo State Branch, Bishop Peter O.J Imasuen, for rejecting the four million Naira given to him from the seven billion Naira bribe President Goodluck Jonathan dished out to Christian leaders in the Country, to buy their support in this month’s rescheduled Presidential election.

In a press statement issued by the Edo State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Godwin Erhahon and made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, APC said it “can now reveal authoritatively that Bishop Imasuen was one of the few State Chairmen of CAN who were Godly and patriotic enough to reject the bribe which was given to Christian leaders to campaign for President Jonathan and condemn APC Presidential Candidate, General Mohammadu Buhari”.

He added that “CAN inside sources confirmed to APC at the weekend in Benin City, the Edo State Capital, that over four hundred pastors in Edo State, majority of whom are of the Pentecostal churches, shared from the bribe with some of them getting between five hundred thousand and fifty thousand naira each”.

Erhahon posited further, that “a few others from the so- called super churches received as much as two million naira each because they claimed that their churches have more members.

“The sources further revealed that the leader of the CAN national body alone took three billion naira and left the balance four billion for three of his colleagues in the unholy deal to administer as they wished but with the instruction that pastors of Catholic churches be left out.

“Some of the Bishops who were said to be dissatisfied with the greedy manner of their boss were said to have wondered aloud whether their “oga” was aiming at buying another aircraft. One of the aggrieved female Christian leaders who pleaded for her name not to be mentioned told APC that Christian Association of Nigeria has been turned to Mammon Association of Nigeria with priests receiving bribes to preach falsehood and hatred at the pulpit, thus misleading their congregation against God and man.

“She advised all churches whose pastors preached openly against Mohammadu Buhari to demand their share of the bribe from their pastors as they were paid handsomely to vilify General Buhari. Quoting from 1 Cor 6:9, she reminded those who received the bribe to preach hate sermon against General Buhari that both the greedy and the slanderers will not inherit the kingdom of God and therefore advised their congregation to disown those pastors who worship mammon in the house of God.

“Another reliable source further revealed that seeing how the popularity of President Jonathan has dimmed further after the shift of the election date from February 14 till March 28, the ring leader of the corrupt pastors is already finding ways to make peace with General Buhari ahead of the election. APC commends Bishop Imasuen for upholding the teaching of Christ and boosting the integrity of the Edo man”, Erhahon concluded.

I am very surprised that the yorubas are not shouting on top of their voices for buhari to produce his original WASC or at least a certified-true-copy. These same yorubas were shouting at the top of their voices when Stella Odua was minister of Aviation and almost caused an earthquake in this country with their shouting. They were on the dailies, on radio, Nairaland and other social network demanding thorough probe and for Stella Odua to be removed from office.

How come these same yorubas are not shouting on top of their voices and raising hell for buhari to produce his WASC which he swore that he has? Let us assume that buhari actually got his WASC and somehow lost it maybe when handing it over to the military or any other way, fine and accepted. Now Cambridge has come out boldly to say that they will respond to this issue only at the request of buhari. Why is it that the yorubas that were shouting Stella must go not also shouting that buhari should contact Cambridge and clear the air once and for all especially as he is gunning for the highest office in the land?

Buhari even went to the UK recently to address a press conference, why did the yorubas not shout and ask him to stop by at Cambridge and collect at least a certified-true-copy of his WASC? Why?

This thread is not about whether buhari has his WASC or not but to show the whole world the double standard of the yoruba in this country. If buhari had been an Igbo man, I can bet my last naira that the yorubas would have brought down heaven shouting 'Where is your WASC!' Alas, they are shouting 'Sai buhari' not because they love buhari but because of the their son Osibanjo.

yorubas claim to be sophisticated but at the end of the day, what matters to them is "oma wa ni." Whatever the hell that means.

These yorubas shouting "Buhari, Buhari" voted massively for Obasanjo their son when he contested against the same Buhari who they now call the Messiah. Pray tell, are these yorubas saying that Obasanjo is a better choice to Buhari? If they see Obasanjo as better than Buhari how is it that Buhari has suddenly become the best man to rule Nigeria? If Obasanjo is considered better than Buhari then Buhari is not worth it. embarassed embarassed

We all know they voted massively for Obasanjo because he is their son and nothing more. That is how our self-acclaimed sophisticated yorubas reason and behave.

Sophisticated my foot!

Has Cambrige come out to refute the claims made by Buhari's school?

Kaduna supporters dump Jonathan, merge Yero with Buhari posters

Mar 2, 2015

https://nationalmirroronline.net/new/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Yero.jpg

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State have dumped President Goodluck Jonathan and merged the party’s governorship candidate, Governor Mukhtar Yero’s posters with All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, in the state.

National Mirror gathered that Yero’s supporters have commenced secret discussion with APC chieftains in the state with a promise to deliver their votes to Buhari in the March 28 presidential poll, while APC supporters should vote for PDP guber candidate, Yero.

However, APC governorship candidate in the state, Nasir el-Rufai, has warned Yero to stay away from Buhari’s posters, saying: “Conscious of their unpopularity, the PDP is now displaying posters of Yero that feature APC presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. It is an admission that PDP’s presidential candidate is not sellable to the electorate, and also demonstrates PDP’s affinity for deception. In the said posters being paraded in the said axis, Yero is paired with Buhari while Mallam el- Rufai is axed with red ink.”

A statement signed by el-Rufai’s campaign spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said the security agents last Friday night in Zaria and Sabon Gari local government areas, supervised and protected PDP hoodlums as they destroyed billboards and posters of el-Rufai.

“They destroyed all visible campaign materials and replaced them with Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, the incumbent governor. This act of arson comes ahead of the governor’s rally on Saturday in the ancient city.”

The statement reads in part: “Zaria axis is an APC stronghold, as demonstrated by the massive rallies the party held in Sabon-Gari and Zaria local governments.

El-Rufai added: “Since the campaign for the 2015 elections started, Yero has been preaching intolerance and indulging in violence. At the launch of his campaign on January 12, he announced that he had powers to stop el-Rufai from entering Kaduna or leaving his house, which he also threatened to demolish. The audio recording of that statement has gone viral.

“Again, the PDP government in Kaduna State and their commissioned campaigners are currently inciting citizens of the state on religious and ethnic lines against the candidature of both Buhari and el-Rufai. They are also engaging in series of mudslinging aimed at branding APC and its candidates as violenceoriented personalities. They are currently circulating leaflets branding Buhari as hater of Christians along with el-Rufai, thus manipulating the citizenry.

“We will continue to play issue-based politics despite all deliberate attempts and mischief to taint our image and popularity before the good people of Kaduna State. Neither the tonnes of illicit money they are spreading to bribe voters nor the violent actions designed to intimidate and frighten citizens, can save PDP from the coming electoral humiliation in Kaduna State.”

El-Rufai added: “The people of Kaduna State are clearly tired of an incompetent, wasteful government that has proved incapable of leading, performing or delivering public services.”

The state’s PDP chairman, A.G. Haruna, and the party’s public relations officer did not answer their calls.

Reps to probe NNPC over missing $14.9bn profi t from LNG

Mar 2, 2015

Pass law to treat gunshot victims without police report

House of Representatives has concluded arrangement to commence investigation of the $14.9bn (N3trn) profit from the Liquified Natural Gas paid to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC.

The House is seeking to know what happened to the funds in question, which represented dividends accruing from the sale of liquified gas from 2004 to 2014 and which the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Company, NLNG, said it has paid to NNPC.

Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, made the disclosure at the weekend.

He said the committee will move a motion at plenary tomorrow to compel NNPC to bring relevant documents.

It was reliably gathered that the NNPC in a swift move to stop the House from going ahead with the probe ordered its lawyer, Mike Ozekhome & Co., to write the committee last Friday.

Its major plank of argument was that the committee had no right to request for the LNG accounts.

Olamilekan-Adeola said: “We invited the LNG people to appear before the Committee on Public Accounts.

“They came and told us that Federal Government has 51 per cent holding in LNG, while 41 per cent is owned by Shell and other private sectors.

“Yes, if we have 51 per cent, how much of these funds have returned to the Federal Government as dividend? They said they have it and between 2004 and 2014 they’ve remitted it to NNPC coffers in form of dividends.

“We wrote to NNPC asking for an evidence for the sources of revenue, the bank statements, and if there is any expenditure for that account and any other item they can furnish us with.

“Just this afternoon (last Friday), we received a letter from their lawyer, Mike Ozekhome & Co., quoting section 88 and other relevant sections of the constitution as to why they cannot and will not come before the committee with these particular documents.”

The chairman explained further that Ozekhome’s chamber was a private law firm and does not represent the law courts, and that NNPC’s action shows “that there is more to what we’re seeing.”

He further stated that the committee made a simple request on transactions that concerns the generality of Nigerians, “And the next line of action is to go to your lawyer to start writing us and from there move to court to seek injunction preventing us from requesting for that document.

“This tells you the extent to which they have used the judiciary to stall a lot of investigations we are carrying out as a House.

“And on Tuesday, I want to come by a motion of urgent national importance, so that the House can know what is in the offing as far as LNG is concerned,” he added.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has passed the Bill for an Act to Make Provisions for the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims for Gunshot and Other Matters Connected Therewith.

The Bill, sponsored by Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, was passed at the Committee of the Whole at the weekend.

If the Senate concurs with the law as passed by the House of Representatives, it would mean that hospitals can treat victims of gunshots without necessarily getting police report.

Hon. Onyejeocha, while explaining the importance of the law, stated that the issue of conditional access to medication by victims of gunshots in Nigeria had generated thorny arguments among scholars, policy makers, medical practitioners and the general public.

“The central thesis of the argument from all sides revolves around the issue of saving lives vi’s-avis the provision of the extant law,” she said.

The lawmaker noted that the misinterpretation of the provision of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act, Cap 398 of 1984 has been largely responsible for the refusal of medical practitioners to attend to gunshot victims which often time leads to loss of innocent lives.

She said that the bill would among others guarantee unrestricted access to medical services by victims of gunshots as well as further strengthens legal provisions and guarantee peoples’ fundamental rights to life and dignity of their persons.

“Despite the Act providing that it shall be the duty of any person, hospital or clinic that admits, treats or administers drug to any person suspected of having bullet wounds to immediately report the matter to the police, medical institutions in Nigeria have severally refused to attend to victims of gunshot requesting such victims to produce police report.

“The refusal of hospitals and other medical facilities to attend to gunshot victims amounts to a negation of the fundamental human rights of those victims to life as enshrined in the relevant sections of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she submitted.

She explained that if law is assented to, it would make it mandatory for medical facilities to attend to individuals with such injuries without recourse to police report or approval for the purpose of saving lives and forestalling avoidable deaths –whilst making immediate notification to the police regarding such cases.

No real surprises here. Anyone recall this earlier debate about extra-budgetary spending? grin

KenGali: For claiming the price of the vehicles were inflated, I think Falana is a Liar. That is a new height for him, making unverified statements for mob action. Unbecoming of a lawyer.
Last I checked,
He does not transact in cars
Nor does he manufacture anyone.
Nor is he a procurement expert.

The only issue here is that it seems NCAA did not follow their Budget as they claimed. This has nothing to do with the Minister of Avaition.
You clearly have not been following events at close quarters. How can Falana be accused of lying about something Maduka has already admitted to doing?

Coscharis, represented by the company’s Chairman Mr Cosmos Maduka, alleged that the NCAA demanded an increase in the prices of the controversial vehicles over what the company had submitted earlier.

“NCAA told us that the initial price is not proper,” Maduka, said.

He also said the cars were sold to NCAA as used vehicles following the delay encountered when the company sought clearance from the office of the NSA.
PM News

While the committee insisted that the current price of the vehicle shouldn’t have ordinarily exceeded 50 million Naira each, Coscharis out rightly rejected it, saying it that could never be the case with BMW B 7 series anywhere in the world.

But in a bid to state the fact, Coscharis revealed that the NCAA demanded a jerk up of the prices of the controversial vehicles from what the company had submitted earlier.

According to the Chairman of the company, Mr. Cosmos Maduka “NCAA told us that the initial price is not proper”.

The hearing further revealed that the controversial cars were originally purchased on behalf of the Lagos State Government for the 2012 18th National Sports Festival and later sold to NCAA

So local tv station = Kemi Fadojutimi All eyes on Africa television programme?

Is this a Yoruba or Hausa translation of the English language?
You do not want to start using indecorous language with me. It won't end well if we go down that road.

what on earth are you talking about?? What fact? From where?

Ok lets start again

What time in the video did Shehu make mention of the All eyes on Africa TV programme

I found myself having to read alot more into this situation that I would have liked.

The statement was issued to Thisday - the only mention of the tv programme was made by FFK in the THisday article reporting on it. .

This is exactly where other newspapers will have gotten quotes from the statement - anything further to what was posted in Thisday is clearly speculation.

Why haven't we even seen an exact copy of the email and statement sent to Thisday self? This would have cleared the issue up immediately.
Shehu mentioned a local TV station, when he provided a time-line of activity in the UK.
Must everything be broken down for you in a piece-meal fashion?

Remember you asked me for proof the last time we had this discussion... before falling back on pedantry, which I really had little regard for.
I simply present the facts and move on. I leave it up to others to get emotionally tied up and bent out of shape.

The press release didn't mention the all eyes on Africa show or Kemi Fadojuti that was speculation from the newspapers as were the photographs. All a result of the shoddy state of journalism in Nigeria.

What will be the purpose of lying about something so trivial when he did indeed have a meeting with Tony Blair and spoke at Chatham house. Activities we can all now confirm happened as we were able to witness ourselves the fact that he's not in hospital?

When are they going to quit flogging his dead horse?
What you have demonstrated here is the same cognitive dissonance one gets from some of the more virulent TANoids.
It amounts to an unwillingness to conduct a fact based debate.

Garba Shehu (in his own words): ""...pictures don't lie. From yesterday, we had pictures of General Buhari at the immigration in London on his feet. And thereafter we have had pictures...he met ex-prime minister Blair. After that ...before that, he had had an interview with a local television station and had met Nigerians in the diaspora in the UK..."

“The voter has a choice to make”: GMB spokesman,Garba Shehu, responds to misleading photo controversy

February 25, 2015

https://www.thescoopng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Garba-Shehu.jpg

On Saturday, February 21, 2015, Garba Shehu, the director of media and publicity of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Council sent out a press statement which unknown to him at the time, would change the conversation in the coming week. And not in a positive way for his candidate.

In the statement which was titled, ‘Buhari to speak at Chatam House on Thursday, February 26,’ Shehu said, “as part of his ongoing engagement in the United Kingdom, General Buhari had an interview yesterday with a local medium, the ‘All Eyes on Africa TV show’ with Kemi Fajodutimi and met with Tony Blair on Saturday, February 21 morning.”

In the press statement, Shehu attached three photos of Buhari and Fadojutimi, and while labelling the photos, he claimed once again that they were taken “during Buhari’s working visit to the United Kingdom on Friday, 20 February 2015.”

Shehu and the APC presidential media office did not anticipate the fact that even though most people will look at the photos and accept them as circulated and labelled, there will be others who will take a more clinical look.

One such person who critically examined the photos was the controversial PDP sympathiser, Mukhtar Alex Dan’Iyan (@MrAyeDee on Twitter).

In a series of tweets, Dan’Iyan – who has been known to mislead as well – pointed out with pictorial evidence that the photo was actually taken at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, and not in the United Kingdom as claimed by Shehu.

Then, to prove a point, the governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose, who has been a thorn in the APC flesh throughout this campaign season visited the hotel suite were the interview held. Fayose took photos while seated on the same spot as Buhari, and with the furniture arranged in the same way as the Buhari interview. The story took a life of its own from that point.

Guardian newspaper which had used the photo on its Sunday cover put out a statement next day regretting the error. While the paper did not mention that the error was due to the misleading statement from Shehu, an editor with the paper, Tope Templer Olaiya, said on Twitter that rather than blaming the paper, Nigerians should “blame Garba Shehu’s sloppiness who sent out the picture with accompanying press statement.”

The ScoopNG reached out to Shehu for clarification on the misleading photographs and statement but he was unwilling to dwell on the mater.

“We’re not dwelling on that issue,” he said. “We want to use all our time to see how discussions can be advanced on the issues of insecurity, corruption, mismanagement and unemployment,” he said.

He dismissed the photo controversy as “irrelevant” in the face of weightier issues like insecurity.

Asked whether he does not worry about the fact that the controversy will rub off negatively on the APC candidate as undecided voters will believe that the party is misleading Nigerians on the true state of Buhari’s health and his foreign travel, Shehu said that the decision is that of the voters to make.

“The voter has a decision to make, whether the issue of photograph is more important to him than the issue of large scale insecurity. The media and the voter have a choice to make,” Shehu said.

Efforts by The ScoopNG to get the reaction of the spokesman to the Goodluck Jonathan campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, have not been successful as calls and text messages sent to his telephone lines have gone unanswered.

Another post...

queensmith:
So what you are saying is that there is indeed no evidence of Shehu making those statements? On the whole of this WWW?

We can conclude that he didn't then. Like a sensible being would.

Also I've read from many of the more reliable Nigerian publications the statement issued by the campaign spokesperson and the only mention of Kemi Fadojuti is those made by Femi Fani Kayode and Fayose.

No mention of any of this on APCS website or twitter feeds?
Phew! Found it.

Like I said earlier, I don't make light of issues like this.
