Despite the misgivings I have had about the DSS in recent years, I don't agree that supplanting constitutional roles with untried and untested "alternatives" is the way forward here.

You see, I have no history of cloning people neither do I have any history of being an associate of clones. You story would have "made" meaning if the said Spa wasn't founded on that said Date. I have no business with her linkedin activity or whether she buys followers or not. In fact, may it never be well with me if I "fake" her profile on linkein and may you be forgiven if your allegations are false. I reiterate that her Spa was established in July 1995 and that is the subject. I don't care about who buys or who sells linkein profile. By the way, what is the use of "buying" and creating fake profile when the purpose is to establish time of establishment of Aisha's spa and not to discuss her Linkedin activities? Have you bothered to confirm from her? Go confirm FIRST whether or not she established on that said date.

Do you think you are addressing one of the errands boys you summon, after posting some drivel in support of your current agenda?
You must be completely off your rockers!

I pick and choose what I respond to. And in this instance, it is enough to show that someone might have created a fake profile - in order to assassinate the character of another. It is you who asserts otherwise, who must provide veritable proof!

Yes a fake linkedln page can have as many followers as possible since it's not unexpected to expect clowns that will solicit for favours to get linked up to her so they can send cv's or what not.
It's like saying why would a fake FB account have tons of friends.

The onus is on you to provide evidence that she opened the spa at your speculated date AND that the SPA was opened with proceeds from Buhari's embezzled funds as insinuated by you

He is clearly not an exposed as he thinks he is.
That inordinate pride which now marks him out as an ethnic jingoist, would ultimately prove to be his undoing.

Ex- Borno Governor, Modu Sheriff, hands himself in to EFCC

June 3, 2015

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained a former Governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff, over allegations of corruption.

Mr. Sheriff is said to have voluntarily handed himself in Wednesday afternoon.

The spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Mr. Sheriff was currently being held by the commission.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the anti-graft agency had on April 23, moved to declare Mr. Sheriff wanted when he failed to honour its invitations for questioning.

The former governor, was who summoned by the commission to appear, damned the invitation and stayed away.

Although the specific allegations against the former governor are unclear at this time, sources said the investigation is related to allegations that parts of the N300billion his administration received from the Federation Account between 2003 and 2011 were not judiciously spent.

The investigation began in 2012 and had been ongoing ever since, a source said.

Mr. Sheriff governed Borno State on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party.

Before then, he was a senator between 1999 and 2003 on the ticket of the same party.

He was a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, before he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Elsewhere,

A Roll-call of Nigerian Clients

French authorities have so far linked 201 individual and corporate HSBC clients with Nigeria – either nationals or having business interests in the oil-rich West African country. However the sorting procedure might be faulty and some of those listed may end up having nothing to do with Nigeria.

Top on the list of Nigerians whose names appeared on the file is Africa’s richest industrialist, Aliko Dangote.

Another Nigerian businessman and owner of mobile telecom company, Globacom, Mike Adenuga, also appears on the files.

Vikky Preye Mark, estranged wife of Nigeria’s Senate President, David Mark, was also listed.

Many of the accounts date back to the 1990s and up to 2005/2006, when the data were stolen by a former staff of HSBC, Hervé Falcian.
According to details pieced together by the ICIJ, HSBC fashioned a series of layers of privacy schemes to ensure the worst of criminals and characters were protected.

INVESTIGATION: David Mark’s wife, Dangote, Adenuga, others named in #SwissLeaks as operators of secret foreign accounts -- http://www.premiumtimesng.com/investigationspecial-reports/177124-investigation-david-marks-wife-dangote-adenuga-others-named-in-swissleaks-as-operators-of-secret-foreign-accounts.html
Politics / Re: David Mark: I Joined Politics To Serve God And Humanity by TheOtherview: 4:33pm On Jun 03, 2015
With God all things are possible.

A corrupt Life:

The first of the deals that catapulted David Mark into questionable wealth came from a $77 million “telecommunications deal” which he brokered while he was Communications Minister under General Babangida. The gist was that Mark procured aircrafts for the nation’s telephone company- NITEL- at highly inflated prices. Mark made an instant profit of $70 million which he shared with President Ibrahim Babangida in accounts opened in Jersey and Cayman Islands. From this single deal, David Mark had set aside the sum of £6 million in a “trust” for his children as well as invested in real estate for his numerous wives and children in the UK and Ireland. In a remarkable, if curious, decision, Mark also invested the sum of £5.9 pounds in the 18-hole St. Margaret’s Golf Club near Dublin, just a five- minute drive from the International Airport in Dublin, Ireland and also in an unnamed business in Northern Ireland which officially employed him while he was in the UK on exile.

He also bought a private house worth £2.5 million pounds on Kingston upon the Thames River in London.

In addition, David Mark hired a personal assistant in England to help manage his businesses in London and Ireland. He lived a life of legendary luxury, arranging for most of his kids to be born in the UK, Switzerland and other Western European nations. From kindergarten to college, most of his children also attended schools in Europe or in some of England’s highbrow institutions of learning.
According to records available to Saharareporters, David Mark has married six times, his last marriage being in Ghana in 1995 where he retains a massive investment of funds looted from Nigeria. His sixth wife also lives in London with his children. Apart from Ghana, David Mark also has investments in the Caribbean and the US and maintains hefty bank accounts in Switzerland, Cayman Islands and Jersey.

There is little content in Buhari's scorecard hence no need to put him in a front burner before he is yet to settle down.

Let's give him space to compose his cabinet and chose his advisers.

All the items you listed do not affect the lives of everyday citizens on the streets hence let him be until a time he rolls out his policies and let's see how he go about implementing them. If it favours the mass, we applaud him, if not we raise our voices to correct him then if he ignores our legitimate concerns then we start the criticism.

I pray Buhari succeeds for the good of everyday citizens on the streets, helpless women and children who suffer the effects of poor governance in Nigeria.

God Bless President Mohammadu Buhari

OrlandoOwoh:
I'll appreciate it if the Governor tells us what the problem is.

He addressed the problem in the article excerpted below.

... The governor, who was obviously reacting to allegations of financial recklessness levelled against his administration by the Social Democratic Party in the state, denied exposing the state to a financial crisis.

While promising that things would soon get better, the governor traced the genesis of the financial crisis in the state to 2012 when salaries increased drastically as a result of hike in wages.

Aregbesola said, “The summary of five years reveal that in the two months of 2010, we received a net allocation of N4.2bn and paid emoluments of N3.6bn. This left us with a net gain of N573m from our statutory allocation.

“In 2011 also, we got N29.9bn allocation and spent N25.8bn on emoluments with a net gain of N4bn. However, in 2012, we got N28.4bn and expended N31.6bn on emoluments.

“This left us, for the first time, with a deficit of N3.2bn. The following year, 2013, our statutory allocation had dropped to N26.4bn while our emoluments rose to N36.9bn. This gave us a whopping N10.4bn deficit.

“In 2014, our statutory allocation fell further to N19.3bn and by which time we were already defaulting on some of our obligations on emoluments.

“In summary, between November 2010 and December 2014, we got a total statutory allocation of N108.3bn and our expenditure on emoluments was N120.4bn. It left us with a total deficit of N12bn.

“Aside from expenditure on salaries, if other emoluments are to be included, the total recurrent expenditure will be N206bn and statutory allocation will be N108.3bn. With other accruals from Abuja, it will add up to N176.5bn, leaving the state with a deficit of almost N30bn.”

“Even when we add our internally generated revenue, we were still only able to muster N204bn and still short by N2bn. It simply means that all our earnings from all sources between 2010 and 2014 could not carry our recurrent expenditure.”

I know what currently obtains must be deeply embarrassing to some of their previous handlers, but this is precisely the outcome some of us foresaw with the pursuit of vainglory - anchored on slander and bigotry.

To be candid; I think the contradictions have become far to antagonistic to be resolved via dialogue.
Jonathan's Presidency appears to have bequeathed his followers with an unquenchable thirst for destruction and the wholesale acceptance of infirmities, which would for long remain immutable to reason or emotional appeal.

The new administration needs to act fast - to deliver on promises that provide clear and tangible improvements on the quality of life - if the TANoid-narrative, which is currently running on steroids, is to be contained. It needs to work with an increased sense of urgency, with the knowledge that its detractors are well funded - having liquidated most of the nation's wealth through various pilfering mechanisms, these past few years.

The headline shoud be "Journalism Reaches a New Low". The behavior of those journalists was pathetic at best, worse off, coming from Nigerian journalists, living in a country that hosts Boko Haram, and has been under military rule since time immemorial. I do not see how the daily news celebrate such uncouth, disrespectful behavior to a sitting head of state and leader of the African Union. The last time I checked, even the Nigerian president voted for president RGM to be the African Union chair, therefore acknowledging their trust in him despite his age. I do not subscribe to any political party, but I do not celebrate foolishness either. Pathetic.

It was difficult to respond to such questions as they were about future political planning and change. In politics the complex nature of change means that predicting events is impossible, and is quite likely to be dangerous, as it implies inflexibility and a need to become locked into one specific prophecy...... Of much great value is the ability to recognise dots on the horizon, the signs of change that inevitably affect every organization and to understand their significance and how the organization should adapt

"Gen.Buhari may have already been assassinated by America's CIA, he hasn't been photographed in public since his inauguration on 29 May 2015 ; Osinbajo is likely a USA stooge" ~ GenBuhari

The same one who went into a meeting a short while ago? grin

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Service Chiefs this afternoon went into a crucial meeting in what is seen a prelude to the eventual disengagement of the service chiefs who all served under President Goodluck Jonathan.

The service Chiefs who arrived at the defence House a few minutes to 12 noon immediately went into the meeting with the President.
The National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) had arrived the Defence House few minutes before the service Chief arrived.

The Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Air Staff as well as the Inspector General of Police were led into the meeting by the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.

Updates soon.

EUROBOMBER:

Your party the APC is now in power, can you guys push for a better structuring of this country? I think the center is too powerful and attractive.

Although I don't bat for any party as such, I am prepared to join hands with well-meaning Nigerians on NL and elsewhere - to push for a new configuration. This has long been my position. Now don't expect this offer to be extended to "dingbats" (as a perennially angry elder is wont to say), bigots, and other out-of-favour renegades though. cheesy

Eurobomber sir, as I am not adverse to a different configuration, I am not sure how you arrived this conclusion.
I will take a true federation, a confederation of states, or some other kind of regional government, over the current arrangement.
